I don't see the first entry (Cazzie) as a voting option... which makes it hard for me to vote. :)
(I assume "1756945" is actually "cazzie"?)

I had captured this shot during the daytime before but never at night. Since the curtain only opens momentarily, I wasn't sure if it would be long enough to get enough light for the detail. I started the exposure while the curtain was closed using my wireless remote shutter release. I was of course using my tripod and I was concerned with the number of people walking around me. Luckily no one walked into the tripod or in front of the frame while exposing. I closed the shutter just prior to the curtain closing again. I was actually surprised by the amount of detail on the Evil Queen. I remember thinking, hmmm......that worked out pretty good. It was one of those shots where you just aren't sure what to expect until you try it.
Thanks for the votes!

Wow ~ I was seriously thrilled just to have made it to the final round! :goodvibes This was taken during Fantasmic. We were sitting in the "dinner package" reserved seating area (the right-hand side as you face the stage) about 1/2 the way up the stadium. The best memory about getting this shot was that an extremely nice young couple sat in front of us with the sole purpose of allowing me to take pictures throughout. They saw that I had a tripod set up and they explained that they purposely sat there so that they would give me an unobstructed view! Talk about the magic at Disney! I used a remote shutter release, upped my ISO, and hoped for the best. After some trial and error in the beginning part of the show, I used -2/3EV to get the best exposure. The hardest part was wrestling a gallon-sized ziploc baggie on & off my camera...the water sure does spray on you, and the show moves much more quickly than I had ever remembered! Thank you all for your votes:)

This was an amazing round of entries and I had a very hard time selecting only one to vote for...and for the first time, I didn't even vote for myself. I just couldn't since there were so many that were OBVIOUSLY better. :) Congratulations to the winners.

This shot was from a set taken at Fantasmic! one evening back in December of '06. The set can be seen starting here (http://barbieri.smugmug.com/gallery/2251902_CeUXV#117525146).
I shot in spot meter mode because so much of each scene was very dark. I considered going to manual, but the lighting was so different for each scene that I was afraid I'd spend too much time adjusting.
I liked the picture because of the pose. I'm quite surprised that it won because there are several pictures I liked better in the contest.

I'm already working on my ads: "Need a picture of your evil stepmother? Come to Barbieri's Photography and have her shot by the 2008 Disboards Weekly Photo Contest - Villains winner (who's photo really lost to the 2nd place winner from two years ago)"
