Here we go again. This is Thread #4 of the BOB threads.

The following is the same as the other first posts. For those of you new to our DIS Meet thread - WELCOME. There is plenty of good info in this post.
As usual, I'll be back here to update this post periodically. I will try to keep important information up here for all to reference as well as for all our new friends who come to cruise with us. If something of importants comes up, PM me and I will add the link.
We have dubbed this cruise "The Bash on the Boat" because so many people are celebrating birthdays or anniversaries on this cruise. You will also see "KK2" in the title. As you will read, many of us just sailed together on the 10/20/07 Western Cruise. So, with many of us returning here, we are dubbing this KK2. For those of you who didn't sail with us, please don't feel that you are not part of the group. We are a very open and welcoming/friendly bunch. We had such a great cruise last time, but feel it will be even better this time. Come along and enjoy the fun. We will get off-topic many times over the next 2 years, but it is a great way to get to know everyone.
First, here is the list of Characters:
2Princes_&_1Princess = Brandee and Justin and their 3 kids. Florida.
A Fat English Gent = Chirs and Hazel and their 3 kids. England.
arielhead = Tanya and DH with their DD (will be 14) and DS (will be 9). West Virginia.
B9erSteve = Steve and Laura. They will be traveling with their DS and DD. California.
CarrianneB = Carrianne and Rob with their 2 DS who will be 7 and 9. Wisconsin.
Cheryl N. WI = Cheryl and Al with their DD who will be 15. Wisconsin.
cntkg1 = Nancy and Chuck (a.k.a. Charlie Tuna). Wisconsin.
Disgrits = Paige and Rob. Virginia.
DISNEYDUET = Shelley and Woody. Virginia.
Dyerneeds/Tart Annihilator = Mike and Robin. Ohio.
goofyfreak = Lori and Scott with their 3 kids (also extended family). Virginia.
GOS = Heather and Rick. England.
hockeychic = Kim and her DD who will be 17. Canada.
JENNANDJARYD = Jen and her DS who will be 12. Colorado.
JLDSMD = that is me, Jeff. I'm traveling with my wife, Suz and our DS who will be 9. Wisconsin.
Karen Mouse = Karen and Neil and their DS who will also be 9. England.
medicalman = Sean and Cath with their DD. England.
millerpjm = Jen and Pete with their DS who will be 6. Wisconsin.
minnieandmickey = Becky and Sean. California.
Oybolshoi = Brenda and Jason. Missouri.
ST Cruisers = Tony and Stacy. Wisconsin.
Team Fun Pants = Kristin and Jesse. Wisconsin.
Timon/Darkrobe = Cass and Rob. Canada.
tinkerbellmom1 = Sheri and Pat with 2 DS (17 & 15 at time of sailing). Nevada.
Walt & Di = Walt and Di (pretty easy to remember that one). Texas.
Verandah Man = Andy (a DIS board legend) and Hazel. New Jersey.
I will try to update that list as we go. If I forgot anyone or if you want different info posted, please PM me. I will NOT be putting room numbers up on this post.
A good place to start for planning this trip would be Cass' website. She has done a great job to organize almost everything you'll need for this cruise and posting here on the BOB board. Here is the link to her site: http://www.cassworld.ca/bobers.htm
Here are links to posts that we found important through this and the previous 2 threads.

Suz and I went there by ourselves on the first day and they sit you alone.
You can join the group or go off on your own if you'd like a nice quiet lunch (just don't go when we're in there - we'll be pretty rowdy I'm sure).
I asked when we got there but there were no tables for two and they didn't want to use a table for 4 with just 2 people. It was a little busy so maybe that's why :confused3

We had lunch with my MIL and FIL on Sunday. So, they've given me their favorite character picks for their t-shirts. MIL wants tink for her shirt - no problem, I already have clipart - no sweat. FIL wants Elliot from Pete's Dragon, which is proving to be a bit tougher. If anyone happens across any decent clipart of Elliott, please let me know!

Was there a specific day for the Lumiere's lunch that was decided on? I think Monday is the afternoon pool meet at Quiet Cove, so is lunch on a different sea day?

