Indiana DVC'ers - Where are you? Chime in here...

Hey fellow Hoosiers! I have seen so many other areas represented, but not IN - or maybe I just missed it, but I thought I'd start a thread for us. Where are you from, and what is/are your home resort(s)? 160 pts at AKV (for now), and looking forward to adding on more at GCV when possible - then who knows what else. We've been in Noblesville for 6 years. Only my daughter is a natural-born hoosier...my younger son is a Michigander, and the rest of us are from from the Golden State...so we're "naturalized hoosiers" but home is where you hang your hat, right? We're looking forward to hanging our hat at AKV many times! :woohoo:

Good for you! "Bout time we had a Hoosier DVC hotline! We are in "suburban" Evansville (southwest corner of the state). DVC was a birthday gift to me in 1993 when our two girls were 10 and 7. All 3 of our contracts are at OKW. We've used our points in many different ways over the years, including our older daughter staying 2 nights at the Royal Garden in London for her honeymoon last July. It'll be fun to hear about other Hoosier DVCers.

Nice to see this thread. I have seen a few posters on the boards from Indiana. Cross your fingers for me: I've got a (sort of) last minute trip in June. I've got a current reservation at OKW, but waitlisting BWV. I'm really hoping it comes through.

I'm still in my first year as a DVC member and loving every second of it. 3 trips this year and at least 2 next year. Ahhhh... 'tis the life!

Hi everyone! I'm Caroline and I live in Fishers. My original purchase was 150 at SSR, but then I got addonitis really bad. I also own 150 at AKV, 100 at WLV, and 100 at BCV. My DVC tastes are really varied.

I just added a July stay for my dd's 13th birthday at OKW, but I am waitlisting for BCV. Crossing my fingers on that one, but not expecting it. I am also going to SSR/BCV in October, VWL in December, AKV in February and the DCL Podcast cruise next May.

Where is ADP? He should be showing up soon. :wave2:

DVC was a birthday gift to me in 1993 when our two girls were 10 and 7.

What an awesome gift! We're considering our membership a gift too - an anniversary gift. We joined in February, but yesterday was our 14th anniversary :hug: - so our "gift" was just a little bit early! But we're already planning our 15th back at WDW, but of course this time it will be at home. Now were trying to decide which resort we want to visit for our child-less getaway... ahh the planning is fun.

I took my older son a few years ago on a father/son trip and we went to MNSSSH party and had a blast - my younger son and daughter haven't been to that event yet, and are looking forward to that this year.

Some friends of ours (not yet members) are going in a couple of weeks with their S/DIL (members) and their 6 grandkids (all under 4 - one set of triplets!)... we're excited for them - but of course wishing we could be the ones going.

We stayed at SSR with the kids and WLV in Feb. We are trying to stay at all of them but get back to OKW about once a year...smjj

I know that sign! I live in Columbus IN and grew up in Lakeville, IN. We would drive that stretch to visit my parents and that sign would always catch my attention.

Have a few contracts, all at the Boardwalk, for a total of 670 points.

Boardwalk is my favorite place as it is a short walk between my two favorite parks, though I have stayed at most of the other DVC places at one time or another.

Also, I really enjoy Disney cruises!

We live in Terre Haute. We bought BWV in 1999 and then did an add-on at BCV. We bought BCV for grandchildren but they preferred BWV so we sold BCV a few months ago.

Grandchildren live in Carmel but they are in the process of moving to Charleston, SC so I don't know how often they will be going with us.

Batesville, Indiana here. Small town on I-74 between Indianapolis and Cincinnati. We're only 20 miles from the Ohio border. This is considered the Tri-State area (IN, OH, KY).

Our DD lives just outside of Bloomington, and our DS lives in Indy.

We're originally from Iowa, but Indiana isn't much different. Lots of corn growing here too! But nice thing, we're about 300 miles closer to Disney. Here in Indiana we're only 950 miles away....that's a lot easier drive.:woohoo:

Members since 1993. Own at OKW and SSR. Four contracts total, consisting of two Masters (Jun, Aug), with the June contract having two add-on's.

Have stayed at all of the DVC resorts except AKV so far. Have visited all six of the U.S. Disney resorts (4 at WDW and 2 at DL) and also have been to Paris and Tokyo. Gotta get to Hong Kong......:thumbsup2

I'm a retired Engineer. DW is semi-retired...still does some substitute teaching at the local schools. I keep busy doing a lot of computer related stuff....Moderate on the DIS, write software programs, still do some contract programming once in awhile..., and of course still play my favorite computer game: Age of Empires II, Conquerors edition..:surfweb:

We live in Mt. Vernon, about 15 miles SW of Evansville (if we were any farther south, we'd be in the Ohio River and any farther west, we'd be in the Wabash River). DH and I purchased at VWL in 2001 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We have stayed at every WDW DVC except AKV. We have yet to try VB or HH.

We have 3 DD's; two are married. One of them lives in Plainfield (very near to all you Avon people). She and her DH had a baby girl in July. The other lives in Parker City, near Muncie. Our third DD will graduate from college in Missouri in May. Don't know yet where she will end up.:confused3

Hey everyone! I am from Angola in the northeastern corner of Indiana. The county is known for its "101" lakes(mud puddles included). I just bought into AKV (160 pts,Aug UY) on my last trip in Feb. Although I thought about it for a few years, it was considered an impulse buy this year. I walked by a DVC stand at DHS, stopped,walked back,and thought I would ask a single nagging question I had about DVC. Before I knew it I had an open house trip arranged for the next day. I thought I would go, look around and that would satisfy me for another year. After the pitch I sat back in my chair, thought for about 15 seconds, then with out emotion said "OK lets do it". Of course on the ride back to the AKL, I started having buyers remorse especially since I used most of my spending cash for half the down payment which I was planning on spending at the space center the next day. I Should have done it ten years ago! Next trip is already booked for Halloween.

Hey to Stopher and all of you Avonians.. I am from the west side of Indy in the Eagle Creek area. My main resort has been OKW since 1994 and recent addition at SSR. I wanted AKV , but they didn't have the extra 2007 points for free with AKV. Total 820. Did you know that when you get developer points as an incentive, they cannot be insured with travel insurance? Just got some recently and was told this by member services. Problem is, I love DCL and the exchange is expensive. It seems like the exchange with Interval International is a good thing. Is that true? Anyone been to the Concierge Collection Hawaiian resort on ,,, Maui? And now,,,,, the lastest losers from America''s Best dance Crew (3Dan is my TKD rank)
