We are on the seven day eastern cruise - can anyone tell me what cell phone services there are at the various ports? St. Martien, St Thomas (St. John) and Castaway Cay.

I used my Nokia and called from Port Canaveral and St. Thomas. There was no signal in St. Marten and I did not look while at Castaway Cay.

What type of service do you have on your phone? ie Sprint, At&T, etc

I have AT&T Digital One-Rate. My cell phone worked up to a few miles from Port Canaveral. After we got to the Bahamas, it worked but was out of the One-Rate area so would require roaming charges.

I know that ATT works because one of our counselors from Common Grounds picked on me because her phone worked and my NEXTEL didnt work in any ports or at sea.

Ahh, it was all in good fun, at least I had the internet to keep in touch with my friends and work. Also, I know that Verizon/Airtouch paging doesnt work at all.

Also, my NEXTEL did work for about the first hour of the cruise after we left Port Canaveral.

We were able to call out in St. Thomas for the first hour or so. Then we couldn't get through for what I am supposing was too much traffic with 5 ships there.

My sprint phone worked in St Thomas.
