so I spent yesterday not working at all, just reading your PJ and then checkingn out all the cool stuff you provided for your guest...must say you make me feel like I totally have slacked off. I loved your scavenger hunt and hidden mickey stuff...(so going to have to ask you to send me copies...pretty please) Let me ask you, did you hire your own photographer then?
Cause as I read through everyones posts I am worried....I went with a disney photographer and have no clue as to who it is. I even called my WP yesterday cause I got worried. Is there someone everyone would recommend I ask for?????
Oh, by the way...waiting on the edge of my seat for the rest of your story, if its anything like the rest, it will be worth the wait I am sure!
Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

Vanessa,
Just a quick question....How soon in advance did you schedule your MK photo shoot?? And did you call Disney photography directly? Did you have to put a deposit down? I was just wondering how soon in advance I should get going on that....:cutie: If you happen to still have the number could you maybe give it to me?? Thanks a bunch!!! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for reading through all my plans, I'm glad you enjoyed them. Just PM me your email address and I would be more than happy to send over all the documents :thumbsup2
I did hire my own photographer except for the Magic Kingdom shoot. Randy Chapman (www.chapmanphotography.com) did our wedding, reception, and dessert party. For Disney, I highly recommend requesting Paul Looper. He also did amazing work and was really easy to work with for our shoot. He is more than willing to go the extra mile to accomodate special requests. I contacted Disney photography directly to make my photographer request.
Definitely stay tuned; my DH is going to a baseball game on Saturday, so I plan to have some time alone to work on another installment :goodvibes

We scheduled ours right after we signed our contract. The contact I had was Karen Chandler at 407-827-5029. There wasn't any additional deposit or anything; the billing was included with the rest of our wedding package :) I also contacted Disney Photography Services when I requested my photographer. Let me know if you have any other questions :cool1:

Oh, no I'm definitely not done; I plan to do more updates this weekend. I've just been in and out of town over the last couple of weeks since our at-home reception.
Epcot has always been my favorite park too and I highly recommend getting married there. To have the experience of having your wedding inside a park is out of this world. Plus, the cost comparison to the Magic Kingdom makes it affordable for most brides! Our guests loved having the opportunity to be inside a Disney park before opening plus the backdrops with the different countries makes for unbelievable photos :dance3:
I have some really cool shots from Japan that I should be getting up this weekend, so definitely check back to see more pictures.

I was really happy with the final result especially since I didn't have color swatches to send them for all the dresses. They really did a great job. The only downside was that there was a lot more white in their bouquets than I originally expected, but they still turned out really pretty :)

Here is an overview of the ceremony set up. In the front row, we had empty chairs with flowers on them in memory of our deceased grandparents and for Kris’ dad. We also had a photo of his dad on his chair.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK07783-3-08.jpg
His dad’s chair was suppose to have this white rose with the red ribbon (in honor of their Polish heritage) but somehow Disney accidentally put it up by the sand ceremony arrangement and the flower for Kris’ grandma was placed on his dad’s chair. Oh well, no one noticed except for me.

Here is the sand ceremony arrangement:

We had bought hankies for the parents and my grandma and then I put them in little silver drawstring bags. They had a card with a poem about the wedding day and my mom had cross-stitched some flowers on the hankies that already said mom, dad, grandma.

This is a shot of all the guests seated before we started to walk into the Rotunda. I’m not sure if you can see them, but we paid for chair bows and they looked great! We alternated the colors – blue, lavender, green, pink, and yellow. We also had them turn the side bows, so they looked like decorations for the aisle.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK07853-3-08.jpg
Let me tell you the white chair covers was the best $500 we spent in the budget!! If you have ever saw what the chairs for the Rotunda look like they are padded black restaurant looking chairs which would have totally clashed with our décor; thankfully the covers were cheaper than renting all new chairs.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/100_3270-2.jpg
I think you can see the bows better in this picture from after the ceremony:

I had originally ordered one that was supposed to be custom painted through a small business. Needless to say the lady never came through with the product; so I ended up ordering this one on eBay. They have a ton of different images and pictures to pick from for personalization. Here is the company’s web site; I know they have a link to eBay from there. We still had Disney provide the sand, so we didn’t have to mess with it. I shipped the glass set down to my floral manager in advance.

We actually made them ourselves using an adapted template for the Mickey fan templates. My dad made us templates that we used to cut out. But, let me forewarn you this ended up being a huge project. We spent many, many hours cutting out circles; I made them a little too long at 9 pages for 50 programs! I can give you directions on making them, but they were very, very time consuming :confused3
Here we are cutting them; I even took a stack of circles to cut out when we were moving Kris back to MI from Ohio!
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding%20Crafts/TuxProgram057.jpg
Some pictures of the final product; as I mentioned above there were actually 9 inside pages that were in the circle shape:

We definitely wanted to make sure that we went the extra mile since we had just loss Kris’ dad and since both of my mom’s parents were gone. It was nice to know that we were able to include a little part of them on our big day.
My matron of honor was definitely a lifesaver!
Thanks for reading :surfweb:

Don’t mention that to my husband or he’ll have me hired out to you. He’s already pulled me in to help his friends with the planning of their reception in MI. They are getting married in Colorado where her family lives and will be having an at-home reception for his family and friends this fall.
I’m totally a detail person too; as you’ll see in more of the shots from the day. I told Randy that I wanted lots of pictures of all the “stuff” that we added to make the day even more memorable :goodvibes
Your set up is beautiful. How much were the chair covers per chair or is it a $500 flat fee. I love the idea, but I'm not paying $500 to cover 10 chairs!:)
Don’t worry; we only paid $8.50 per chair, but since we had 60 chairs the total was $510. I wouldn’t want to pay $500 to only cover 10 chairs either. The fee is through Disney Floral, so as far as I know there’s no minimum, so you should be okay. We went with the cheapest option; I know they have other kinds that are with different material; etc. :thumbsup2
Vanessa, Thanks for the info!!! :)
Glad I could help out!

Agreed! You are very photogenic! :thumbsup2
That’s so funny that you used that word. This story is completely off topic, so please bear with me. When I was around 5, I decided that I wanted to be in a pageant, so my mom let me try it out. To make a long story short, I was allergic to mosquito bites and a few days before the pageant I got bit by my eye and it was all swollen up. Anyway, I ended up winning “Most Photogenic” (our pictures were sent in advance) and all the regular pageant moms were really mad! I never did another pageant again, but I always laugh when I think about that story.

