Yes I know there are some people here who LOVE this resort. But I have been reading some really poor reviews on the net. (yeah I already know I read to much)...
I had to go with CS since our trip was so unexpected and nothing else was available...this trip will have a good bit of focus on the resort.
Will my kids have fun? They are still little...Is it a good resort for a first visit? This is my best friends first visit to the world...
Should I just shut up and enjoy it?? LOL

I wouldn't be too concerned about reading negative reports. Every resort gets those from time to time. CSR is a beautiful resort and I'm sure the kids will have a blast. Different resorts may appeal more to certain folks (one will love GF, another Contemp) but all of them offer a wonderful experience.
kinlaw,
I stayed there last year for the first time after only having stayed at deluxe resorts. I only say that because I was unsure what the difference in the resorts would be between mods and deluxes. I have to say that I loved this resort. DD 3yo and I had a super time there, and spent most of the time relaxing at the pool, renting bikes to ride around the lake, renting peddle boats, walking around the lake at night. I saw young boys fishing, (you can rent fishing poles at the marina), there are fish/duck food dispensers, so you could easily unload fifty dollars on fish/duck food with little kids. It is really fun to just walk around and look at the different areas, cabana, casita, and I can't remember the name of the other. Each area has a quiet pool, and there is the main pool. The main pool has a slide, great playground, and a kiddie pool. There is hair braiding at the pool, and a great pool bar with food. There is also a game room there. The bus transportation from the resort was very efficient. I loved the gift shop with its many Mexican items. We had fun just looking around in there. I even came home with a pottery dog who has an ear of corn in his mouth. Very weird, but we love him and named him Josea. We had a corner room on the second floor near the pool. The room was pretty big for what I expected. There is a coffee maker in the room. We just had a great time. You can sit on the little beach area at the cabanas or rest in a hammock there. I really felt I was near Mexico or at least in the Amer Southwest when I stayed there. We liked it a lot, and would definitely, definitely stay there again. Don't set you sights so high that you will set yourself up to be disappointed. It might help to look for all the great things about the resort, and look right past anything that you don't like. The landscaping is beautiful also.

DW & I were "blown away" by CS last trip. It is a beautiful resort! The Dig Site should be a big hit with your kids. The food court has alot of good selections. This is our favorite resort!

We went over to CS to use connections vouchers at the Pepper Market. The food was good. Then we really enjoyed ourselves walking around the lake, and visiting the various gardens and pools, lovely resort.

My wife and I stayed there on our honeymoon in 98 and just loved the place it was so beautiful and the pepper market has some really great food I really like the way they do things there to with the food card you just get stamps on the card for what you have eaten then you pay for it on the way out it was really great. We went back for a visit this past Dec while we were there and spent an hour just walking around the lake on the pathway and looking at the pool my 5 year old wants to go there next time but it will be a few years till we stay there again. We need to try all of the DVC resorts first hehehe. Anyhow this resort does appeal to a wide range of people and has alot to offer everyone from the business person to the vacationing family. I also found the rooms to be very large I am attributing this to the fact it is geared to Corporate conventions and large numbers of them

We have been to Coronado Springs several times. We will be going again in a few days. We always seem to return here. We have stayed at several disney resorts from OKW to PO but CS seems to be the place we love beside OKW. Many people will be negative and complain about many of the resorts but the magic of Disney is what it is all about. No matter where you stay your time will be as great as you make it. CS has the greatest pool we have been to and the resort itself is truly beautiful. Our youngest son will be leaving for college this August and we have created many years of magic! Go and just enjoy, let Disney take care of everything and just have fun! Adios!:) :)

Well put dizzy4shore It really is a great trip if you don't let what others tell you infuence your decisions or make you apprehensive going into a place. I totally agree that you go to Disney for the Magic of Disney and if you can't have fun in Disney World then you have no imagination and you should maybe not go there. Just my opinion people

It sure is getting close for Piglet203 and I. We'll be at CSR and WDW in 66 days and we are getting extremely excited. Hearing all of the great reviews about the CSR here on the Disboards is adding to all of the excitement. I can't wait!!!!!

Relax--you are going to love it!! My kids, ages 8 and 5, LOVED the pool at the dig site! We spent a whole afternoon there on one of our off days from the park. Great playground next to the pool, delicious lunch stand and the pool and slide are just great!
Bus service was tremendous--our longest wait was 10 minutes for a AK bus. And we sat in the shelter and watched the MK, Epcot and MGM buses come by literally every 2 minutes. We stayed in the Ranchos building nearest the cabanas area; 2 min walk to dig site, 10 minutes to Pepper Market and Maya Grill. Didn't mind the walk along the lake at all--beautiful and detailed landscaping and the girls loved looking in the water for alligators!(didn't find any.)
But, I'll be quiet now...don't want anyone else to find out about this gem!!
