Do you remember the old "Battle of the Network Stars" show? It's kind of like that, except with the stars of various Disney Channel shows from around the world. They form teams and compete against each other in sporting events, all to raise money for charity. Some of them also sing in concerts that are scheduled throughout the games. The whole thing is taped and highlights are broadcast later on the Disney Channel.

It still has the ordering info for 2007, but the procedure will probably be similar this year. Basically, when tickets are made available for 2008, you just email Event Services and ask for some (limit of 4). :thumbsup2

I heard a rumor that The Jonas Brothers have said that they will be participating.I would be SHOCKED if Miley Cyrus does not participate.I would also not be suprised if Billy Ray Cyrus participates in some capacity this year-he was participating in Dancing with the Stars during the taping of last year's Games.As for the HSM Stars,I understand that HSM3 is scheduled to begin filming this Spring,so I don't know how that will affect their participation.:)

Also, Mitchel Musso is now a voice in Phineas & Ferb, so I would think he probably would be too... also you're probably right about the Jonas Brothers, since they're about to be in Camp Rock & J.O.N.A.S on DC. The daily tapings were NOT crowded,I think because the Florida schools were still in session,so it was mainly tourists on vacation at the tapings.The taping of the DCG Concert on Friday night was PACKED,again I think because it was Friday night and the local kids were out of school and able to attend.The DCG are taped at Disney's Wide World of Sports at Champion Stadium which has thousands of seats.:)

LAST year tickets were only required for the Friday night concert.The daily tapings were come and go as you please.If tickets are required for any portion of this year's event I would think everyone who is aware of the process as soon as it is announced would have a great chance.:)

The ticket information has not been released yet,so keep checking DisneyChannel.com periodically.LAST year ALL daily tapings were open to the public-you could attend as many days as you wanted to.The only taping that required a ticket was the DCG Concert.One very interesting possibility for this year's DCG is a FanFest on April 30.I don't know what the term FanFest means ,but I would think it might be an opportunity for pictures and autographs with the DCG Stars.There was no such "meet and greet' last year,but the DCG Stars would sometimes come over to the fans and sign autographs for a while.It was fun,though,trying to see how many different autographs you could "collect".:)

The DCG are held at Champion Stadium at Disney's Wide World of Sports.The majority of the "games" are held in the outfield.IIRC,the dunking booth competition was held in the infield and the DCG Concest stage was at the beginning of the outfield facing the infield and the stands.:)

Yes,I have an AP and just requested 6 tickets.I have not received confirmation yet.These are tickets are for the DCG Concert on May 3 and only 6 can be requested per Passholder.There is no other information on the Passholder announcement other than DCG Concert information,but I would be greatly surprised if the daily tapings are not come and go as you please like last year with no ticket required.:)

I received my ticket confirmation about 2 hours ago. The choices were seats or stand in the field up near the stage. I requested stand up near the stage tickets and got them.

She also clarified that this is 6 tickets per household, not per passholder. Both my husband and I sent emails, we have different last names, and we did not give our address in the emails, so they do look you up.

There are a vast array of Disney transportation options to and from Disney's Wide World of Sports-bus from Disney's Hollywood Studios to Disney's Wide World of Sports and vice-versa and bus from Disney's Hollywood Studios to Disney's Wide World of Sports and vice-versa.;) :) Seriously,that's it-there is only one route.When leaving WWoS,if DHS has closed for the night,the bus from WWoS goes to DTD.The only other options are car or taxi.The parking lot was PACKED,PACKED,PACKED last year.:)

Yes,I received confirmation today!:) Last year the tapings were basically on and off for most of the morning/afternoon.You could basically stay there all day if you wanted to.The Champion Stadium concessions stands were open as well as the merchandise shop(surprise,surprise;) :) ).I think more information as to what events will be held on which days,etc.may be forthcoming the closer it gets to the DCG.As for being an "extra" I would suggets that you send an e-mail requesting that information the the same address that is being used for ticket requests and they can probably provide you with some information as to whether that would be possible.:)

I am a LITTLE concerned that Miley was not announced as a performer at the DCG Concert.However,I will be totally shocked if she doesn't participate-it just would not seem right if she wasn't there.She was SO nice last year.My theory is that the "surprise performers" will be Miley AND Billy Ray Cyrus.:) FanFest was announced on LaughingPlace and has not been announced by Disney,so nothing is official.There was no other information as to what it would entail,but I would guess it would be a picture/autograph opportunity with the Stars open to everyone.There was nothing like that last year-autographs were on a "get them when you can basis".Also cameras were not allowed into Champion Stadium,but I saw several devices that looked a lot like cameras in the Stadium.;) :)

