I had LASIK last month, it went very very well!!
I am a swimmer. I took my first dip this morning -- swam laps with goggles (very excited! I can see!!!) then I took them off and looked underwater......and much to my surprise, it was all blurry!!!
I had "assumed" once you can see 20/20, you could see, say, underwater. Obviously it's the water and it's optic properties causing the bluriness, so my dr. suffices.
Anyone else experience this or am I the only dumb-dumb??!!

Even with perfect vision, one cannot see underwater perfectly.

Congrats on your new "sights"!! As Dawn posted, even those of us with near 20/20 vision have blurry underwater experiences, sadly! Thank goodness for goggles, LOL!

I haven't been swimming yet but I am also 4-1/2 weeks post-op and I can see great now. I love it! :cool1: Anyway, glad to hear that if my vision is blurry under water, I don't have to worry about it. :)

I'm so glad your procedure went well! I had PRK in October last year, it sucked recovery-wise, but I can see 20-15 in one eye and 20-20 in the other.
I never open my eyes underwater, I have super sensitive eyes, so I've never noticed. I might have to try it out.

I had Lasik about 8 years ago, best thing I have ever done for myself!!! I wish I had done it sooner.
I can't swim so I can't help with that question...but I found I cannot peel onions!! I don't know if my contacts helped protect my eyes or what?! Now it's like the fumes just go right in my eyes!
