i dont really understand about the deductions. i mean what i see the girl for the US in the pink leotard stuck her landing on the uneven bars but she got a deduction, and the girl in the red leotard got 15.something and i think she did good.she is on beam now and she looks like she is doing good.

I had a meeting in Atlantic City today (yuck), but I wandered in to Tiffany and bought DW a very nice present (shhhhhh!!).

We were all up late again last night (except for Keira) - yelling and screaming like it was the Super Bowl!!! It was awesome.
I'm not seeing any mention of Natalie Coughlin anywhere though - she won her 6th medal yesterday (albeit not all gold). She swims her backstroke like Tim does - often crashing into the lane lines!
Tim doesn't start practice again until after Labor Day, but he's all pumped up now!!

Hi All,
We are back from Williamsburg! Had a great time:cool1: . The weather was very good. Mostly sunny and not too hot. I would say it was mid 80's everyday. We had one cloudy day and one aftertoon of a thunderstorm, other than that it was nice. The first 4 days we spent touring Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Ripley's museum, and Virginia Living Museum. The last three days we spent relaxing and enjoying the Great Wolf Lodge.
Samantha have a great time on your trip to Williamsburg!
Abby-Sorry you won't be joining us on the cruise, but please stay in touch, you will be missed!

Hi Nikki, Harry
Yep we are back, just picked up the pets from boarding, uggg it was more than I expected. somehow I estimated wrong.
I am off this week too, so now maybe I will get to relax some
Last Tuesday started out well, oh at least I thought.
Your know that nagging feeling you forgot something or to do something.
I packed the car, loaded the roof rack and attached the bike rake and bikes.
Mail and paper was stopped for the week, Timers were set for the lights.
We locked the house and were off.
On time yet.
Still it went too well, oh well if we forget something, we properly didn't need it.
We had driven about two hundred miles, stopped for lunch and has about another 100 miles to go, and then it dawn on me what I forgot.
A little background,
In 1995 I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I use a cpap machine to help me keep my air passage ways open at night. I used it every night since without fail
Yep it was my machine, When we were packing the car, I remember saying to Beth, I needed to go back in the bedroom and get my machine.
Well packing the roof rack and attached the bike rack and bikes took longer and was hard work on a hot humid morning.
I came back in the house thinking the car trunk, roof rack and bikes were all loaded. I even walked in the bedroom to make sure the lights were off, but Beth and I didn't see the machine was still on the night stand.
We had left at 11 am, and stopped for lunch around 12:30. I takes about 5 hrs with rest stops and lunch to get to the campground. It was now 2:30pm I was at the point 1 1/2 hrs to the Lake and about the same to back to home.
If it was almost anything else, I would have continued on, but next exit I got off and headed back home. We got back home at 4pm.
Pick up my machine, used the bathroom and back into the car
Had dinner on the road too, and got to the lake at 9pm.
In total our 5hr trip took 10hrs.
We had a great time even with the packing issue.
No one to get mad at except myself. First time in all these years I forgot my machine.:sad2:

Hey Kristen, if (or rather when;) ) we add on, we will get 100 developer points that we have to use at Saratoga Springs- so we are staying there the week before the cruise. So any info you have on the resort or good buildings would be appreciated. Thanks!!:goodvibes

Hi All,
We are back from Williamsburg!
Thanks Sharon! I'm glad you had a great time! Did you go to the water park at the Great Wolf every day? How was the lodge?

Ed-
So glad you had a good time, except for the 10 hour trip there! It never fails that something must throw a wrench in things.

Yeah, but the kids are staying home. I'm the one who gets to go away! ;)
How is your soccer season going so far? There is this one boy on Hayden's team that will probably get kicked off before the first game is over! He is SUCH a trouble maker! Thankfully the coach has no problem setting this kid straight. Other than that, Hayden is doing pretty well and likes it alot more this year than last.

We're still training several times a week (though Keira doesn't start until September). It's hard to say how the team looks so far... I think I can safely say we won't go undefeated again this season though...

It's hard to believe the cruise is finally *just* a year away. Unfortunately I will not be going on this cruise after all. I have really enjoyed getting to know each of you, and I was thrilled to get in on this group from day 1!! There have been LOTS of laughs to say the least!! I hope you all have a terrific next year working your way towards cruise time, and I hope you don't mind if I pop in every now and then to see how you all are doing. :grouphug:
Abby, for selfish reasons I’m so sorry to hear that you aren’t going to be able to make the cruise :sad1: . No direct offense intended to everyone else on the thread, but in my opinion you by far were the most engaging, fun and outgoing person here, you really brought so much life to his thread, you’ll be sorely missed. I for one want to say that should whatever circumstances happen to change and you are somehow able to make the trip, I truly would look forward to finally meeting you (especially since I suffered so brutally from your verbal lashings!!!) :rotfl: . Regardless, I reciprocate what the others have said, please drop in from time to time, as your schedule will allow. I for one would enjoy hearing how you fair and would look forward to a little chat now and then :goodvibes . I wish you the best of luck in whatever the future holds for you :flower3: . Hey Jeff,
Did you do an FE Exchange on your cruise??!!!!!!!!!!!
We did. And we showed up with mostly dollar store stuff like stickers, glow sticks and the like. But so many people in our group showed up with GREAT stuff that reflected the area where they live. We learned a lot about what to bring next time!

