I'm in the process of deciding where to stay at Niagara Falls for three nights at the end of June. We (the family) want to have a little mini trip around Canada Day!! The family consists of me, hubby & two boys, 10 & 12. We would like something within walking distance to the "falls area" (within 1km); with a pool (outdoor is fine); clean & comfy; & of course....CHEAP!!! ;)

So, any suggestions? I know different web sites that you can go too but I'm more interested in your experience at some of these places.

Also, as we are considering Canada Day there, do they do fireworks over the falls?

Thanks all!!

We stayed at the Travelodge right on Clifton Hill. It was cheap, had a nice pool, clean with a bonus continental breakfast(yay for not having to worry about it!), and walking distance to everything!!!

I don't know about fireworks over the falls though, sorry

They definitely do fireworks over the falls on Canada Day. Not the same as Disney, but still worth seeing. ;) Just be sure you don't want to take your vehicle anywhere before/after the fireworks. Traffic is usually at a standstill. We generally park 2 miles away and walk down to the falls for the holiday fireworks.

Hey!

I live in the falls, so I know a ton a great hotels. We enjoyed staying at Days Inn Near the Falls, Imperial Hotel And Suites ( we really had a good trip there), Howard Johnson by the Falls, Travelodge Hotel By the Falls, etc. Theres alot of good hotels, but keep in mind there are alot of bad ones too. tryin checking through travelocity. All the hotels generally have pools, just make sure they are fairly close to the falls. if you need an extra help on things to do PM me!:wizard:

Marriott & Embassy Suites are expensive but have spectacular views.

this is not cheap but we love the marriott and sometimes (like today) we get emails with package deals - this was a $139 'Casino package' rate with an added value of $162; added values: free hot breakfast buffet, $75 dinner voucher, $20 in casino chips and free casino shuttle.