And at long last, the start of the ceremony...
As a side note, here are the songs that were played during the prelude:
- “The Disney Songbook” by Jim Brickman
- One Little Spark (The song from Journey into Imagination with Figment! :figment: ) by Richard Sherman and Robert Sherman
- Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desire by Johann Sebastian Bach
When our moms walked down the aisle the song, The Simple Things by Jim Brickman was played. They each carried down our vases for the sand ceremony set. Kris’ mom was escorted by his cousin, the extra groomsman on Kris’ side and then my cousin (who stood up on my side) walked my mom down the aisle.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK07943-3-08.jpg
As the guys were walking into the rotunda, Kris’ cousin had forgot that he had to go back to walk out with the guys and in the video you see him sit next to his wife in the audience and then he suddenly jumps back up and walks to the front; it was kind of funny because no one noticed until we watched the video. :rotfl:
Once we got into the gallery off the rotunda, my dad was escorted out by someone since I was going to walk out by myself and then would meet him at the end of the aisle for the actual walk. My bridesmaids kept trying to peek through the glass showcase to see Kris. While we were waiting we could hear the guy’s music playing as they were walking into the rotunda; he had picked out a Morrissey song called Everyday is Like Sunday I made him find an instrumental version that was played through a CD player.
The funny thing is that since my cousin who is a musician at Disney wasn’t able to play guitar because of union rules we had the music played on a CD player. Only two songs were done through the player and the rest were done live by the pianist. On a side note, I was really specific about the different versions of things that I wanted played since I play piano myself. Marion worked hard to get us the best pianist on property and he was amazing! Kristov (no idea on spelling) was unbelievable; he played everything exactly how I wanted it. I think she was more worried about the music than I was because I knew if I gave them what I wanted in advance Disney would make sure that it was taken care of at the wedding.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08213-3-08.jpg
The bridesmaids walked out to Kristov playing Somewhere Over the Rainbow in honor of my love of all things Wizard of Oz.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08183-3-08.jpg
I remember chatting with everyone at this point while we were waiting to go out, but I don’t remember what was said. I know that a couple of the girls said that they couldn’t believe the day was finally here after so long! Pretty soon it was just me in the gallery with Marion’s assistant for the day. I made some small talk, but I remember thinking to myself what do you say to a complete stranger right before you walk down the aisle. Here I am circling around to meet my dad :bride:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/IMG_1334.jpg
I only kept the blusher on the veil down until I met him at the end of the aisle and then he flipped it before we walked down together. Apparently, the aisle was supposed to be 6 feet wide and they made it much narrower. My mom said that Marion was extremely mad and almost made them have the guests stand up to rearrange. My mom told her not to worry that we would make it down okay and thankfully we didn’t bump into anyone.
Here is my dad flipping the veil; we practiced this several times with my Mickey bride ears to make sure that we got it to lay straight. I have seen so many brides that have their veil sticking in some strange way after having it flipped by their husband or dad.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08263-3-08.jpg
Walking down the aisle, my dad was smiling really big. He said later he did that to keep from crying. It was sweet because at my parent’s wedding he was the only one that cried. In the video you can see me scanning the crowd because I was trying to look at everyone as they were taking pictures; after all I know how hard I try to get the perfect shot for my scrapbook!
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08323-3-08.jpg
Kris’ first look of me walking down the aisle; I walked down to the Bridal Chorus by Richard Wagner. In the video, you can see him trying to peek around when I’m walking from the gallery. He looks scared to death! :scared1:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08353-3-08.jpg
After my dad and I made it down the aisle, the past or asked my dad, Who Presents this Woman to be Married? The funny part is deciding what would be said at this part was a huge discussion. My mom always said that she wasn’t giving me away and I don’t consider myself someone to be given and taken (I know a little over the top) so the night before the wedding we came up with this compromise with the pastor, I think it worked out just right and to be honest I think we were the only ones that noticed this was different.
To start the ceremony, our friend sang the song Beautiful which is off Jim Brickman’s “Disney Songbook” CD (a great collection of Disney songs with piano, we used a lot of these during the ceremony). I think it’s from one of the Cinderella movies. His wife was my matron of honor and he also served as the master of ceremonies. Kris and I were both in their wedding four years ago too.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK17723-3-08.jpg
If you want to see a clip of him singing just follow the link, it starts a little into the song. We had cut it down to one verse at the rehearsal because Marion mentioned that too often there can be awkward periods of time when you’re listening to a reading or song. She was right, the minute or so that he did sing was just right.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Videos/th_Song.jpg (http://s181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Videos/?action=view¤t=Song.mp4)
While we were listening to him sing I kept looking at the groomsmen because they were all staring at me. It finally dawned on me of course everyone’s staring at me, I’m the bride. I could tell Kris was pretty nervous; he kept squeezing my hands so tight. My mom’s best friend said that they could all see my knuckles turning white from his grip.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK17813-3-08.jpg
We had decided on a fairly traditional ceremony. After the song was finished, the pastor went right into the ceremony.
Dearly beloved: we have come together in the presence of God to witness the joining together of this man and this woman in holy matrimony. The sacred relationship of marriage was established by God in creation, and our Lord Jesus adorned marriage by His presence and first miracle at the wedding in Cana of Galilee. The apostle Paul chose marriage to symbolize the union between Christ and his church, and holy Scripture commends marriage to be honored among all people.
The union of husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given to one another in prosperity and adversity; and when it is God’s will, for procreation of children and their nuture in the knowledge and love of the Lord. Therefore, marriage is not to be entered unadvisedly or lightly, but soberly, deliberately, and in reverent fear before God.
Into this holy union, Kris and Vanessa now come to be joined.
Kris, will you have this woman to be your wife; to live together in the holy covenant of marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health, and forsaking all others to be faithful to her so long as you both shall live.
Kris answered, “I will.” Neither one of us was crying at this point, so I thought that was a good sign. Kris was so serious, you could tell that he was really concentrating. Every once in a while he would give this big smile .

I answered, “I will.”
Next up the vows and we officially become husband and wife! :lovestruc

Vanessa that clip of your friend's DH singing was just "beautiful". It really made me cry, I love weddings. Did you guys have it videotaped? I thought I remember seeing some sort of sneakpeak or am I dreaming? Gorgeous. I cried a lot because my DH was crying when we were saying our vows and I thought it was touching to see him cry too so of course that made me cry more. You can hear our vows but our voices are shaky.

On a side note, I forgot to mention that at the opening of the ceremony we had the minister mention the flowers on the front row. He said something along the lines that the empty seats in the front row represent our loved ones that aren’t able to be with us today. The pastor had asked Kris if he wanted him to mention his dad directly, but he was worried that he might be too hard to talk about it that day.
Oh, Vanessa! How beautiful! I love the look on Chris's face during your vows. You can see he is just so joyful about you being "his." Thank you for sharing so much detail and all these gorgeous pix. And the clip of your vocalist is just wonderful. He has a gorgeous voice.
Looking forward to more!
Thank you so much, you are always so sweet. It was definitely about time that the day finally arrived after 8 years. I hope things went well this weekend, I’m going to have to pop over to your PJ for an update.
Wonderful update! Can't wait to read more!
such a beautiful wedding. I can't wait to read more :)
Thank you, I’m hoping to keep up now that things have slowed down a little bit.
Oh Vanessa, your ceremony was beautiful. You and Kris are both beaming!:goodvibes Your soloist was amazing too. How neat!
I was so glad that our friend agreed to do it for us, he worked on it for quite a while. I know he was a little nervous after we asked him to sing because he wasn’t sure what song I might pick He really liked my final choice though which was good.
Great Update!! Thanks for the info about the chair covers, I think we're going to have them. Also, who was your officiant?
Glad to hear that you’re getting the covers, they are definitely worth the money. There’s an interesting story about our officiant. Our minister from MI moved to Jacksonville 1 ½ years ago and when we decided to get married in Florida we contacted him and he agreed to come to Disney to perform it for us. It was nice to have someone that we knew perform the ceremony; it really added a personal touch. Plus, the pastor and his wife love Disney, so they didn’t mind the trip :cool1:
GORGEOUS! I love the venue. Its so unique. WP is beautiful but this has a different charm. You looked fantastic and so happy!!
How true! We definitely wanted an in-park wedding for something different. It really has the true Disney feel (even though other sites are just as beautiful too)

We actually got our video done through STVS Video. The final product that we showed at our at-home reception was amazing. The sneak-peek is still up on his site, if you want to check it out and need the site let me know. There are a couple of times where my voice got pretty shaky and I'm surprised that I didn't cry, but I think after the ups and downs from the previous year we all felt relief that the day had finally arrived. At the end of the vows you can hear Kris let out this long sigh of relief :goodvibes

