Some of you may know that I joined TaeKwonDo in January. I am 100+ pounds overweight. Tae Kwon Do is something I have wanted to do for a while (my kids do it, DS just got his first degree black belt on Saturday:woohoo: ,and DD just got her blue belt tonight:cheer2: ), but I felt at my weight I couldn't do it. I decided I was going to give it a try and the master instructor has been wonderful.

WELL.... tonight I had my first testing.... And I got my yellow belt! :yay: I broke my first board and I am so excited!!!!:woohoo: I put that board up on the mantel because I am so proud of it!:cool1: :thumbsup2

I am so proud of myself, and I haven't had that in a really, really, really, long time. I can't even put into words how proud I am and the sense of accomplishment I have about it.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this with all of you and to tell you to go for your dreams. It will feel great!!!!!

Thanks guys! I couldn't even sleep last night, I was so energized!!! I kept reliving everything in my mind. I wrote about it in my journal, and plan to give my master instructor a copy of it with a thank you note. Without his compassion and faith in me, I wouldn't have tried it. I would have sat on the sidelines for God knows how long.

First you get your black belt, and then when you go on for your first degree black belt, he has you read an essay you wrote on what Tae Kwon Do means to you. I spent alot of time last night imagining my speech on that. (So I guess I am in it to get that first degree....:goodvibes ) Anyhow the speech starts like this....What has Tae Kwon do done for me? Quite simply it has saved my life.....

I can feel it. I will get off the blood pressure meds, I will not be in danger from pre-diabetes, I will not be morbidly obese. I will be fit, and one major Tae Kwon Do (insert the "B" word (rymes with witch)- LOL!)

I love TAE KWON DO!!!!
