The two, mall-based Disney Stores near us are awful - no selection, etc. It keeps us heading to NY to visit the Disney-owned store there though!

LOL:rotfl: how is everyone??? im staying home today cause my sisters knee is bothering her(she had surgery done on it about 2 years ago) so im staying home and hopfully sleeping well my parents cars are drivable. it just on my moms car the passenger door wont open so who ever is sitting in the passenger side has to climb into it LOL. the side of my dads car (the driver side door) was pushed in but that was the same side that a truck came and side swiped the side of the car while it was parked out on the street. well in other news, the weather is beautiful yet cold.

Hi everyone!
I'm here on my own today as DH and youngest DS (Samuel) have piled into the Lexus and set off on the 260 mile round trip to see their soccer team Aston Villa play - bless 'em... :goodvibes
So I'm planning a day of self-pampering - long lazy scented bubble bath, facial treatments, manicure and pedicure. Plus I'm going to attempt to come to terms with my dodgy haircut and experiment with alternative ways of wearing my fringe (bangs)!!! :scared1: Should be fun..? ;)
Hope everyone else is having a good Saturday... :cool1:

The boys always split on that decision... Keira is still undecided! LOL
The last time we went to Blizzard Beach it was actually not very crowded - and on pretty hot day, too. Tim went on Summit Plummet over and over and over again in a quest to get over 55MPH! He was pretty light at the time and just couldn't get up the speed. I barreled down pretty quick, but was generally left with a mega-wedgie that I rather soon forget :rotfl:

That's right! They're a little nervous as Villa seem to be running out of steam and even tho' the should beat Sunderland, at this stage of the season nothing's a given... ;)
Man Utd are fantastic at the moment and Cristiano Ronaldo has got to be one of the (if not THE) best players in the World! Despite the men in my life supporting Villa, I'm a Man Utd fan - my father's family originally entered England in the North West and settled there for a while before ending up in the Midlands...
Hope my DH and DS will get to see the Man U/Villa game in Barbados... :goodvibes

Had my day of self-indulgent pampering and I'm pleased to report I have managed to do something with the oh-so-horrid hairdo!!! Thanks to DD and her collection of clips and grips that she picked up for me, I've been able to slick my fringe to the side and put a pretty clip in to keep it in place. It's not exactly sophisticated but it'll do while it grows... But enough of my self-absorbed ramblings!
The weather's been insane here today - hailstorms, blue skies, high wind and torrential rain!!! :sad2: My boys are on their way back from the match now (Villa lost! :headache: ) so I just hope the have a safe journey...
Which water park do you think is better for my kids who are six years old??
Do you think Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
Both are neat, but I prefer Typhoon Lagoon - you can swim with the sharks :-) It was cool (both the water and the experience!). The feeling is quite relaxing and tropical. Look out for the ice creams - served in small plastic pails with a shovel for your spoon!
You may also want to look at Seaworld's new waterpark - Aquatica. Looks fun too.

The weather's been insane here today - hailstorms, blue skies, high wind and torrential rain!!! :sad2: My boys are on their way back from the match now (Villa lost! :headache: ) so I just hope the have a safe journey...
Glad you had a nice self indulgent day. Everyone needs one of those every now and again.
The weather sounds.. welll...typically 'can't make my mind up' English weather. Just reminds me one of the reasons we enjoy being over in California now :-)
Never really was a soccer fan myself. If I support anyone it is Notts Forest (but that is because all my family is from there). DH is from Northumberland so he and his family probably would be Newcastle supporters. (DH is not a soccer fan either!). Sorry the boys team lost though!
So far I've been to Costco and dyed Easter Eggs with the kids. I'm tired though, DD woke up in the night, so I didn't get much sleep. Going to settle down with the kids and watch a movie I think. I still have to make a dish for an Easter brunch & egg hunt tomorrow with our neighbors and then we have an Easter dinner in the evening with another family.
I think making the brunch dish is the last thing I need to prepare for tomorrow. All the decorative eggs are dyed and the ones for the egg hunt are filled.
Enjoy the candy / Easter eggs tomorrow:)

