Hey Bubble I'm not sure if you tried this yet or even thought about it but what about giving them a call and leaving them a message there? They do eventually get back to you. I made a call a while ago and it took maybe a week to finally get someone to call me back but they were nice and pretty helpful. If you need the number you can pm me for it. Paul, I would love to say your correct about disney but you are not anywhere near correct. I use to work for Disney and was there almost 8 years before I had had enough and left for good.
I started working in food service and then got into the entertainment division..YEA! But I can tell you as a employee, the entertainment department employees are treated like royality and the others like trash. Granted I worked my butt off in the entertainment department but it was a dream job. Disney was a great place to go and visit and wonderful to work for, but I left when one CEO, which I won't name, ruined the magic of the whole experience that Disney had. Underground and backstage tours is just one of many ways that were never ever envisioned by Walt. Granted Disney is for children but tons of adults go and just love it, but behind the scene tours were nothing more than a way to line his wallet and build up his stock options or golden parachutte.
Now I live about 25 minute from WDW and I haven't been in 9 years, because I can't afford to take my kids. Admission prices just went up to 71 a piece, per person, per park. So for me to take my 3 kids and myself would cost me 284 plus 10 for parking, oh and then there is the 10 small container of popcorn and 5 dollar 20 oz bottle of soda. Anyways going to disney is something I will probally never see again and my kids won't enjoy the magic of disney either. On a side note, when I work for Disney (magic kingdom) the park was always spotless, and lines straight for the rides and so on. Well the last time we visited Magic kingdom I was sick at the pure filth and no real lines for ride, people cut you and everything, it was a miserable experience. I did complain to customer service and they just said sorry but we are a busy business. So when I got home, I called disney and said I was disappointed and they said sorry but things change and as long as people enter the gates they aren't going to change. So after that phone call, we bought season ticket to universal studios/Island of adventure. My kids love universal, but they would love to see what Disney is like. Hey maybe I will win the lottery someday..LOL
Anyways, I guess my point is, that in todays society it is not the customer is always right anymore. It's about money and if you, the customer, aren't happy or satisfied you might get a so sorry, but they aren't going to do anything about it.
If someone gets the right phone number to call and gets help please let me know! I would really like to get the ban removed from my record and I refuse to write vmk again, plus vmk shorty said I would be banned much longer if I wrote again and frivilious issues.

WOW this amazes me. I have been to WDW twice a year for the past 7 years and have not seen this. Last time I was there in April a bottle of water (Dasani) or soda was $2.25 for 20 ounce and a 12 ounce water was $1.25. The popcorn in the souvenir bucket was $4.00. I did not find it dirty I found the lines organized as everything has queues. I still find it magical.

So here's what I'm wondering. After Bears said that scripting program is short keys, what about VMK Pal? I used the Short keys in there a few times during my ride the other day because I was having so much lag. On VMKPal, they cite a newsletter where VMK says it's ok to use those if running a game or assisting people as long as you don't spam the screen. Now I know several of you wonderful DISers sat in there with me most of the night. Did it appear as if I was spamming? I was using them to welcome people to the ride and give instructions. This couldn't be what caused it, could it? Especially since I was using them within the guidelines. I wish they would just give me a freaking straight answer as to what I did, so I wouldn't have to rack my brain for anything I may have done the past month.

Arg. They really don't make VMK player friendly :( I can't imagine being a parent who doesn't play VMK and having to deal with your kid getting banned. It's tough enough for adults who know and "understand" *cough* VMK to figure out what's going on. From what I have read Short Keys are ok as long a you allow a 4 second interval between each use. Well I was in your quest room and I guarantee you did not exceed that! More than that is considered spamming. Hopefully you will be contacted soon. Have everything ready when they do call. The codes and anything else you can think of. Also I do not know if this is possible, but if you are being banned for using some third party program to generate codes invite them to log into your pc to view all programs, files etc. I know this is possible with many larger companies, like Macafee, Roadrunner, Microsoft etc. Since they can ban an IP I believe this is possible. Good luck we are all rooting for you!!

I hope that they correct their mistake quickly. It's terrible that they do not explain their bans to players more clearly. It would be so much easier to explain why you feel your ban in unfair if you knew their reasoning behind it.

Yes, they can. All the emails in the world won't make any difference.
Bubbles has to talk to vmk staff to find out the reason for her ban and ask for a review. Once it's been reviewed, they will decide if it's fair or not. If found to be a fair ban, it will stay. If found unfair, they will lift it with a lame apology and nothing more.
Don't waste your time or vmk's time with a flood of emails. It won't help her cause and may hinder their progress by taking time sorting through all those emails.

