Don't know if i've missed it on here over the last week, but I've just read on magic that the castle is currently under repair, and covered in tarpaulin sheets. No one seems to know how long the work will last, but it will be very disappointing for my daughter in-laws first view of the castle to be like that. I can't see the work being completed in the next 10 days though. Has anyone actually seen this or have any other information?

I've been on DLP last week and i've seen repairs ....

If you're in main street, you'll not see repairs due to the scene of 15 years.
But in the place in front of the castle, you see it "very well" :sad2:

Some people says that repairs will stay 3 or 4 months ...

Sorry ....

I was there last week and I believe I have some pictures so will post tonight, but the tarpulin doesn't cover the actual castle itself as of yet, it is of the walkway up to the castle.

That walkway over the moat is lethal in wet weather - I've seen a few slips and trips there and there is often the yellow warning cones out. Wonder if they are doing something to make it more grippy and less slippy.

I was looking at some pics on dlrpmagic.com and the bridge does look like its in need of a bit of refurbishment.

According to DLP magic it is the supports of the bridge which need repairing - it is totally unplanned maintenance and its not known how long it will take. There are photos on DLP magic which show how bad the supports had become.

Doesnt look brilliant but Id rather it was safe than dangerous

I agree. :)

With a park that's open 365 days a year, there is always going to be occasions when this sort of thing happens. Trouble is, none of us want it to be when we're visiting!

kevg1889, at least it's only the walk-way and not the whole Castle so shouldn't spoil your DIL's first view as she enters the park and walks up Main Street.

I think its me! When we went to WDW there were hoardings up round the castle while they put the 50th decoration up :sad2: But you would still see the turrets, and luckily it had gone by the end of our stay.