Stay tuned, there is still some more left to our vows. I just love the words to that song, it was inspired by Cinderella and was from the Anniversary Cinderella Soundtrack.
Here are the complete lyrics, it is sang by Wayne Brady with Jim Brickman on paino.
From the Moment I saw you,
from the moment I looked into your eyes
there was something about you
I knew I knew
that you were once in a life time
a treasure near impossible to find
and I know how lucky I am to have you
Chorus:
Cause I've seen the rainbows that can take your breath away
the beauty of the setting sun that ends a perfect day
and when it comes to shooting stars, I've seen a few
but I've never seen anything...as beautiful as you
Holding you in my arms
no one else has fit so perfectly
I could dance forever with you, with you
and at the stroke of midnight
please forgive me if I can't let go
cause I never dreamed I'd find a Cinderella of my own
Chorus:
Cause I've seen the rainbows that can take your breath away
the beauty of the setting sun that ends a perfect day
and when it comes to shooting stars, I've seen a few
but I've never seen anything...as beautiful as you
Chorus repeat:
Cause I've seen the rainbows that can take your breath away
the beauty of the setting sun that ends a perfect day
and when it comes to shooting stars, I've seen a few
but I've never seen anything...
Oh Oh, Oh no, I've never seen anything...as beautiful as you
from the moment I saw you,
from the moment I looked into your eyes...
Aww the song he sang was beautiful :)
I love the venue,it is just so gorgeous...your dad is so cute smiling and walking down the aisle.
How ironic, the song was titled "Beautiful" too ;)
I was really excited to see how the Rotunda came together since I have really only saw receptions there aside from a few short video samples. My dad was trying really hard to keep it together :)

Now on with the vows….
Here are some cool overview shots of the ceremony from Randy.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08413-3-08.jpg
Randy even ran up to the second floor for some shots.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08533-3-08.jpg
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08493-3-08.jpg
Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us that at the beginning of creation God “made them male and female. For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh. Consequently they are no longer two but one flesh.” You have come to be made husband and wife. Will you join hands, and repeat these vows after me?
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08563-3-08.jpg
Kris repeated, “I, Kris, take you Vanessa, to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death; as God is my witness, I give you my promise.”
I then repeated, “I, Vanessa, take you Kris, to be my husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death; as God is my witness, I give you my promise.”
I look so serious in this shot.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK17763-3-08.jpg
Another important thing to me was that I didn’t want the word “obey” in the vows because I consider our marriage a partnership and we were choosing to be together for the rest of our lives in married bliss.
We then went into the sand ceremony. When I bought our set they included a saying that we ended up using at the wedding.
Kris and Vanessa have chosen to take part in the sand ceremony as a symbol of them joining together as bride and groom and the uniting of their love.
The bride and groom have chosen this day in which to join together and proclaim their love for one another as they marry. Just as this sand unites as one it also retains its own individuality in each grain of sand, as do the bride and groom.
Today you are making a life-long commitment to share the rest of your lives with each other. Your relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand; one representing you, Vanessa, and all that were you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other representing you, Kris, and all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK17833-3-08.jpg
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK17853-3-08.jpg
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/100_3274.jpg
Once we started the sand ceremony, I was done pouring my sand way before Kris, so I had to kind of pause before I put my vase down. That was when I noticed his dad’s rose on the table instead of on the chair. At first I freaked out a little, but then realized that no one else would notice. After Kris was done I motioned for him to circle around the back because I wanted the music to continue a little longer because as we were actual pouring the sand we had the portions of the song, “The Wedding Song” by Noel Paul Stokey (from Peter, Paul, and Mary) played. :charac2:
It’s from the 1970s, but I have always loved this song. Here is a link to the version that we played at the wedding. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1v84WKC6Pg
Here are the words:
He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts
Rest assured this troubadour is acting on His part.
The union of your spirits, here, has caused Him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name
There is Love, there is Love.
A man shall leave his mother and a woman leave her home
And they shall travel on to where the two shall be as one.
As it was in the beginning is now and til the end
Woman draws her life from man and gives it back again.
And there is Love, there is Love.
Well then what's to be the reason for becoming man and wife?
Is it love that brings you here or love that brings you life?
And if loving is the answer, then who's the giving for?
Do you believe in something that you've never seen before?
Oh there is Love, there is Love.
Oh the marriage of your spirits here has caused Him to remain
For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name
There is Love, there is Love.
The song was faded out about halfway through, we used the CD player for this one too. My cousin did a great job as the “sound man” plus with the Rotunda we didn’t need a regular sound system. We then went right back into the ceremony and exchanged our rings.
The word of God describes the kind of love we are to have, each for the other, “Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”
Having this love in your hearts, you have chosen to seal your vows by the giving and receiving of rings.
Bless, O Lord, this ring to be a sign of the vows by which man and woman have bound themselves to each other; through Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
Then we each repeated the following as we exchanged rings. I give you this ring , as a symbol of my vow, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you; in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK17933-3-08.jpg
Here were the guys standing up; I know some people don’t like that stance, but I think they all look very proper :cool2:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK17813-3-08.jpg
The girls looked a little bored
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK17893-3-08.jpg
The ceremony then concluded with a prayer.
Eternal God, Creator, and Preserver of Life, Author of Salvation, and Giver of all Grace, look with favor upon this man and this woman whom You make one flesh in holy matrimony. Grant that their wills be so knit together in Your will, and that their spirits be so knit with Your Spirit, that they each may grow in love and peace with You and with one another all the days of their lives. Give them grace, when they hurt each other, to recognize and acknowledge their fault, and to seek each other’s forgiveness and Yours. Make their life together a sign of Christ’s love to this sinful and broken world. Give them such fulfillment and mutual affection that they may reach out in love and concern for others.
Now that Kris and Vanessa have given themselves to each other by solemn vows, before us and before God as witness, and have shown their affection and trust by the giving and exchanging of rings and by joining hands, I pronounce that they are husband and wife, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit Therefore, what God has joined together, let man not separate, Amen. You may kiss your bride.
Closing prayer:
God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, bless, preserve, and keep you; the Lord look upon you with His favor, and fill you with all spiritual benediction and grace; that you may so live together in this life, that the in the world to come you will have life everlasting through Jesus Christ, Amen.
I now present to you Kris and Vanessa, as husband and wife. (This was the only way we could think of to announce us since I kept my last name.)
Then we were officially married!!!!!! :bride:

Thank you, Lynn, we went pretty traditional with everything and I’m really happy with how it came out. My mom had always planned to use that song for a vow renewal and it just never happened; they will be celebrating their 30th anniversary this November, so I thought I would incorporate it instead. We played through the end of the chorus after the first verse and that timing worked out okay. It seemed to flow pretty good. I’ll see if I can post a clip of that for you.

After traveling back from Florida it is thoroughly mixed up. I have a picture from our at-home reception that I’ll have to upload. We even put some packing material inside the jar to try to keep things from moving too much, but it didn’t really do any good, so I wouldn’t worry about being uneven it ends up all mixed in the end ;)

How true, with ours now that it is so mixed you wouldn’t be able to separate it just like our reading said during the ceremony.

For the singer, our friend was listed as a guest soloist on our BEO. As long as it is a family member or friend doing it you don't have to pay a fee. The only time you pay that outside entertainer fee is if you are paying someone to come in for your wedding.

I was glad to see some early pix before we left since AAR was our rain backup= we did not need it but if we had I can now see how beautiful things still would have been! Vanessa - Here are some photos from our honeymoon in Hawaii. I don't know what happened when I scanned them but there is a big space in between pictures. I tried to fix them in photobucket but couldn't sorry.
this is one when we were in Maui, there was a path to walk along the beach from each hotel.

This vase was in our hotel lobby in Oahu. I thought it was beautiful so I told DH to stand next to it so you can see how big it was.

Laura~ I was looking through my TR for something and realized that I missed these pictures before. Your hotel was right next to the one that we stayed at in Oahu on Waikiki Beach, how cool, what a coincidence :cool1:

Hi Vanessa! Just caught up with your TR! your ceremony was beautiful! Absolutely gorgeous! I was glad to see some early pix before we left since AAR was our rain backup= we did not need it but if we had I can now see how beautiful things still would have been! I am definately very pleased with out choice to have our ceremony in Epcot-it was fabulous!

