We decided to eat one night at Trails End to check out the campground for some friends of ours. We were wondering if there was any way to see the MK fireworks after dinner from the campground? If not, any suggestions?
Thank you.

Yes! There's a very nice view from down at the marina/beach! :goodvibes

Disney always does a great job of hiding their speakers. A CM told me once that the speakers that pipe in the music from MK are frequently broken. So, consider yourself lucky if you happen to be there on a night that they're working! :goodvibes

Go to site 328 & hang a right & follow the path to Bay Lake. It's about 1/4 mile walk. You cannot drive your golf cart back there - walk only. Take your lawn chairs, sit back, relax & enjoy.

urban myth.......

Nope - not an urban myth - we do it all the time whether we're actually camping or when we take our bicycles over for the day.

Now --- sometimes the sound system isn't working - but the view of the fireworks from behind the 300 loop are better than at the marina (imho).

The Hayride takes precedent over the people standing or sitting around, so be prepared to move out of their way.

use to be a couple years ago they had a truck come back thru the 300 loop to the beach at fireworks time with speakers and play the music. don't know if it is or was a seasonal thing or what, or if they still do it at all. anybody else happen to see this?

You will also be able to catch the nightly Electric Water Pagent on Bay Lake from the beach/marina area.;) I know we've gone to the 7:30 show of Hoop Dee Doo..and were able to see the Water Pagent it was shortly after the show ended and we just walked over to the beach...I'm thinking around 9:30 or so?

That wouldn't be very Disney-like. This has been a known fact for a while, quite a few people have talked about listening to the music behind the 300 loop, you should check it out next time you're at the Fort, it's a great experience :)

We always enjoy going down to the marina, grabbing one of the hammocks, and just relaxing and watching the fireworks. Especially good if you have a cold one from Crockett's nearby...heh

I looked up scanner frequencies for WDW and found these frequencies pertaining to fireworks
461.700 STEP (S.T.E.P. FIREWORKS)
466.700 STEP (S.T.E.P. FIREWORKS)

I also found this on another list
464.200 STEP (Fireworks) – Paired with 466.700

I don’t know if this is what they transmit the audio on or if it’s control personnel, but it may be worth checking out. I'll give it a try with the handheld scanner next time I'm there, maby I can find how they transmit the audio and have my own personal sound system.

First off, des1954 just told you the EXACT location to go to hear the music...

I think enough people have told you already in this thread that it's real, but just in case you didn't read their responses....

It is a Fort fact, I myself have been there and heard it, as have quite a few other people on this forum. Are you calling all of us liars, or that we were just hearing things? People have been talking about this for a couple years on this forum, you must have missed those conversations.

Probably the two weeks you were there it was broken (it breaks down a lot), but THERE IS music that is played behind the 300 loop, when it's working of course.

None of us are misleading anyone, you're just wrong on this one, don't worry, I'm not always right either ;)

This would be your best bet, if you can follow these directions, they will take you directly to where the music plays (also, the view here is a bit better than at the marina).

I have pictures from the spot, but Shannone might make a visit to my house if I post them...lol ;) In fact, I might even have video with audio playing the music from the MK that they pump through the stereos (now that I think about it), but I would have no idea where to look on my computer right now...heh.

It's pretty much the same view, but you can see a bit more because it's more "open" in your view towards the MK.

Well maybe someone is there right now and can let us know about the music,,,JK.

I'm just curious because we're making a night of the campfire, fireworks and water parade when we're there next. Want to get a good spot.

Also what's the info on the nighttime hayride? Is it every night? cost? time?

thats very interesting........when I was at the dike I noticed they were pumping water out of the canal back into bay lake with a diesel generator......meaning there is no electricity at the cabin/ dike area.......and I doubt like hell they ran a audio cable from the marina to the dike........if there is music (IF) its definately transmitted wireless.......that would explain absolutely no speakers........

I wish we knew someone who has been there when the mystery music was playing........

Yea, we probably shouldn't be telling everyone about where you can hear the music for the fireworks, soon it will be just another "secret" place at the Fort that is no longer secret.

From now on, we will only talk about the secret spot to listen to the music with the fireworks, we will not give directions...lol.