We were seated for lunch at PC with another couple once...it was ok, but they had just come from the DVC presentation, so you could tell they probably wanted to be by themselves to discuss it. It turned out ok though.
We also had tablemates we didn't know for dinner, and that was...:confused3 ok I guess, but I'm looking forward to not having to worry about that this time.

We were the first ones in the day we went I think. They just put us at a table for 4 (just the 2 of us).
Other people came in, but didn't sit them near us. The waiter we had was either our dinner waiter or the one that we first had when we went to Parrot Cay upon boarding, so maybe they kept us alone.

It will be a sea day, even though they do it on port days as well (I believe).
Wasn't sure if Monday before the Quiet Cove meet would be too much. If so, then I think that leaves us with Thursday. I only say that because the first day (Sunday) people may want to do the first lunch with their family (although kids are welcome in Lumiere's for lunch).
I'm fine with Sunday though too.
Do we want to poll it?

Yeah Baby!!!!!!
What time do they open the terminal in CA? Can we get in as early as 10:00? Anyone know what they do in the terminal there? I know it won't be as nice as FL.
We're still trying to decide on a hotel for the 2 nights were at DL. I think we have the one before the cruise pinned down.
Not sure what we're doing on Saturday though. Our original thought was to go to San Diego for something (SeaWorld, Zoo, Legoland, etc - only one), but I think we may be pushing it (and DS) too much. We land in LA on Thursday night around 11:00 p.m. (1:00 a.m. Friday our time) and then will be in DL all day/night on Friday. I think to push him again on Saturday may be a little too much. My uncle was in over the weekend for my G'ma's b-day and he said we should do lunch when we're in town (he lives up in Woodland Hills). I think maybe it would be better to sleep in Saturday, drive out there and then go to our hotel in the evening down in Long Beach.

I'm well past the time where we use to celebrate (get drunk and stupid). Now I just get stupid. :rotfl2:
Can you believe we're sailing in 5 months on the Repo?
I saw you posted something from the DS. Have you been following along? I think a lot of those days are up in the air. They are adamant that Pirate night HAS TO occure IN the Caribbean. Sorry, WB is on a Mexico night. DCL doesn't have anything in the system right now (sometimes I get a good agent and they tell you some stuff).
The days you list though are pretty close to what will probably be though. I put a list together once and forgot what I put on what days. I just hope they have it set before our 90 day mark. Otherwise, I may end up in Palo on a night that I don't want to be there.

Hey Shelley!
The basement is done, and the workers have left - they did a good job. The forecast says either rain or snow possible, so we may get a test tonight! I'm just glad it's done, but I can't move my stuff back into my storeroom for at least a week- I wasn't anticipating that. So, I will have stuff all over my basement for a while longer.
We don't have anything planned for tonight, but I did buy us some donuts with green frosting for dessert tonight (bad Bobaloser, I know) so DS will like that. Other than that, a quiet night at home.

Not doing so bad...seeing as it's a Monday. No..we don't celebrate Paddy's day over here in the UK. Some of my colleagues have actually gone over to Ireland to celebrate. No doubt they will return with super hangovers.
I have been keeping an eye on the DS - only so that I pick up any advance information. Interesting info on dinner though. Hopefully DCL will confirm things pretty soon. We don't have any cabin number yet. Patience..I hear you say.

I wish I would have gotten started sooner, but that's ok. If I have to spend the time on my scrapbook for 2007, then I won't go crazy yet making t-shirts, FE's, door signs 19 months in advance! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I did make a small, 40 page book for Thomas when we got home - he had that before Christmas. And I had put some of the photos in an album just to show people until I got my scrapbook done.
I have WAY too many photos though...it's going to take me forever to scrap them all!