Sandy~ Thanks for getting caught up so far and for thinking of me on your trip to Disney  It's good to hear that your wedding was fantastic! I can't wait to see pictures!
I'm glad you had a chance to ride Figment; if only you would have had the chance to ride the original, oh how I miss the Dreamfinder :figment: The ride always takes me back to my childhood.

Vanessa,
So I just watched the sneak peak video again...and yes of course I cried again! It was so beautiful...I so wish I would have been able to see at least the reception. Dummy me, loosing track of dates when I get all excited about visiting the world. :confused3
I agree about the old Journey Into the Imagination Ride. I miss the Dreamfinder too, but at least they put Figment back into the ride. I was so ticked when they took him out completely. I have a feeling that too many people complained and Disney had to bring him back.
As for the 5 year vow renewal...I think I have a chance because all of our guests asked us if we would have one in 5 years so they could come back and play with us again. :thumbsup2 Only time will tell...

I'm so glad you liked the video; I'm trying to figure out a way to upload a longer version online.
I was so upset when they removed Figment too; I filed a complaint with guest relations :furious: So, thankfully he was brought back :yay:
We've already had requests for a renewal too, although our guests are willing to wait a little longer; they mentioned a 10 year one! I guess Kris and I will have to be guests at your 5 year ;)

It worked out perfect with Kris’ cousin as the extra groomsman to walk his mom out.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08713-3-08.jpg
My parents are smiling here instead of crying, I think we were all relieved to have the wedding over, so we could have some fun!
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08743-3-08.jpg
Everything at that point was a whirlwind. I remember people from the wedding party and our parents giving us hugs and wishing us congratulations, but I don’t remember Kris and I really having a minute to talk. Oh well, I knew we would have a lifetime for each other! We really only all had a few seconds before we were all ushered back into the rotunda.
Marion had the guests stay put in their seats because we wanted to get a group shot looking up to the second floor and we were on a tight schedule for everyone to make it to the pre-reception that was to start at 10:30 a.m. For some reason we were told that we only had a few minutes left in the rotunda period, I think they needed time to clear the chairs, etc. before the opening of the park.
Here is one of the shots from the group photos. I love these pictures because they show everyone who was a part of our important day. Of course, with 52 people we don’t have any where everyone is looking, but it is still a great keepsake. It was actually so great to see this photo from Randy; it was touching to know that all these people cared enough about us to make the trip down to Florida to spend our wedding with us. For some of our guests it was a big sacrifice, so that made it all the more special.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Ceremony/VK08803-3-08.jpg
Randy took a couple of shots and then Marion got everyone right out the door for our staged exit because we were starting to run behind on our schedule. She was so great at keeping track of everything! :hourglass
I really wanted something different besides bubbles for our exit, but with an in-park ceremony our only options were bubbles or ribbon wands. I had originally wanted to go with the wands, but the cost was kind of high and we weren’t very successful in trying to track down the materials to do them ourselves. In the end, I settled for the Mickey bubbles. I bought them at Walmart and then personalized them with everyone’s name.
I had two baskets for the bubbles and we had them sorted by men in one and women in the other plus they were in alphabetical order. The plan was for the hostesses to hand them out by calling out names, etc. Since it got so rushed no one ended up with the right set for the exit. They all ended up exchanging them on the bus or at the pre-reception.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Rotunda/VK08873-3-08.jpg
Actually, this was pretty easy to do and people really like it. I bought the Sharpie paint pens and it only took about 30 minutes to do all of them. ::MickeyMo
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding%20Crafts/Moving030.jpg
Here is a shot when I was doing them in case anyone is interested in getting these bubbles you can see the boxes in the picture. By the way if you want them and are having a small guest count send me a PM because I have a few extra boxes. I know Laura from Disney Floral said that these were licensed out to another company, so they are trying to get them as something that they can provide directly.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding%20Crafts/Moving028.jpg
And our grand exit as the newly married couple! :bride:

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Rotunda/VK09043-3-08.jpg
Our guests were then quickly sent off to the buses to head to the Living Seas.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/WeddingMarch32008WaltDisneyWorld313.jpg
Before we headed off for our bridal party shots I told Randy that I wanted to have a few pictures inside the rotunda. Marion said that was fine, but we only had 5 minutes! :scared1:
Our parents:

My grandma (she’s 85 and loves Disney; her first trip was in 2006 when a group of about 10 of us went down!)

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Rotunda/VK09613-3-08.jpg
There are quotes on the wall and one of Kris’ favorite authors is Ayn Rand, so we had to get this picture:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Rotunda/VK09133-3-08-1.jpg
We ended up having enough time to get some individual shots with our parents and we also got some amazing shots of the two of us; I know I posted this already, but it is one of my favorites! Randy and Stan also had us do a reenactment of putting our rings on our fingers, so they could get close up shots too! ;)
Up next we journey around the world… first up Japan!

Last year someone had posted a link to order them online here and then I found out you could get them at some of the Walmarts too. They didn't all carry them, so I had people check for them in several states. We ended up getting the 50 we needed without any problem though :thumbsup2

That's cool. I can't wait to hear about the details from Hawaii. When went in a minivan from the airport to our hotel and the person driving told us that this hotel has a few weddings a week. They had a beautiful patio outside in the back and everyday we would see a couple getting their pictures taken in the lobby. It was great.

Yes, they were in the regular party supply section. I bought them last fall, so I'm not sure if they still have them or not. I know out of the 4 Walmarts in our area, only 1 of them actually carried them. They had a whole line of Mickey party supplies and they had some Princess bubbles too!

That is so neat about the weddings, I was surprised how many couples we saw there too. As much objection as we had to a wedding in Florida, I can't imagine if we wanted people to travel to Hawaii :rotfl: At the resort we stayed at they had a vow renewal on the beach for any couples celebrating their anniversary once a week. It sounded like anyone who wanted to join in could and it was just done as a group.
I really love the group shot too; I want to get a pretty big enlargement to hang up, so you can see everyone.

Your bubbles are so stinking cute! I am jealous that it only took you 30 minutes to make them. I wanted what you got and couldn't find any so I went with bubble wands and hand painted silver and teal mickey heads (20 on each wand). Then I tied two silver wedding rings on the top with two Mickey heads that I had punched out in two different shades of teal and tied it all on top of the bubble wands with teal ribbon. They looked very nice (and yes Vanessa, I have pictures to show you what they looked like once my computer finally comes back...we are still waiting on it. Best Buy had to send it off...their service plan sucks...it's not worth it and don't get it. We are thinking about just buying a new computer as it has been almost 2 months now without one :badpc: ) but they took me like 10 hours to make 40 of them! Can't wait to see more...

Morning Vanessa - love reading everything so far and looking forward to more. I love the way your bridal party wore all the colors of the rainbow and you had them walk down the aisle to "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" - just perfect.
I have a question about your guest book - I know you did a Shutterfly (or something like it) book and I was wondering how it turned out? We have gotten our pictures from our Engagement Shoot from Misty and we had a Disney Photoshoot at the GF and we are starting to put our photos together. I am still trying to decide on a book using our own photos or one from The Guestbook Store where you put in photos of your guests on the page they sign. Also, did you just leave blank areas in the book or did you put lines in certain sections?
Looking forward to reading more.
Thanks,

The best part with the bridesmaids is that I never put the fact together about the dresses and the song until some of you mentioned it here; it was sheer coincidence that I picked them. I guess sometimes you just luck out like that :rotfl:
Our guest book turned out so great! I used Shutterfly and had our guests sign it using a Slick Writer pen http://www.misterart.com/g8466/American-Crafts-Slick-Writer-Pens.htm?WT.mc_n=froogle&WT.mc_t=CPC&WT.mc_id=8466 (wow, my scrapbooking store only had black and this site has a lot of colors!)
I don't have pictures of it after our guests signed it, although there might be one Randy took at our display table, I'll check. They were really good about spreading out things throughout the entire book. I'm using it as a coffee table book for now, so we can look at it from time to time.