Note to Bubbles: I see where you stated having used VMKPal's short keys for a game room. Did you know that VMK does consider VMKPal to be a scripting program? It is not a part of Disney's software, it is user created and not approved for use with VMK. Just an fyi.
One more thing. Sometimes bans happen days after the offense occurred. Were you entering a lot of codes any time within a week before the actual ban? It sounds like your ban was a computer-generated ban, not one from a live moderator. Something triggered the computer to place a permanent ban on your machine, character and/or IP address. Ask them if your ban is a three-way ban. Sounds like it is. Keep in mind, some bans DO get overturned.

Just to clarify, she did not say that VMK can tell codes that are generated from a generator. It is the volume of codes entered at a given time is what the trigger could be for the "computerized ban." Mimi's point was did she enter a large volume of codes.

well, they do not do the volume/speed bans any more so thats definately not what it was. I enter a large ammount of Sparrow codes every day and never even get a warning, much less a ban. And by large ammount, I mean 1500-2000 per day (and 250,000 codes later, I STILL have not gotten a sparrow costume)

If I was to hazard a guess as to what the ban was for, it was that someone who does not like her is friends with a staff member and she was targetted for the ridiculous ban by a staff member who loves his/her suckups.

I have found it clean, CM's kind and courteous. We just returned on the 23rd and
had a great time.

AlonelyMom-- You can take your goodies into the park, snacks, drinks ( not glass bottles) I have even seen MANY people pulling roller ice-chest with them through the parks!

Ok I've officially called them and am waiting to hear back. Hopefully it will be soon.

I know about VMK Pal, but VMk has specifically said that short keys are ok for game rooms or assisting people. In terms of codes, I never enter more than 50 a day at most. The week before my ban, I entered waterslide up and down codes from Tigger and I believe a few Sparrow ones, and then the three Holiday cards. Other than that, there weren't any others.

That's all I know to tell you right now.

When all is said and done, I think there are too many fine lines when it comes to interpreting VMK's house rules. There's something seriously wrong when even long-time players who share a wide base of knowledge can't understand what VMK really means.As you know, many people have purchased the 'Pirate' pinsets for friends and reimbursed them. It is the same as selling an item.Technically, this is not the same. The reason that buying the pin sets does not violate the TOS is that you are really buying pins, not game items; the cards they are on just happen to have "free" codes on them. Reselling them wouldn't be any problem, that I can see.Did you know that VMK does consider VMKPal to be a scripting program? It is not a part of Disney's software, it is user created and not approved for use with VMK. Didn't matter if the codes had been innocently obtained in trades; apparently VMK came up with a way to determine their origin when players entered them in the game, and acted accordingly. But back to Bubbles' situation. It just floors me that VMK would pounce on her for volunteering information about buying codes on Ebay, even if they arguably have the right to.

I've never gotten the impression that VMK has tried to track down which players were selling these codes or items in the first place, which would seem to be necessary if they were serious about stopping the Ebay sales. But they've never managed to put teeth to that part of the TOS. (And I think the Ebay "Dreams" promotion just made the whole issue more confusing to players.) To take advantage of one person who obviously didn't think what they were doing was wrong, when they've let slide so many who put codes and items up for auction, just seems out of whack.

They definitely could tell when some codes were harvested by a generator when the narnia codes thing happened. There was a web site that created a generator and admitted when they got caught and warned any users of the generator. They read the HTTP header packet and identified that the generator had a unique request that wasnt the same as when the game generated the link.

True but what they did, was capture the IP address of who generated that code. I am sure they didnt leave it running because like you said it would hog a bunch of resources. But that doesnt mean they dont turn it on from time to time. They knew when to turn it on because there was sort of a countdown from a particular web site as to when the generator was coming out ROFL. Typical huh ROFL. They were taunting VMK pretty much with it and showing how smart they were. VMK was ready for them because they were so bold ROFL.

Of course they really were targetting the people who generated the code in the first place. Just like you said, once its a code its in the system, I doubt its flagged any differently than any other code in their system.

Splitting hairs. Like I said before, there is no plausible way for VMK to track who got what codes when and how. It just is not feasible from a programming/database standpoint.

And they only banned people who had entered large numbers of codes or had sold large quantities of the teleporters.

But again, that is getting way off topic now by arguing verbage and splitting hairs as to what VMK did/should have done when the situation happened. Only heavy abusers were banned and I really do not think they were all that unfair, except the fact that there was no warning beforehand that using the harvester was against values.

Have you had any luck getting their character's back?

inactivity is different than a ban. I thought it was 6 months when they delete old accounts though.