Ahhh, the end of another weekend :sad1:
Today we went to Giants Stadium (what a friggin' hole that place is!) for a NY Red Bulls game. Jake was on the field for about an hour for a soccer clinic. He was thrilled. Tim & I were sitting directly in the hot sun and were less than thrilled..... Good game and we eventually moved around to find some shade.

Hi everyone! Long time, no post!!! We returned from LAX yesterday after one of our best vacations ever!!! :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:
We had an absolutely, unbelievably awesome trip - the Mexican Riviera cruise was fantastic and our time in LA was amazing too! I totally fell in love with California and can't wait to return to see more. I'll probably be putting a trip report together soon - I'll keep you posted. :thumbsup2
Hope everyone's keeping well and enjoying the summer. And now for some news - as you may remember, my DH can't make this cruise next year so I initially considered just Samuel and myself sailing. Unfortunately, this is proving too complex as now DS has work experience lined up and also hopes to attend one/two of the many summer music festivals! So I've just put in a request with my TA to transfer next August's booking to one of the rumoured "special" 2010 cruises! ;) I'm sorry I won't be onboard to meet y'all but hopefully we'll get together on future cruises... :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Hi Everyone! Well this is my first full week back at work after the LA trip and the Mexican Riviera Cruise and I am allready ready for this trip! :cool1: We had a wonderful time, I have never felt so relaxed, it was a great trip. Like Jeff said this cruise was very casual. I had brought several dresses to wear but ended up wearing dress shorts and capris alot of the time. No one was ever very dressed.
Since it was me and my daughter we did sit at a mixed table of 8. It was all groups of 2 so it was nice to have the mixture. Paige was in that 11-13 year group, and yes I did catch her running around the ship. They can check themselves in and out and do whatever they want. There was usually a group of them going somewhere for something and then headed back to the club. She did enjoy herself very very much. I have told everyone that if you want to go on a vacation with your kids, but never see your kids, go on the disney cruise. She made alot of new friends and they have all exchanged phone numbers and email addresses.
Well I guess I will be popping in and out of this thread more often now that this is all I have to look forward to now...Another year of wishing it away ;) I can't wait for Tortolla. My 23yr old son has now decided to join us, he is worried about it being a childrens cruise I have insured him that he will have a good time! :yay:

Hi all! Just in from a long day in NYC... I'll post a couple of pictures this weekend (though we really didn't take too many!).... Perfect weather - mid 70s, low humidity.....
Today's stops included: NHL Store, American Girl, Central Park Zoo, lunch at a wonderful little place - Alice's Tea Cup, Tiffany & Co, World of Disney (where we got to see Snow White, and finally Nintendo World... ran out of time for FAO Schwartz today.......
Sounds wonderfull. sounds like you covered a lot of area.

Sounds, like a WONDERFUL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nikki,, I feel the same as you busy busy busy....School starts for us on Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a great day! We walked the whole thing too - the weather was perfect.
The afternoon tea we had was one of the highlights of the day. The hostess sprinkled glitter over Keira when we got there - she thought she was real princess!! It's not really what I would call a "kid" place, but it appeased everyone in the family. The boys would have had heart attacks if they step foot in the American Girl Cafe for example!! :rotfl2: The boys were able to get hamburgers (good ones, too!) and Keira had a huge plate of carrots & celery sticks with homemade peanut butter. They have a very unique and healthy menu (for the most part). DW & I had the "Mad Hatter" for 2. Came with two pots of tea (they had 100+ teas to choose from); 3 scones (the pumpin scones were INCREDIBLE); two sandwiches (she chose egg salad and I had a chicken with granny smith apple slices and goat cheese); and finally chocolate moose with some cookies. Sounds like a lot, but those finger sandwiches don't even put a dent in my appetite :rotfl:

Thanks!
Have you seen how strong Gustav has gotten?!?! Being that oil production is going to get all screwed up again - go out and fill your gas tanks tomorrow - I'm sure the oil companies are going to boost the price gas almost immediately.....

Hi Karen! I'm glad to here your recent trip was so great!!! They'll definitely miss you on this upcoming cruise! It's been so nice getting to know you! I had to cancel about a month ago due to some things going on here. I'm hoping someday I'll be back on DCL though! Take care. :sunny:

Yeah, what he said. I fell off, bumped my head, suffered a mild case of amnesia, and I now go by the name Amy! :rotfl:

How are you doing Nikki? My kids started school last Tuesday. I can't believe the last 12 weeks went by so fast. Why does summer break always seem to fly by? Good luck to Jordan in school! When does dance start?

Hey there.. Busy, with the last week before school starts.. I actually have a PTA Meeting tonight I am the Vice-President so ugh to that!!!!!!!!!
No, never done that what is it and where???!!
Kristin-
I'm so sorry! :rotfl2: I resigned as the PTO Treasurer and fortunately my spot was filled last week. That takes a huge load off of me!!! Some time this week I need to turn over all of my stuff. I had it for all of 2 weeks. LOL Are the girls ready to start school? Are you ready for them to star? All day right? My mil seems a bit lost now that she doesn't have any kids during the days anymore. She's always had at least one child for the last 9 years.

I'm good!! Jordan loves school so far;) . Dance starts Thursday, she has ballet recital practice on Thursdays- for a recital in November, and ballet on Fridays. Also, soccer games will be on Friday or Saturdays until November. How have you been?