After we made our way outside I opened up the box with the parasols that I had bought online and handed them out to the girls. I had originally bought some at Hobby Lobby, but they weren’t quite the right colors, so I found some on www.asianideas.com after seeing their ad in a bridal magazine and order them just a couple weeks before the wedding. We had sent the box with the parasols and the boombox for the music along with the emergency kits in the trunk of the guy’s limo that morning. The only color I couldn’t find was yellow for my flowergirl, so I got her a small white one.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/World%20Showcase/VK18163-3-08.jpg
Around this time I noticed that the one groomsman was lugging around his suitcase. I asked Kris what that was about and apparently his flight was for like 3 p.m. that afternoon. This was the first time I heard anything about it. Needless to say, I was a little bit upset, he could have at least scheduled an evening flight He wanted to know how he could get a cab to leave right from the reception  I spoke to Marion quickly about this and she offered to have our park guide escort him to the front of the park at the end of the reception, so he could have a cab meet him near the bus area. I think they even called the cab for him.
Once I got that settled, I decided to put it out of my mind because I didn’t want to get too upset over it. After all we had pictures scheduled for after the reception at the Grand Floridian, so our bridal party wouldn’t be complete in those shots. I figured at least it wasn’t one of my bridesmaids.
These are some really cute casual shots of us walking over to Japan for our bridal party shots.

Whoops! Somehow I forgot to upload the shots with the bridesmaids, so here are some pictures with the guys for now. I will upload the other ones tonight. The one thing I remember at this time was that my maid of honor kept worrying about the guys wearing their sunglasses. I honestly didn’t care because the sun was so bright at that time of morning, but it was nice that she was trying to watch out for the little details.

I love the pictures of the guys with their sunglasses on. I have already purchased white sunglasses for myself and red sunglasses for my bridal party - they will be in claret color. Vanessa, I posted a questions a few days ago on these boards. When we went to measure my DF for his tux - at one shop they said that tuxes are worn open as opposed to suit jackets which are worn closed. From looking at your recent pictures, all they guys jackets were open. Did you have the jackets open for all the pictures or just some. I figured we would have the tux closed for moral portraits but open for the more casual ones. What did you guys do?
Thanks,

I LOVE  the pictures with the umbrellas! I also love all the casual pictures walking over...casual pictures are always my favorites!
I feel ya on the whole groomsman thing. Brad's Best Man didn't tell us until the NIGHT BEFORE THE WEDDING :scared1: that he wouldn't be coming. After I got over being scared and upset I got MAD! In the end our usher, the Best Man's brother, stood in for him and it all turned out ok, but I still felt bad for Brad that his best friend ditched him like that. He hasn't talked to him since. So, like I said, I feel ya! Can't wait for more!

Thanks so much for pictures of your photobook - I can't wait to start on mine.
I love the pictures of the guys with their sunglasses on. I have already purchased white sunglasses for myself and red sunglasses for my bridal party - they will be in claret color. I am planning on getting black sunglasses for the guys and giving them to all of them in their "Thank You" bag of loot.
Linda
:cool2: I love the idea of getting everyone shades; that is going to look so cool in pictures! I can't wait to see your photobook either :thumbsup2
Wow, Vanessa! Everytime I read a new entry in your TR, you seem to add another detail! Your whole events looks like it was just lovely, and has been really inspiring for me! You should seriously think about becoming a WP!
I better not let DH see this thread ;) After all the compliments from our at-home reception; which I will soon post, I was asked by the person who handled the hall rentals if she could pass along my information to anyone looking for help in decorating for an event, so Kris keeps bugging me to get things started. I guess only time will tell; I have a good friend who has thought about going into the business and I think it would be fun to do at least every once in a while.
I love your pictures!!! Your photo book turned out great. I am going to do one of our engagement pictures to see how it comes out because I am going to do our wedding one also. It is so much cheaper than having the photographer do one!!! can't wait to see more pics! popcorn::
I'm waiting for a photobook that I made last week with shots from the week of the wedding. I just used pictures of us with our guests at the parks and the other activities throughout the week. They really are a great keepsake. I love to scrapbook too, but these add a different element :)
Thanks,
Linda
I'm pretty sure it was a combination of open and closed. Although, if you notice Kris has his button in most of the shots (bottom button also left undone). If I remember correctly Randy kind of told the guys to button or unbutton at certain times.
Vanessa,
I really love those bubbles!! I have looked at walmart, but I can't seem to find any anywhere, even online....How many did you have left? I think I would need more then what you have...anyways, everything looks great....as usual..:thumbsup2 I am hoping to get my pj started very shortly....:)
I only have 12 left and someone else has beat you to them, but if I remember correctly you need more than that. I know they were hard to find when I got them last fall too. The ones I found with a quick search are a lot brighter and more cartoonish.

Oh my goodness  that is terrible! I can't believe Brad's best man did that to him. We had a couple people drop out of our wedding party, but that was a few months before. It does amaze me that people feel like they don't have to share important details with the bride and groom especially when their behavior impacts the running of the wedding day.

I love this shadow shot that Randy took while I was waiting for everyone to head out.

Unfortunately it was I that pipped you to the post with the bubbles, I'm sorry, but I've struggled to find anywhere that will sell them, especially to the UK without charging ridiculous amounts of postage, but hopefully MariaLovesJones has now saved the day (and my bahookie!) in finding a store that has them for you :goodvibes

That is a great idea, I kind of looked at doing one since they have so many cute backgrounds and you can't get the Disney characters anywhere else. I ended up with Shutterfly because I had free coupons for photobooks ;) I can't wait to see one from Photopass though, you'll have to post pictures!

Yes, we were able to go over since the World Showcase didn't open until 11 a.m. Kris and I didn't leave to go to the LS until around 10:45 a.m. Actually Marion's assistant for the day just walked around with us and she was radioed when it was time for us to leave. Needless to say, Randy kept us there for a few extra minutes because we wanted to get pictures done in Germany too.
Vanessa, Love the parasols......where exactly is that bridge you guys are on?? I can't place it in my mind...
It is on the left hand side of the courtyard just past the large tower where they have the drummers. :)

After leaving Japan, we decided to head back to Italy to take some shots together. I remember that it was so relaxing at this point. I was relieved that the stress of the wedding itself was over and that I was in my favorite parks alone (well almost) with my husband!
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Italy%20K%20V/VK18973-3-08.jpg

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Italy%20K%20V/VK19583-3-08.jpg
I have to admit these pictures really hurt my hip (for those of you that weren't around last year I was in a bad car accident and I'm still in therapy) but I didn't want to say anything because I wasn't about to miss out on some good shots :upsidedow

The assistant then told Randy we needed to leave soon and he looked at us and said, "Come on guys, let's go." We then hurried down to Germany for a few shots. It was kind of like being home since we live near a small town in MI called Frankenmuth that is full of Bavarian architecture (not sure if that's the right term) and we had some of our engagment pictures done there. Plus, after all you don't get to travel that quickly around the globe after most weddings :goodvibes

We then walked back towards the American Adventure where we got a couple of last shots in front of the rotunda.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Rotunda/VK10453-3-08.jpg
After that we walked back through the gate and headed for the limo. As we were walking towards the limo I told the driver that I was dying for a diet coke. I said that we didn’t have any pop in our car earlier that morning. The told us to give them a minute and they would go to get me a diet coke. Kris and I climbed into the limo and within a minute or two the other driver appeared and handed us my pop. I was so grateful to be getting my coke fix for the morning. I opened up my drink and we slid back to enjoy our private ride over to the Living Seas.
Kris and I had a few minutes alone to reflect on the ceremony we both talked about how we could hardly believe that it was already over and that we were both so happy to finally be married. Kris also kept saying how everything turned out so wonderful and that it was beyond what he could have imagined; I think he really never could get the image in his mind of what things were going to look like until we were actually there; I guess that’s how most men are though with these things.
I know some people have such great conversations we they get those first few minutes alone, but for us we just really sat back and took in the moment. It was also a lot of fun to be driving through the backstage of Epcot again.
Within just a few minutes we pulled up behind the Living Seas. As we were getting out Randy met us at the limo and grabbed a couple of shots. I love the reflection in the first one.