So far its been rush here, and rush there.
Started today taking the trash to the dump, then Caitlin to Sewing, while I did some food shopping for tomrrow, were having Turkey. Then did some easter basket supply shopping for Caitlin's basket. Picked Caitlin up, stopped and brought home sandwiches, Then it was time to Hard boil some eggs, Opps need to go and get something from the store for Beth.
Back home cooling the eggs, Time for Caitlin to color the eggs.
Later tonight I do my impression of the easter bunny as I fill the basket and pastic eggs for the egg hunt tomorrow morning.
Even at 10 1/2 Caitlin loves huntting for the eggs.
She is going be surpriesed when she opens a couple of them and find out about summer camp and change of Vacation, that money and some chocalate in some of the eggs too.
Almost forgot, a trip to Best Buy, my mouse for the laptop died, time to pick up a new one.

:goodvibes

ALL I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LIFE
I LEARNED FROM THE EASTER BUNNY
Don't put all of your eggs in one basket
Walk softly and carry a big carrot
Everyone needs a friend who is all ears
There's no such thing as too much candy
All work and no play can make you a basket case
A cute little tail attracts a lot of attention
Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day
Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits
Some body parts should be floppy
Keep your paws off other people's jellybeans
Good things come in small sugarcoated packages
The grass is always greener in someone else's basket
An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare
To show your true colors you have to come out of your shell
The best things in life are still sweet and gooey !!

Did my Easter Bunny chores and hid the eggs this morning, Caitlin woke up and found her basket filled with books, tamagotchi's Chocolate and candy.
Then outside to find the eggs hide around the yard.
23 in all, money and more candy filling the eggs, and two were filled with special messages.
She was surprised to when she opened the first egg and it said, your vacation has been moved, Now starting Aug 9th and going to Dollywood,
Later she found the egg with the message, you are attending the westport summer theater camp
I'm surprised the neighbors didn't call the police as load as she yelled in glee, :lmao:

Hi Kristin! DH is OK. Kind of having a set-back but he's doing OK. Thanks for asking!
I spoke to DSis last week and they are planning, however, her daughters are going to be starting school that week and I think the price is throwing a wrench in things. She said she was going to talk to her DH about it. She wants to go, and usually gets what she wants. But I don't know. They were going to wait until Aug. to book but I warned her about the price. I passed on all the info she needs to get pricing. :thumbsup2

I think DW has them running around for doctor's appts, dentist, orthodontist, all the good stuff that's hard to get done when they're in school... Going to try and get to the Star Wars exhibit in Philadelphia, too.

Hi Kristin!
:thumbsup2
When I booked a few days ago, DU still had some great pricing on rooms (group booking pricing). If they are interested, they may want to see if it is still available.

We've had a relaxing few days at home and DH returns to work tomorrow for a mere 3 days of work before we leave for Barbados on Friday - can't wait!!! :woohoo: :beach: :woohoo:
DH retrieved the luggage from the attic today and sorted out his vacation clothes for Barbados. Tomorrow I shall examine what couture delights I have hidden in my closet before making the usual mercy dash to the local mall!!! Then I plan to simply wash and re-pack my vacation clothes upon returning from the Caribbean in readiness for WDW/DCL in May. :thumbsup2 For once in my life, I shall be super-organised!!! :yay:

I know you're staying at AKV - we have an ADR for Boma at 8.20pm on May 8th so maybe we could meet in the Lobby for a pre-dinner cocktail if you're free? Illuminations is our favorite fireworks show. Love it.
We have seen it from the front of the park (front row seating that I had to get there an hour and a half before show started in November! Luckily it wasn't too cold!)
But the best place IMHO is from one of the pontoon boats that moor up under the bridge between France and England. Great view, but you also feel the fireworks through the boat. We have done it twice this way. First was Easter 2007 with family from the UK (a special treat for them), but we also got a boat for our 10th wedding anniversary in Jan this year. OK it rained a bit, but still cool. We took champagne on the boat with us and sat under umbrellas. Fun.
Thanksgiving they add a few extra minutes of fireworks. WOW. Amazing. Not sure how long they offer the added show for or if they do it at other times, but they sure do light up the sky then.

