well, I did it. After the unusually high number of requests (strangely enough... almost everyone who asked was british. strange I thought) from guests who've seen my WDW guide, I decided to make a Universal Orlando guide. so here are the current character locations @ USF and IOA. The character locations changed in december with the removal of fievel and family, yogi and ****oo, and dudley do-right. they only do special events now

That was awesome!!!! Thanks for the info. Now, how often to you actually see these characters?

for the most part, you should be able to see them every day. It's a work in progress like my WDW location site, so it will be regularly updated. The next update should be hopefully next week, since I noticed a few characters I omitted (mainly Boris and Natasha, which can be found @ IOA in toon lagoon). So thursday I'm leaving to go back home for a few days, and upon my return next week I'll update it.

why do I have the strangest feeling I know you....:D
WOW! I didn't know that Universal had characters. I have only been to the CA location and we are thinking about spending some time at Universal next Orlando/WDW trip.
My DD is a huge fan of the Wild Thornberry's as well as Rocket Power.
Thanks for the thread!

also, here's some new news: On April 7, the Man in the Big Yellow Hat (from Curious George) will begin to make regular appearances. Like always, all information is subject to change, so check w/ guest relations or a character escort for updated information for that specific day

quick update-
There is now a Scooby Doo photo location inside of the Hanna-Barbera building. It is located in the interactives play area between the ride and the store.
You can meet scooby there (he has his own queue) and take a picture/autograph, and Kodak has photographers there who will also take the picture (kinda like Toontown in WDW)

Hi,
There is now a Spider-Man photo area inside The Marvel Alterniverse Store across from Doom Alley. A backdrop has been added in the rear of the store and Spidey is there pretty much all day (with a Kodak photographer).

Just a quick note that character locations will be changing for summer. I don't have all the information yet as IOA is still deciding. However as of right now Spider-man is making appearances at Port Of Entry at 10:30 am and 11:30am if you missed him in Marvel.

Yes, Fred Flintstone still can be seen in USF with Wilma, Barney and Betty Rubble. They ride out on the cartoon trolley with Popeye and Olive Oyl on Hollywood Blvd. Check on the set times as they may have changed for summer.

The Marx Brothers, Ghostbusters, Blues Brothers, Beetlejuice, MIB Agents, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Woody and Winnie Woodpecker, Curious George, Fievel, Popeye and Olive Oyl (Movie version) Ms Monroe, Laurel & Hardy. That is about all of them at Universal that I have seen.
You'veseen the Marx Brothers, Marilyn and Laurel and Hardy within the last month???
I thought they were discontinued...I was sad to hear that they were going to be replaced...but I hadn't heard that they were still there, nor have I seen them...although we haven't been there much, so that's not surprising! I think they provide some of the best street entertainment there, for the big "kids". I wonder if they were just there for "peak" time in the summer though...
either way, it's nice to know they'll make cameo appearances! ;)

FeeFee White
As far as I know Universal doesn't have a set character breakfast/lunch. However, in Islands of Adventure there is a resturant called "Confiscos" that regularly has Spiderman and Boris & Natasha make appearances during lunchtime. The more people who request a character meal, the more likely it will happen. So please suggest it to Universal.

nWo_Thunder
Ian & Dr. Hammond are no longer in Jurrasic Park. They have been gone for over a year and they are missed. I am not sure where you saw "Dilbert" but it wasn't at IOA. Perhaps you mistook Betty Boop's dog "Bimbo" for Dilbert.
Merlin is also only seen during peak seasons. He shall return come Christmas time.
Also, sadly yes. Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, The Marx Brothers and Laurel and Hardy are still gone. The best character guide is mktiggerman's. If interested contact him for his original post, it really is an excellent guide.

ian malcom has been axed for a while. Mr Hammond may only be added in peak times (i'm not sure). also, at the toon beach bash, they also have Zero from the beetle bailey comic. Zero's the other army guy, who i think has reddish "hair". things 1 & 2 also appear periodically, and the other guy in green eggs (the one sam convinces to try them) makes rounds as well...

Winnie you mean Woody Woodpeckers girlfriend...
Now, on the coaster, it has her name and the two other "brids" names written on the wooden fence structure as the train enters back into the station... in a fun way.. _______ was here, ________was here first, no, ______ was here first, etc...
I want to say one name is Splinter? (wood reference), and two other names..
I can't remember what the other two names are.

I have gotten the word form Universal themselves that they offer character meals at the three hotels on their property. You do not have to be a guest of that hotel to take advantage of this deal.
the telephone number for Universal Orlando is......
1-800-711-0080
Ask the customer service representative for information and they will tell you what you would like to know or connect you to the person that does.
I think they only do dinners and Scooby was one of the main characters for this.

When I went Tuesday the cast of Sinbad was out posing for pictures, I got my pictures with the girls from the show.
Lord Darkennon from Poseidon's Fury was out infront of Mythos posing for pictures.
All the Toons were in Toon Lagoon.
The Marvel Characters were out as always.
The Who's were out in Suess Landing.
Boris & Natashia, Bullwinkle, Spider-Man, Cat in The Hat with Thing 1 & 2 were in Port of Entry.
They were all out in the course of walking the park, I have never seen them all in the park at one time like that before. That was the 2nd time I ever seen the Sinbad cast out and the 1st time seeing Lord Darkennon.

Does Barney walk round the park?, or Yogi and ****oo bear, as the last time I went to Universal studios, I just managed to catch a quick glimpse of Yogi Bear and Boo Bear.

I have seen Barney walking to the back of the park, but not around the park. I have gone to Universal ever since it opened I know Yogi and Boo Boo were characters but I don't remember ever seeing them. I haven't seen them this year and I have gone about 60 times this year, the only "Cartoon" like Hanna-Barbera I see at the park is Scooby Doo. The rest of them are "Live Actor" like how they looked in the films, the Flintstones are the Viva Rock Vegas style.

Saw Jimmy Neutron in front of his soon-to-be-premiered ride last month. That hair-do of his was taller than me!
Directly across the street was Shrek (the costume one, not the make-up one).
The crowd was split, but give the nod to Shrek. (I hope they don't do away with the make-up Shreks!)