After seeing another Disney bride (Caryn) get shots in front of the Living Seas. I knew I had to have some too. I made this request to Randy as we circled around the front and our Epcot guide started parting the crowd. I don’t have that picture uploaded, but I’ll have to see if I can add it since it was neat to walk through the crowd of park guests staying at us like we were celebrities; you can also see Kris carrying my diet coke. Our guide moved the crowd aside, so Randy could get our shots. The sky looks so cool in some of these pictures. I love how you can see Spaceship Earth too!

We were walked into the side entrance and took the elevator off to the salon. As we got off the elevator we were greeted by Marion who handed us glasses of the signature fruit drink that was part of the pre-reception. It was a mixture of Orange, Passion, Guava juice which was delicious! :drinking1The best thing was that since we were already having these drinks as part of our included juice selections; they made the mixture without any added cost to our BEO. Our custom drink option didn't end up costing us any more :thumbsup2
As we got off the elevator, our entire bridal party was there waiting for us, so we could all be announced. Once I started to drink our drink as Marion started talking about making our entrance with the announcements I noticed something was wrong. I was handed my drink with one of the Figment napkins which were for our dessert party. It took a second to register and then I asked why do I have the dessert party napkin? (These were an expensive last minute addition- $100 for 150 napkins; a lot more than the Mickey ones we got for $30 for our at-home reception!) Marion jumped into action and started asked the Living Seas contact who was responsible for putting these out. She asked me what the floral overview said and I told her they were listed for the dessert party.
Marion made them remove them immediately and told them that since it was their fault for putting them out early; they would need to make sure that we had some type of replacements for the evening. Thankfully, after they checked only a small stack had been used. They ended up getting some matching lavender napkins for the evening and everything turned out fine.
Once this minor catastrophe was addressed, our friend who had sang during the ceremony came up to get all the information correct for announcing the wedding party. This was definitely a detail that we should have handled in advance, but it was one of those things that slipped through the cracks :upsidedow He was really easy going about it which was great and in just a few minutes we had all the details worked out.
Up next we all make our grand entrance!

Vanessa, the pictures are soooo gorgeous! The reflection in the limo window is precious! And the pix in front of the Seas are so perfect! And I am really relieved you got your diet coke. I know there is serious potential for some bridezilla moments for me if I dont' get my morning caffeine fix (not that you have even the slightest bridezilla potential in your sweet self! )

It's so strange how something like getting a diet coke can make such a big difference in a person's mood :rotfl:
I was so glad that I was able to get the pictures in front of the LSS; it made us feel so special!

It was so funny about the napkins because we had really added them as a last minute thing since we didn't think we had enough "Figment" items at the dessert party. The best part was to see the look on Marion's face as she addressed the Living Seas staff, she was all business and they knew it needed to be fixed immediately.
I love the shots in front of Living Seas too; it was such a beautiful day. Plus, it was neat having all the park guests staring at us like we were celebrities or something :cheer2:

We actually did a candy bar; since we did a red carpet theme. We had an area set up like a concession stand with big glass jar for people to scoop out candy and we had a popcorn machine running. We had a lot of different candies, but my mom and I also made Mickey and Minnie chocolates. I don't have any of those pictures uploaded yet or I would share them with you.
Beautiful pics... as always!!!!!!!!!!! Love the living Seas ones... the sky looks amazing!
We were truly bless with a wonderful day; the weather was fantastic :cloud9:

I know, I can't believe how much detail I have been including; I keep wanting to cut it down, but it's so nice to relive the entire experience. Plus, it's easier than writing a journal for me to keep down the road!
Thanks, it really was one of those little things that would have made a difference. We had the glow centerpieces with Figment and had paid for some colored linens, but the napkins were one of the few things that actually had him on it. I'm glad Marion took charge right away :)

It was so great how well the staff worked with us that day; I don't have any complaints. Marion was definitely a lifesaver throughout the entire process!
Unfortunately, my trip got bumped to this week, but we went to my mother-in-laws over the weekend and since there is no TV or internet there I wrote up my next installment in Word, so check it out next. It is pretty long I think :goodvibes

We had decided to make our entrance using the University of Michigan fight song since we had met at college there. The funny thing is that out of our bridal party 4 of the Big Ten schools were represented (Michigan State, Purdue, Ohio State, and University of Michigan), so we kept it a secret from most of them (we only shared it with our fellow Wolverines!) The ironic part is that no one said anything about it; which was a little disappointing. We had some maize and blue pom-poms along with a Wolverine foam claw that we had our hostesses pass out to the crowd. This is the only shot I have of them which was taken by one of the cameras on the guest tables :cheer2: Go Blue!

Here is a shot of us entering the room. When our M.C. got to our name he introduced us using both last names which was great; and he said Kris’ name first and then my last name, so I felt pretty special. I don’t have Randy’s shots uploaded from this either, so here’s one my mom took to hold everyone over.

We had a table set up with some photos and our guestbook that I made on Shutterfly using our engagement pictures that was in the walkway near the Living Seas sign. We made the cardbox at the last minute; I had wanted to do the picture box made out of 8x10 frames that JaxTeach did for her wedding, but after shipping about 8 boxes down for the wedding we decided to do something that would be easier to transport. I had the pink castle box from my shower (which we had gotten at the dollar store) where it was used for cards and we attached the Mickey and Minnie crossstich that my mom had made for us with a matching mat.

They had put my bouquet and our sand ceremony set on a table just under the Living Seas sign. Snapdragons are my favorite flower and since they don’t hold up in bouquets I had them added to all my other floral arrangements:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/100_0603.jpg
I specifically requested more pictures of people with the tanks since I had heard this from other LS brides too :fish: I heard that our guests had saw the divers through the windows during the pre-reception, thankfully Stan caught this on video too. These are some of our regular tank shots.

Here is an overview shot of the room. A note to other Living Seas brides after having Caryn mention how some of her pictures turned out a little dark I requested that the lights be up a little and I was really happy with how all of our pictures came out. So, if you want a little more light don’t be afraid to ask for it.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/WeddingMarch32008WaltDisneyWorld314.jpg
I was also excited to see the setup of the snowglobes on the tables. During my planning session when we visited Ariel’s I saw another reception setup where the bride had used these. After picking out a candle centerpiece that was renting for almost $50 I decided to try for the snowglobes to add a Disney touch to the reception. I got some great deals at the Disney Store last year and on Disney Shopping, so we ended up saving some money over the Disney Floral rentals and I was able to keep them. I have already sold one snowglobe and have given away a couple too. I want to sell a few more, but I’m having trouble deciding which ones to part with at this point. I have a shelf in my kitchen (which is done in Mickey) above my cabinets where I have several of them setting right now and it’s such a great reminder of the wedding. I have some better pictures of the centerpieces that I want to upload, so stay tuned for more of these.