You're trying to egg this on, please stop. Numerous people in this thread have said they have gone and listened to the music behind the 300 loop for the fireworks. Why do you continue to say that none of us are saying we've heard it, when lots of people obviously have??? All you are trying to do is cause another argument, 3 people alone in this thread have said they have listened to the music behind the 300 loop, yet you continue to call all of us liars.

Yes, I've been there and it comes from speakers. Just like three or four other people have said in this thread as well. Even on a great night you wouldn't be able to hear the music from the MK in that location, you can't even hear it from the Polynesian/Contemporary which are much closer. And even if you could, it would be barely audible. These are speakers in the ground, the same one's that Disney has hidden throughout the Fort over the years.

Why do you care where the speakers are actually located?? For all I know, they could be in fake rocks, fake tree stumps, etc. Disney has excellent ways to disguise things. And, they probably use conduit so they can bury the speaker wires and electricity underground.

The cabin on Bay Lake that you refer to (so that OP's don't confuse that one with the Cabin Homes you stay in) has been there since at least 1974 (the first time I saw it) when it was used to sell snacks from when FtW had The Marshmallow Marsh Canoe Trip.

You obviously need proof as to the existance of these speakers so, the next time you are at FtW, I suggest you go on an excursion to find the speakers, take pictures of them and put the pictures in a scrapbook to treasure and remember for all time.

BTW - When is your next trip to FtW planned for?

We were back behind the 300 loop in I think Oct of 06 or 05. We took a carriage ride, and told them we wanted to watch the fireworks, not go on the ride to the wilderness lodge. We were taken to the beach behind the 300 loop. The hayride wagon was already there, full of people. There was also a WDW pickup there, with it's doors open. The hallowishes fireworks started, and the sound, THAT NIGHT, was coming from the speakers in the pickup truck. When the show was over, I briefly spoke to the disney employee in the truck. Then we resumed our carriage ride.

We have also been back there, on another carriage ride, during fireworks time, and we were the only one's there. No music was heard that time.

Colson39
03-20-2008, 11:54 AM
Yea, I think that was what was alluded to before, that they play the music over certain channels on the frequencies, so probably the pickup trucks can pick up that music on their scanners.

Unfortunately Fort Wilderness speakers have a tendency of breaking down a lot, it's happened at the marina, at the walking path to the Settlement, I swear they don't have much luck with their speakers. Not really sure why either, they shouldn't be any different from anyone else's, and it's not like it rains more than any other place in Florida. They must need to hire a new electrician...lol

I had a CM at the marina tell me that there are speakers, and music from MK is piped in, but they are frequently not working. :( He sounded very frustrated about it himself (I suppose people are always complaining about it to him).

Anyway, I guess that solves the mystery! They are there, we just can't always hear them because they're not always working!

If they're working the next time we're there, I'll pinpoint the location and let everyone here know! :thumbsup2

Ok, well I'm not going to sit here and let people read a bunch of immature and juvenile back and forth, it's annoying to other posters. We are here trying to give info to people, not to see how many kiddie games we can play. You've ignored all the information multiple people have given you, you have basically called all of us liars, and you continue to suggest that because you weren't able to find the speakers, they must not exist (even though NUMEROUS people have told you they do in this thread).

For the last time, there is music, there are speakers, sorry we don't have a specific map to show you exactly where they are. As Debbie suggested, maybe next time you visit the Fort you can take pictures and have them to use as reference :)

But you're right, I did respond, and I shouldn't have. Sorry to all the other posters for letting myself be continuously baited into an argument in this thread, I hope you got the info you were looking for.

On that note, I have a 3 day weekend starting in about 2 minutes. I'll let you guys continue to argue with him if you want to, I'm done...lol ;)

Trust me, myself and others have tried...lol. No worries, Rhonda gave me a great bit of advice a while back, and that was just to ignore him and he'll go away. I'm able to do that as long as no one makes up stories and/or calls us liars. I just don't like the people that actually come here to get information to have to deal with the immaturity (of both of us to be honest).

But it wasn't like I was the only person talking about the speakers here, heck, even the moderator of this forum came in to say there were speakers, along with numerous other people. The problem is I don't want people coming into this thread looking for information and having to deal with all this immaturity, when it's obvious that numerous people have heard the speakers. It's just a disservice to those actually looking for information, which in the end, is what this forum should be about.