Hazel calls me from the grocery store this afternoon, "Hon, I was going to make Ham and Cabbage for dinner, but the store doesn't have any ham just Corn Beef." My reply, "Well, today is St. Patty's Day and Corn Beef is a big seller for St. Patty's Day." Hazel's reply, "Really, I didn't know that."
So, we had baked chicken with thousand island dressing, some kind of rice-a-roni, and green beans. Well, at least she got some green in there with the green beans..............:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Now, you see what I have to put up with.............:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
That, and a Stinky Teen who is not getting her way today and is sulking in her bedroom, I am sooooooooooo ready to run away from home...............

Found out yesterday I might be able to get 5% off my xmas holiday with Virgin - we were "frequent virgins" foryears allowing us 10% off but they stopped it, however, someone told me they still got it so I'm going to call tomorrow and check... 5% back would be a nice:cool1: - it would pay for the park passes into Universal!

We're Frequent Virgins too...Andy. We hoped to bag free Upper Class return tickets in September..but with the school holidays just ending there were none on offer. Saving our miles for 2009.
Mind you we did get one free flight going out though....so some good news and we both earn miles on the return journey.

I love corn beef... I make a mean cornbeef pie!
chop up finely some onions and potatoes and a tin of cornbeef in a processor, crumble in an oxo cube (do you have that over there?) mix it all together and plop into a pastry case. pastry lattice on top and bake - its that easy and tastes delicious! It was the first thing we made at school in my first cookery lesson and I still make it now:goodvibes

Question for you all (Jeff, Chris & Becky) - fancy a evening in Palos?
We will be going to Palo, so we'd be up for it. Not sure what night though. I did see something on the DS about them going on the PV night. Maybe we should pick a night that we are pretty certain there isn't a theme night.
What is going on with the dining? You mentioned some interesting info.
As for room numbers, at what point did the WB Repo get theirs? I've had mine since Day 1. I got on early enough to select my room. Hopefully you'll get yours soon.

As for the EB DIS thread dining...the thread are arranging group bookings in dining rooms, one for early and one for late dining. I think it will be pretty noisy in these dining rooms.

OK, now I'm asking for help from those parents of older teenage children, past or present. I have off until next Tuesday. If you remember correctly our Spring Break trip to Florida got shot down by a very stinky teenager that resides in our house, but I won't mention her name to protect her identity.
So, a few minutes ago, I ask this said teenager if she would like to go to http://www.willowvalley.com for a couple of days, going up tomorrow and coming home Thursday in time for a Sweet 16 Birthday Party this said teenager is going to. The reply I got was, "Ummmmmm no, I don't think so." We went to this resort a little over a year ago for two nights and had a very nice time. Pics from that trip: http://family.webshots.com/album/555456172peNYIe
A few questions to my fellow parents:
"At what age did you leave your teenager at home alone for the first time?"
"How long did you leave them at home alone?"
"Did you regret leaving your teenager at home alone?"
To be serious, I'm feeling trapped and I really need to get away, but I'm just not sure about leaving "the kid" alone for a couple of days. We really don't have anyone close by that I would trust with the said teenager, being "over protective" like we are.
I know Hazel and I will most likely stay home this week, but your advice could come in handy for a later trip. Oh yeah, my "said teenager" is 17yrs, 6mths old.

Andy my parents left me at home when I was 17 for a week. My brother had a soccor tournament and I had dance class so I couldn't miss it. It was fine since I was able to drive myself anywhere I needed to go and I was not a wild child. We also had plenty of neighbors to watch out for me.

Luckily, my said teenager is not a wild child either, but she doesn't have her driver's license. Her best friend Trish (age18) is coming back from the senior trip tomorrow night, but I don't know if her parents would let her come and spend two nights with my said teenager after being away for the past four nights.