Marion had us walk over to the cake table to show us the final product of the cake. I was so excited to see the final result. My mom had said that Marion told her that she was nervous that I wouldn’t like it after we had several phone conferences with the pastry chef from the Grand Floridian. It was exactly how I had envisioned. Marion really went above and beyond to customize my cake for me. We had already missed the pre-reception, so I didn’t get to try any of those goodies.
Here is our Living Seas event manager making the final adjustments:

The Mickey and Minnie were a last minute addition since they matched the castle. We had bought them for our at-home reception and I had the Precious Moments Mickey ears bride & groom, but they just didn’t really go with the colors of the castle :bride:
When I found the Jim Shore castle at a shop on Main Street when we were there for our planning session last September I immediately bought it. I had originally planned to get the chocolate castle, but I really wanted something that I could keep. The castle I bought matched our color scheme better and was actually only $5 more than the chocolate version. I had already wanted to have staggered layers and since the castle was a little heavy to place directly on a cake this worked out perfectly.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/VK11353-3-08.jpg
Another request I made was for the bridesmaids’ bouquets to be placed in cylinders. I have seen a lot of weddings where they look like they have just been thrown on the table. I was really happy with the final result. Since our cake was at different heights anyway it added a lot of dimension to the setup. Here are some closeups that my flowergirl took of the bouquets with the disposal cameras we had out and they are probably the best closeups I have of them. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have more color in them; there was a lot of white hydrangea, but they were still beautiful in the tussy mussey holders

We then dropped off our stuff at the table and then I quickly changed into my dance shoes. I wore “character shoes” from the regular dancing that I’m involved with through my ballet studio. The heels on these helped keep me from stepping on my dress. They’re basically used for ballroom dancing.
It was then time for Kris and I to make our debut to show how our dancing lessons could really pay off. We had taken 5 private lessons and had our entire song choreographed from start to finish. The song was “My First, My Last, My Everything.” There is a version by Barry White, but we used a more folk-like version that Kris found on I-Tunes; I’ll see if I can find a link to it. I actually let Kris pick out the song. I had to make so many decisions for the wedding I sent him some lists of popular wedding songs and let him sort through them all :dance3:
Here are the words:
The first, the last, my everything
And the answer to all my dreams
You're my sun, my moon, my guiding star
My kind of wonderful, that's what you are
I know there's only, only one like you
There's no way they could have made two
You're all I'm living for
Your love I'll keep for evermore
You're the first, your the last, my everything
And with you I've found so many things
A love so new only you could bring
Can't you see it's you
You make me feel this way
You're like a fresh morning dew on a brand new day
I see so many ways that I
Can love you till the day I die
You're my reality, yet I'm lost in a-a-a a dream
You're the first, the last, my everything
I know there's only, only one like you
There's no way they could have made two
Girl you're my reality
But I'm lost in a-a-a a dream
You're the first, you're the last, my everything
In all of the pictures you can see how Kris was really concentrating on what he was doing. I was keeping count the entire time and whispering the steps under our breath. For some of you who don’t know I do ballet and have been in it for years, so dancing isn’t a big deal for me. Kris has never done any type of performing in front of groups, so he was pretty nervous even though he would probably never admit it :scared:

The entire dance went off without a hitch; we finished just a few seconds early, so we were stuck in the dip pose for a few seconds, but I don’t think anyone really noticed. Our guests exploded in applause; they especially liked the dips and poses in several spots. The money spent on our lessons was well worth it and I’m so glad that we did it (we also repeated the dance at our at-home reception.) My cousin (who works as a musician in Norway at Epcot) was in charge of running the CD player and he did a great job. The best part was that we didn’t have to pay for an Ipod setup or for a Disney technician to run anything for us. He is always making crazy faces; so this picture is a perfect reflection of his personality
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/100_0623.jpg
The next part of the morning was the toasts. We weren’t sure up until the night before who wanted to do a toast, but Kris’ best man, his cousin, and my matron of honor both gave toasts. The nice thing was that they knew both Kris and I pretty well since his cousin had been on my staff at our college newspaper and my matron of honor was on Student Government in college with Kris and I too. It added a little more to what they were able to say because they knew us as a couple and as individuals. We had just paid to have the sparkling cider for the toasts which was actually really tasty. Sometimes these sparkling drinks aren’t that great, but this one tasted great!

After the toast, my great aunt (my grandma’s younger sister) who is a retired minister that also lives in Florida gave the prayer over the meal. She shared a short story beforehand and it was nice to have her included as part of the day. Here I am with my aunt and my cousin who works at Disney is her son.

:mickeybar (We need some food smilies!)
Then it was time to eat!!! Our Living Seas coordinator (I believe his name was Guy) led us up to the buffet to get our plates. I was starving and was excited to see the spread! We had a modified version of the Tinkerbell Brunch.
Pre-Reception:
We moved the premium cheese display with seasonal fruit and artisan bread
(since it was already included in the Tinkerbell Brunch cost we didn’t pay anything extra.)
Reception:
Fruit Display
Au Gratin Potatoes –
Substituted for the regular potatoes (We had requested the ones that are made at Cinderella’s Royal Table )
Smoked Bacon
Maple Glazed Sausage Links
Seared Chicken Breasts with Granny Smith Apples and Roasted Fenneland Fig Au Jus
(I originally never thought that we would like this until we tasted it at the tasting; it was fantastic)
Chicken Caesar Pasta –
Substituted for the regular penne pasta (We had requested the pasta from the Crystal Palace)
Pastry Display & Croissants-
there was everything from cinnamon rolls to chocolate covered croissants.
Omelet Bar –
We made a few special requests including chorizo sausage and Monterey Jack cheese. The regular items were shrimp, cheddar cheese, ham, onions, mushrooms, goat cheese, spinach, salsa, and egg substitute.
Chocolate Hazelnut Crepes-
Kris really wanted peaches, so Marion added these at the last minute for us. The regular toppings that were included were carmalized bananas, mandarin oranges, raspberries, and Devonshire cream.
We didn’t do any special drinks (pop or alcohol) we just had the juice, coffee, and tea options. I just noticed the custom juice with the pineapple, guava, and passion fruit was called Lilikoi Juice which I think is at the Polynesian.
It was so nice to have someone walk Kris and I through the food lines. I ended up with 3 plates of food! My server would put a small amount of food on my plate and then I would ask for a little more. I wanted to make sure that I enjoyed the food. Plus, from past experience where I’ve been in charge of events I know that it’s easy for the host to forget to eat, so I wasn’t about to let that happen to me again. I told Randy that I wanted lots of food pictures. Food is a big part of any event for my family, so I didn’t want to forget any of our menu from the wedding.

Thanks so much for the pictures of the food. We are also doing the Tinkerbell brunch and I love seeing pictures of it so we know what it will look like. I think we are adding a green salad (only $2.00 more). Also from your suggestion, we are not only having the standard crepes but we are adding chocolate crepes to our menu (at no extra cost).
I love the way your cake table came out. I love the Jim Shore items.
Looking forward to more.

Vanessa,
Your reception was beautiful! I love all the little touches. I think this was my most favorite installment yet! I am horrible...I always enjoy the reception pictures more than the even ones! :rotfl: I guess that's because I love to plan parties and I love to see all the ideas. I love the snowglobe centerpieces! They were almost the best part, but I love the cake set up too! I can't tell you how beautiful your reception was. I can't wait to see more! Good luck on your business trip this week...I have a three day training next week in Chicago...I feel your pain.

Yeah! Great update, can't wait to read more. Your food looks fabulous! Also, I LOVE the way you did the cake. I'm sure you had a hard time explaining it to them!
We had several conference calls with our pastry chef Rich and Marion. Here's the sketch that he had sent me after seeing pictures of the castle; he wanted to match the diamond-like design on it's walls. As you can see the design required us to get a little bit larger cake (we had 50 people, but it served 65). The total cost was around $800 for the cake.

