Is it really needed to have one ?
Is there a discount for longer stays ?
Paying 50.00 a day is a bit steep for 3 mths !
If we plan to drive to the parks each day so we need to have one ?

You are staying for 3 months ?? You would be much better off just buying your own golf cart !! There is a small discount when you rent by the week.

There is off site golf cart rentals that would be cheaper for that length of time. http://www.title-3.com/FWFacts.htm A golf cart is not needed but it sure makes it more enjoyable and makes gett'n round easier.

If everyone in your party can ride bicycles then you could get by, IMHO. If not, a cart is almost as necessity.

I wouldn't say that a cart is a necessity. Our first 2 trips, 8 days in 12/2003 and 9 days in 6/2007 we didn't have a cart for either trip. That's not to say I wouldn't have like to have had a cart to do a little more exploring about the campground. But it isn't a necessity. That being said, I just bought a used cart this year so I'll have one for our next trip to the fort.

Order of necessity at the fort:
1. Oxygen
2. Alcohol
3. Food/Water
4. Shelter
5. Golf cart

Renting a cart for 3 months! Lets just say there is 30 days to a month at $50 bucks a day thats $4500.00 plus tax. You could buy a pretty nice cart for that much money. Tungpo1 could probably set you up with something cheaper then that, maybe.

If you have the Scarole to stay at the Fort for 3 months, why are you worrying about the price of a cart. For $300/month I'll rent you mine.

Dang, I would have given you $500 for 12 days if I had known.... much rather give it to you than to the giant rat.

John, for you I would have just charged trailer rental and gas, maybe a miller Lite.

Now you tell me, we gave the giant rat $530 some for the 12 days. He got enough of our money, he didn't need more.:lmao:

Because the cost of renting one is the same as the price for the campsite !
I wish we could just buy one but since we are coming from Canada I would have no way to get it there. Guess I should see about getting one somewhere else then.

What was the topic again....:confused3 Oh wait, golf carts and I did already answer, lol. :thumbsup2
I can add to my first reply though....I do believe golf carts are one of the best parts of FW. They are very convienant..especially at night when it's too dark for the kids to ride their bikes and you don't want to have to wait for the buses. Although you may not "need" one, they are part of the fun.

Is it really needed to have one ? Yes! DO NOT listen to the naysayers, bikesayers or bussayers. They get left behind all the time. Trust me, it is far more fun to watch them in the rear view mirror.:thumbsup2 :
Is there a discount for longer stays ? I doubt it. :sad2:
Paying 50.00 a day is a bit steep for 3 mths ! Well, it is Disney and ain't nothin' cheap so the answer is maybe.:thumbsup2
If we plan to drive to the parks each day so we need to have one?"] Your car or the Cart? Either way, the answer is Yes!:thumbsup2

It's not necessary, but it really helps. Especially if you are going to be at the Fort for 3 months. However, as others have said, I would really look into renting one outside of Disney and bringing it in, it would be cheaper, and there really is no reason to rent from Disney for that amount of time (I've never even heard of anyone renting for over a month...lol).
You can get anywhere in the Fort by walking, however, if you're going to be there for 3 months, you might get sick of walking after a while (depending on where your campsite is). If you're going to be up near the front of the Fort, it definitely will be a little bit of a walk to get up to the docks/trading posts/etc...

I believe some kind of campground transportation would greatly enhance your camping at the Fort and all other campgrounds. Have you thought of electric scooters. we have done that and seen other at the Fort. they are fun and get you from here to there quite well.

Ok so I need to look into some outside rentals then lol. I like the idea of the electric scooters. And I suspect we could fit those into the trailer much easier than a golf cart lol.

Colson, didn't you mean you CAN get anywhere in the Fort by walking. One little apostrophe and "t" can sure change the meaning of a sentence :)

You could probably find a nice cart for 3500. You could always buy one like that, enjoy your trip while saving 1000 on cart rental. Then when you are ready to leave, I will come to the fort and take it off your hands. I know it's an inconvienence for me to have to come down and get a free golf cart but, If it will save you money I guess I can make that sacrifice..:lmao:
If I could get several people to let me "help" them out like that, I could become " the rental guy ".
