Hi All,
I hope it's ok to crash your board to ask these questions!:wave2:

Is there a preferred shipping co (USPS vs UPS vs FedEx)? I did read Tina's helpful post about the new usps $10.95 boxes.
Is there a preferred packing material?

I don't know this person personally, only that she's a she.But I was given a few recommendations. Here's the list of what I have so far:

A "hello" card
Body lotion, spritz and shower gel (3oz tubes)
q-tips
toothpaste
toothbrushes-2
floss
secret deoderant
gold bond powder-1 oz
paperback: Janet Evanovich-twelve sharp
copy of our hometown newspaper

Pkg of rabbit peeps
Dove truffle choc. eggs-5 oz
instant cocoa mix-10 envelopes
4pk of tropical fruit-plastic cups
2 nutrition bars
homemade oatmeal cookies

Anything I should add or delete??? Thanks in advance. I really want this to be nice.

That sounds like a great box of stuff. At your post office are flat rate boxes. I prefer the tall(long shirt like) flat rate boxes. I don't even know if you could send using any other method besides the post office. The post office is fine though. The flat rate shipping can't be beat and the turn around time for a box getting to Iraq is pretty decent right now.

I think for the first box it's great and after having some conversation(if you do) you'll get a better idea of her preferences and if she needs anything. Thank you very much for doing this.

Don't forget about the customs form when picking up a box at the post office.

Most of my females Soldiers out here have the most trouble getting shaving gel for women. The PX out here just carries stuff for men 99% of the time.