Hi Karen - We've seen Illuminations many times over the years, but last November we watched from the same area you did and loved it. Didn't have to stake out a spot way ahead of time, no crowds to deal with, and an nice easy escape out of the park when it was over.

Mine are normally off the week after, but with it being so early, they pushed it back. Our last day of school is June 5th or something like that. Last year it was June 14th because of all the snow days they had to make up. My sister's kids get out May 22nd! I think that is early! How about Jordan?

She is actually in a pre-K daycare, they are open all of the time, summer too, so she will be there until around mid August when she starts Kindergarten, she will be turning 6 in September, so she was past the cut-off for Kindergarten this school year, we kept her in her daycare, as they are an accredited Pre-K too.

I've seen them from the land and pontoon boats. Personally I perfer the land, being crammed in under the bridge with the other boats, all we could see is the flames and feel some heat. I saw more of it from the land
Must say I didn't like the new show as much as I like the old show from the late 1990's

How True, we used to ride our bike's without helmets, ride in cars without seatbelts, and ride in the front seat too. It's amazing any of us lived.
From one of those chain emails that goes around and around and around....
Those Born 1930-1979!
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930’s 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s !!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking. As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank koolade made with sugar, but we weren’t overweight because WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING !
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day.
And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo’s, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD’s, no surround-sound or CD’s, no cell phones, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat rooms…….WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!
If YOU are one of them . . . CONGRATULATIONS!

: It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?
Are you the police?

You miserable slug! You think you can talk your way out of this? You betrayed me.
No I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD.

That's what happened with DS. He actually met the cut-off by 18 days in our district, but there was no way I was sending him being so close to the cut-off. It was a VERY wise move on our part and he's much better off because of it. What day is her birthday? DS is 9/12.

Hey Abby, how's your DH?
Thanks for asking Nikki! He's no better. Proof that he's not feeling good: a friend of his called him to see if he wanted to go to a Golfsmith store yesterday, and he said NO. :scared1: My DH lives for golf and LOVES that store.

Hi Treasure Seekers! :wave2: Hope everyone is having a fah-bu-lous day...
Cold but dry here today. Been to the gym for a session with my Personal Trainer and feeling quite buzzing now! I haven't been for a while and I'm going to miss her when I'm on hols. Ah well, I'll survive.. ;)
Just rang DVC MS and added BWV to Day 5 of my October ressie which is fab! :woohoo: 5 down, 2 to go...
Also signed up for the Owner's Locker (https://www.ownerslocker.com/) so looking forward to receiving and filling my big purple box at the start of our May trip. It'll mean I don't have to keep lugging essentials to and fro the UK... :goodvibes

I've heard about owners lockers, they sound nice, it would be good not to lug everything back and forth every time.:thumbsup2
Greetings all. I'm back into a routine (sort of) after the tough week we had last week with the passing of my mother-in-law. Kids are having a tough time of it - we all are of course - but watching them just breaks my heart.
Anywhoooo, we felt like we needed a does of Disney so we booked a trip for Memorial Day weekend. Staying at the GF. This was a trip we had planned in January but had to cancel when my m-i-l fell ill. Amazingly we got every dining reservation that we had in January - even on the same days (Thursday's reservations stayed on Thursday). Strange..but great. Didn't get as good a deal on the room as we had a 20 percent discount (AAA) in Jan. but over Memorial Day it was only 10 percent. At least it was something!
Also made the final decision on our summer vacation - doing the Mexican Riviera on Aug. 10 (with Karen!).
Hope all of you are having a great week! I'm going to try (in vain more than likely) to keep up with you all.

   So sorry you're all having such a horrid time right now, Jeff. I know how tough it can be. It was the 15th anniversary of my Mum's passing on Easter Sunday so we had a family lunch and raised a glass to her - she may be gone but she's definitely not forgotten, bless her! :flower3:
Hope the GF break lifts everyone's spirits and I look forward to meeting up with you and your family in August... :goodvibes

I wonder too, I am going to try and convince my cousin and her family this week to go with us!!! :goodvibes I was reading a couple of threads on the cruise board, and people were saying the 2nd floor laundry room was leaking, and some other problems, I'm glad the ship will be going to drydock before we will be cruising. :thumbsup2