I have had some friends who have had this problem and vmk flat out told them when yout account is gone its gone :sad2: It seems like more accounts are deleting after three months than six months:confused3 Sorry that this happened to you.

So sorry Bubble, but I am not surprised by the email. I can honestly say I have seen very few accounts re-enstated after emails. It usually takes a phone call or two. Of course if they never return your calls I just don't know how you could ever work this out :( I seriously doubt that whoever reads those, ok supposedly VMK Shorty, even checks into the situation. If someone who is 14 gets banned for 10 years. They will be 24 when the ban expires, think they will even remember there password? How do we know VMK will still be popular. 10 years is a permanent ban most likely. I would email VMK using Contact Us to see what the reason was. You can also try to get the ban cleared from your record but your friend probably messed you up for good. :(

Your answer is in bold. And your ban is a permanent ban. It says so on the Newsletter page under Scam Alert (important part in bold):

Scamming is equal to theft and a violation of the VMK Values. If you scam someone in VMK, this will lead to your account being automatically and permanently banned. Having your parents send in a request using Contact Us to get your account re-activated won't work, because if you can't play by the rules and follow the VMK Values, we don't want you in the game.

So, since your friend scammed on YOUR account, you are banned. Sorry :(

to be honest, they will not lift the ban. You admit your sister did something that caused the ban. to get a 10 year, it had to be something pretty drastic, or repetitive behavior. Typically you get a 24 hour ban, followed a by a week, followed by a 30 day, and if the behavior doesnt change you get a 10 year. They dont just jump to 10 year unless it has to do with hacking or like adult themes or language.

I know it stinks that your sister caused it, but if they were to lift the IP ban nothing would prevent your sister from creating a new account. Its the only tool they have to stop people they intend to ban forever.

very few internet providers assign IP addresses to your differnt computers these days. I tend to doubt it.

For ban inquiries, it usually takes at least a week because the VMK Staff have to review the ban and determine if it was fair or not (even if it was an IP ban for someone else).

If he knows her email and birthday, he can find out by pressing 'I think I'm banned" option in the contact us drop menu. If it returns, 'Yes, you have been banned..' then she was banned, otherwise it's a no.

You can go to the VMK Homepage and go to Contact Us at the bottom. There should be a "I think I am Banned" subject that you can explain what happened.

The house shares an IP address in most situations.

Jabbs, write contact us and plead the case for the sake of yourself and/or any other player in the house. It sounds like you dont dispute the ban was warranted just that the target is bigger than deserves. Depending on the nature of the ban they may choose to let it stand as is, but this is your best chance of having the remaining players of the house get to play.

Ok, i will tell the turth. when i first started i got banned for some really bad things. but i was immature. and learned my lesson when i got a 10year ban. but then i got unabnned and i wouldnt do anything wrong. i and way mature and wouldt do anything thats ADULT THEMES. i havent gotten a ban for that in almost 2years i think. i wouldnt do anything to get banned cause i am really trying to become a community leader but there goes my chance. i dont care about the confetti magic anymore. but i am mad that they banned me for no reason at all and for ADULT THEMES. thats is the least thing i would ever get banned for. Ok, i will tell the turth. when i first started i got banned for some really bad things. but i was immature. and learned my lesson when i got a 10year ban. but then i got unabnned and i wouldnt do anything wrong. i and way mature and wouldt do anything thats ADULT THEMES. i havent gotten a ban for that in almost 2years i think. i wouldnt do anything to get banned cause i am really trying to become a community leader but there goes my chance. i dont care about the confetti magic anymore. but i am mad that they banned me for no reason at all and for ADULT THEMES. thats is the least thing i would ever get banned for. Well i will be at space camp for a week and im leaving tomorrow in the morning. oh well.

really. i tried everything to get unbanned. chinging ip address. but got in trouble by my dad lol. and writing them and having my parents writing them. then one day my brother made me mad so i was going to log on to his so it made him get disconnected LOL :rotfl2: and it logged on ! and i was all what? and i tried my new account and it worked. but my original account that i got banned on for 10years was still banned

Personally I think your brother deserved it. VMK Staff members are real people and they have more to worry about then looking through spam when some players may actually need help.

you can check your ban length at vmk.com by using contact us, and then choosing "i think i have been banned"

This website does not permit the discussions related to side stepping a ban, in otherwords we do not permit posting how to change your IP address

I wouldn't try to use a IP ban, even if you could find out how to. Most of the time you must type in commands into "run" and most of the time these commands will shut off your internet until you type in the right command to turn it back on.