We went to the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert a couple of weekends ago in Houston. Miley sang with her Dad. It was very sweet. Since then, I have heard nothing but HM/MC music playing upstairs. Our kids are BIG fans. Even our two year old went to the concert and had a ball. He calls her Montana. Keeping my fingers crossed that she will at least participate. :rolleyes1 If she's at the concert, that will be an extra bonus. :goodvibes

The official information for the concert says no cameras or recording devices. But, someone told me they saw personal cameras last year. Personally, I plan to take our small camera to the day events and the concert. I think they don't want people video taping the concert and events. :sad2:

Last year there was bag check area you had to go through before entering the stadium.They would not let anyone in with a camera-still or video,BUT they were letting people in with cellphones which many times contain cameras.:) Also ,I think some people "accidentally" forgot they had a camera in their pocket out of view.:)The Security Guards would try to stop people from taking pictures at times,but there was just too much picture-taking going on for them to be everywhere it was happening.The DCG Stars did not seem to mind the cameras at all-I never heard any of them complain.The Official Policy does not contain any gray area-cameras of any kind are not supposed to be brought into the stadium so do whatever you are comfortable with.:)

If you read the curent announcement closely,there seems to be information that does not coincide.In one part it says ticket requests can be made "BEGINNING March 25" and in another part it says "come back AFTER March 25 for more information".I don't know if the "BEGINNING March 25" is an error or if the "come back after March 25 for more information" does not refer to ticket requests,but to actual information such as a list of DC Stars participating,etc.:) Regardless,if it is today or tomporrow,I can ASSURE you that all tickets were not given to Passholders.Just keep checking the website and eventually it will change and there will be an email address there to use.:)

By "opening" the email I address I mean removing the auto-return email that is now being used and allowing emails to "go through" and be processed.As long as they have the auto-return email being generated emails will not be processed.:)

Well I just tried to get tickets and they said they are no longer accepting them. It said they are at capacity. I am really disapponted because they haven't ever even changed the original info page to include the email address. I figured they would when they started accepting requests. Oh well... I thought it was too good to be true. :sad1:

I sent mine also at exactly midnight and received ticket confirmation at around 12:30pm today....

Other have posted under a different thread that the tickets are sold out already.

I just wanted to let everyone know that a poster on another board posted that they are now considering CLOSING the daily tapings of the DCG to the General Public.That was REALLY surprising news to me because I had just emailed dcgames2008 a few days ago asking for confirmation that the DCG daily tapings woulod again be open to the public and I received a return email confirming that it would be an open taping.

Maybe if we all 'put our heads' together we can figure out a way to get the right info from somebody. I have called Disney multiple times and nobody knows anything!!!!

Do you think they are keeping it quiet until the last minute to avoid super big crowds? Someone posted earlier that they know one of the casting directors. Maybe we can all put out a plea to please post info so that those of us traveling to Orland for the sole purpose of the games aren't coming down for nothing.

Any ideas?????

I think I am out of ideas!LOL:) It is really becoming confusing!:) As I said earlier I just received confirmation a few days ago that the DCG tapings would be open like last year and now a poster is saying they may not be.I don't know why they would close the tapings because I would think they would want a good crowd for the "background" in the "shots".Last year the crowds at the tapings were VERY manageable,so the only thing I can think of is that they think that the popularity of the DCG has grown so much from last year that they are worried about crowd control.The poster who posted that information has not returned yet-hopefully they will soon with more information.:)

The popularity has increased alot though.
I mean considering the Jonas Brothers are appearing and performing alot of people have been after these tickets!

Plus, its easy to meet celebrities and get things signed by lots of your favorite disney actors, and its FREE!

But I didn't send multiple requests so I'm assuming that everyone gets that.

The poster who posted information on another board yesterday indicating that the DCG daily tapings may be closed has NOW posted that the daily tapings will be open.The poster stated that the public will be allowed to come in and sit in the stadium,but the tapings will not be spectator friendly like last year.I do not understand what that means -if you are sitting in the stadium,you can SEE the Games happening on the field-why is that not spectator friendly?:)

Last year they did tapings everyday for most of the morning/afternoon hours.They had different games scheduled for each day.They have already announced that the public is welcome to enter the stadium and watch.I would expect more details about the Games to be forthcoming soon.:)

Thank you! My kids would be too restless for the concert anyway, but an hour or so watching the games could be really fun! I have to go over there to pick up my registration packet for the 5K that weekend anyway. :)

I just wanted to emphasis that Disney is stressing that the DCG will be different from last year and not as "spectator-friendly".:) If you do go however I think you WILL see some of the Stars and since you are going anyway to pick up your packet,you have nothing to lose.:) Perfect.:)
