Anyone own an iPod touch?

I'm cosidering buying an iPod touch and I have a question: to get internet on the touch do you need to subscribe to an apple service or can it just connect to a router? Also if you have the touch is it worth the money?

I own one, and there is no subscription.
For the money question, it really depends what you are going to do with it. If one of the big reasons you want it for is internet anywhere and you have hotspots in your area to connect to, go for it. But it's a lot of money for the amount of memory you get, no matter which model.

I got an iPod Touch on the day it came out and I have loved every minute of it.. yes it is quite a lot of money, but for what i do with it and how much I use it, it is definately worth it! As for the internet, it is about the best you can get on a mobile device, only drawback is no flash= no vmk :( or similar games... but otherwise I love everything about it... I guess I must also state that I have "modified" mine to increase the functionality, but with or with out the hacks it is a great way to listen to music, watch movies, look at pictures, use the internet, and many other things... would definately recommend it to anyone... hope this helps :thumbsup2