Andy, I've left Sean for 2 nights alone when we went to the Steelers game in
PA last November.
He had his license so he could go out if he needed and to work, but he never really went anywhere but work.
The house didn't burn down, he only has 2 friends and only 1 came over to visit at all, he actually even fed the cats and cleaned their litter box (well, only once).
But it worked out fine.
He was just over 17 then, 17 and 3 months.

all right andy you asked for it....
cassie always went everywhere with us. but the summer after her junior year she didnt want to go to wdw with us so she stayed at her brothers house.
we lived out in the country and it got pretty dark out there at nite so we felt safer.(and she did too)
now our ds on the other hand...:rolleyes1
the summer he graduated HS he decided he didnt want to go to wdw so we left him home.(he was 18)
got back from florida and the first thing we noticed was our basketball hoop pole was bent.(he didnt know how) then a day or so later i was running the sweeper and it was smoking hot. took it apart and it was jam packed with
wood shavings from the guinea pigs cage. little by little over the next few days we pieced together that there was one HECK of a party at our house.
  a friend of his was drunk and had hit our bball pole with his truck.
apparently someone had tipped the gpig cage over and they tried to clean it up with the sweeper till it was jammed full and burning up the motor.:headache:
not to mention the pyramid of cans that was stacked in front of our fireplace.
needless to say we were not happy campers.
but thats the worst he ever did. he was always a good kid(still is)
seems funny now, but not then.:headache:

What other big "themes" has Disney really had in the past couple years?
I don't think they will get rid of the fireworks, so the theme would have to involve those.
Maybe something to do with Princesses, but that would isolate the boys. I think you would still need Pirates for them.
Maybe go back to a Tropical type theme and deck party.
I don't think they'll do anything this fall regarding that.
Maybe they'll cycle a new show in this year, but Twiced Charmed is not that old. They won't get rid of the Golden Mickey's, so the only one to replace would be Dreams, and I can't see that happening.

I think it started right before our first cruise, and that was in Jan '05.
We have NOT seen the shows other than the first cruise. I always say I'd like to take DS back to them (he was young at that time and would appreciate them more now), but he just wants the club. Suz doesn't want to go to them, so I'd be the weird guy sitting in the back row of the theatre all alone. Wait, that was me one Xmas when my family ditched me. They may have started the fireworks by January 2005. We also sailed in January 2005. Let me look at those Navigators and see if it says anything about fireworks. I can't remember if we had them or not as Hazel wasn't feeling well and we didn't go to the Pirate's Night Party.

As promised from last night, here is the Mickey I drew during the Ducky Williams "Draw Mickey" class during our August 2004 cruise. Now remember, this was my first attempt ever of drawing Mickey.........;)

To Attend a Luncheon at Lumiere's at noon on fill in date here
I just scanned in this pic of Mickey, it was the card that was in our cabin inviting us to the Castaway Club Members gathering in August 2004. I was thinking of maybe writing in the date and time on Mickey's hand in the pic.

Andy, you both did a really good job.
I think we may need to do this on an upcoming cruise. Do you know if they allow kids in that session?

We could almost use that for each of our meets. :thumbsup2
Side note, I miss the old CC gathering they had. I don't like the new one.

Good. I'll plan on taking DS then. I think he'd enjoy it.
I'd be surprised if they didn't offer this on the EB trip.

Morning everyone ... it's been raining like crazy here since last night and I think I'm going to have hitch a ride on a barge to cross the MO river to get to work this morning. :rotfl2:
I just wanted to tell you all to have a great day - I'm "offline" at work due to meetings most of the day. Biggest corporate waste of time ever ... meetings. We all get together and bring down the collective IQ of the company by encouraging stupid ideas ... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
BTW, don't tell my boss I just said that, OK? ;)

No, it is not. The only good thing are the Mickey Rice Krispie Treats. We get a few of those and then take off.
They give you a bottle of water too, so we'll take that with us, put it in the fridge and use it when we go ashore.

We went to the CC reception on our 2005 cruise and it was terrific ... tasty snackables, fruit carvings, free drinks ... that awesome green montster drink: Castaway Punch.
Are you saying it's all gone?
Geez ... at this rate there's nothing left for us to do on the ship but drink coffee and go to the spa ... and eat. ;)
New character breakfast sounds like it's worth missing ... we don't do the shows ... now the CC reception is sucky ... anything else worth missing? :lmao:

Good morning/afternoon all....
Back at work today, but I have a dry basement. It rained last night, but no water in the basement this morning!
Here's the most boring photo I will ever post on the DIS:

They had to bust up the floor, put in the sump and that duct under the window....but hopefully it works!