Wonderful update Vanessa! Everything looks so great! Thanks for including your menu with pics! Your PJ and TR have definitely given me so much inspiration! You're great! :goodvibes
I'm glad you enjoyed the food, definitely a highlight for me!
Linda
Linda, the chocolate crepes are so good; you will love them! Is the salad going to be pre-made or will they make them up for your guests right there?
Vanessa,
Your reception was beautiful!
Anna Marie
:goodvibes It definitely seems like so much of the planning goes into the reception, so it was great to see everything fall into place. The snowglobes were a favorite of all of our guests too. People went around to the tables looking at all the different ones. The cake really did come together nicely, it was hard to picture it in my mind.
The one upset about going to DC is that I will get to see some family while I'm there. I'm just dreading the drive down.
Everything looks so beautiful!! You really did a great job planning and organizing everything! Your cake is so beautiful! I really loved the staged effect!!
I wanted something different and outside the normal cakes that they offered and they really pulled it off!
Everything about this looked amazing! That turtle is so awesome! I wish I could have had my reception there!!!!! I LOVED your cake set up! So different, classy and elegant!
A funny side note, Kris loves turtles. I mean he stops on the road to save them from getting hit. When we started seeing them in the tank we told Randy and Stan to make sure that they got as many turtle pictures as possible. There are a couple where it looks like the turtle is purposely posing for pictures :rotfl:
Yay for updates :)
That food looks so yummy, it made me hungry just looking at it.

The omelete and crepe bars were including in the Tinkerbell menu, so we didn't have to pay anything extra

They always have such great options, so I’m sure the salads will be a great addition. Especially at that time of day, that is a perfect lunch item :)

Rich did our cake as well - he did a great job on the design :goodvibes Your cake table turned out fantastic:love:
The Alice globe was one of my favorites because it reminded me of our tea that we had that weekend at the Gardenview Room at the Grand Floridian.
I still didn’t get a chance to upload more of the ones laid out for the centerpieces, but here is a list of the different ones that we had- Mary Poppins, Snow White, Beauty & the Beast, Cinderella, Donald with Chip & Dale, Pinocchio, Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Disney Princesses.
After seeing you post your sketch of the design yesterday it made me think of posting mine after I was asked about it. Rich really was great at going outside the box; I’m glad he was so easy to work with too :goodvibes

I love the cylinders for your flowers are a great idea. I like how they came out.
I was so happy that the turtle made an appearance; especially since they are Kris’ favorite. It really was like he was just hanging out watching what was going on. Here’s one shot where it looks like he’s waving behind my aunt and uncle.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/VK01663-3-08.jpg
When I told Laura I wanted something different done with the bouquets she suggested the cylinders and I think they were a perfect solution especially with the height differences in our cake setup.
Vanessa, great pictures!!!!!! I saw the castle that you had on your cake table all over in disney..I'm going to get it when I go back,I love it!

Hi Ladies,
I just got back from my business trip to Washington DC last night. After a few minor car problems, I was ready to be home after 15 hours on the road :confused3 I will be back to my trip report at some point this week. I have jury duty for several days, so that will put me a little behind too.
WOW. That is a gorgeous cake table. I love that castle. Hmmmmmmmm - maybe I need to go see if I can get one of those, I think it would great on top of my fireplace. The Jim Shore items for your centerpieces is a great idea. They had a lot of different ones at the store on Main Street where they sell the glass figures, watches, etc. It is on the opposite side of the Emporium and is just a few doors down from the candy shop.
Everything looks great, and I swear, the first pic I saw of a turtle I thought was from Crush!

:) I was so excited when the turtle made his rounds at the reception; it was perfect for Kris.
Reusing the bouquets was a definite money saver. I have seen other brides have the bouquets on the tables, but I wanted mine to look a little more uniform, so I went with the cylinders.
I know you're both already at Disneyland, so I can't wait to hear Val's report when you get back.
Vanessa - your cake display was just absolutely amazing!!!! I've never seen anything like that!!!
They really did a great job; I wanted something different from the regular displays they do (well I guess nothing at Disney is ordinary, they are all fantastic :wizard:) and I wasn't disappointed!

Hi Laura, I think it might be an exclusive to Walt Disney World. I only saw it at Magic Kingdom, but I think Lynn said she saw it at Downtown Disney too. My piece is even signed by Jim Shore, so I'm not sure if it was a limited edition or not it's the same wood-like material as the other ones (although I totally agree it does look ceramic in some of the photos). I don't mind saying what the cost was since it is close to the chocolate castle that is on the cakes anyway. I paid around $110 with tax. I figured this was worth it since it's much easier to keep than the chocolate one (although I know some brides have been successful in keeping it.)

Rosie emailed back and said I could have the column toppers that I wanted so I'm really happy about that :woohoo: I'm going to have a proper look for a really nice snowglobe and see if we can use that on the yacht. Which do you think would look cute? Rosie isnt sure whether we could use the bowl idea yet, I think she's contacting people at the marina or something to try and find out - so I guess it good for us to have a back up plan :wizard:

There are usually quite a few on eBay; there are even some from a few years ago that are the wedding ones. They still sell a Mickey & Minnie bride and groom one at Downtown Disney and some of the other shops on property.
I think the glass bowl with the sand and shells would be cute too; I've seen some really cute things for beach themed weddings. Although as you know I'm partial to snowglobes :cutie: Are you wanting something that you can keep afterwards or just for use at the wedding?

Okay, back to the regular report. Thank you for being so patient, I know it’s taking me a while. After we had our fill and were completely stuffed from the buffet, it was time for the dance with my dad and then Kris would dance with his mom.
My dad and I had dance lessons 9 years ago when we were both in my aunt’s wedding and she had the entire wedding party take lessons together. Thankfully, we remembered a few steps and at the end of a couple of Kris and my dance lessons we took 15 minutes to have the dance instructor give us a few refreshers. We only did a few steps repeated with some turns, but I think we looked pretty good :dance3:
We danced to “I loved her first” by Heartland. It’s been pretty popular lately from what I have heard. Here are the words…
Look at the two of you dancing that way
Lost in the moment and each others face
So much in love your alone in this place
Like there's nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one
She told me so
And she still means the world to me
Just so you know
So be careful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I'm not gonna stand in your way
But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it still hard to give her away
I loved her first
How could that beautiful women with you
Be the same freckle face kid that I knew
The one that I read all those fairy tales to
And tucked into bed all those nights
And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time
But I loved her first and I held her first
And a place in my heart will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But its still hard to give her away
I loved her first
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm going through
When a miracle smiles up at you
I loved her first
My dad was really having a hard time not crying and it was hard to look at him because I was afraid that we would both start balling :sad1: At one point, I started to laugh though because his arm was pulling my veil off my head and the funny thing was that in picture for the announcement of my parents’ wedding my mom’s head looks like it was leaning back because my dad’s arm was doing the same thing. Maybe it was because I was wearing her veil again. It’s always been an inside family joke because my parent’s have that photo in their bedroom and my mom mentions it all the time :bride:

My cousin ran the music for both of our dances again. Up next were Kris and his mom. They had only decided what they were going to do about 5 minutes prior when they went in the other room, so their dance was a little more lighthearted. His mom had picked out “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart. They were joking and having a good time during their dance and at one point his mom announced “As you can see we didn’t practice this!” :goodvibes

We had decided not to do a bridal party dance since so many members of our bridal party were already married (so would have preferred to dance with their spouses) and when we asked no one really wanted to do it. As soon as we finished the dances Marion directed us over to cut the cake. Taking one last look before we cut into it.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/VK12353-3-08.jpg
Our Living Seas manager gave us directions on how to cut through the fondant. I was surprised because I didn’t realize how tough it was going to be to get through it.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/VK12483-3-08.jpg
We then fed each other cake with forks, I wasn’t about to get anything on my dress. Randy got some cool shots with the castle. Afterwards we realized that we had cut through the words on the top of the cake and I guess they had planned to give us “And They Lived Happily After” but since we had cut through “And” we didn’t end up taking it home.

Here is all of our guests lined up taking photos during the cake cutting; I’m glad Randy got some random shots like these:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/VK00043-3-08.jpg
They immediately brought over plates with a small slice of each flavor of cake. For a recap we had carrot cake with cream cheese filling for the top, orange with orange filling for the middle, and chocolate cake with peanut buttercup filling. It’s hard to say which one was my favorite since they were all so yummy! One side note, the carrot cake we received was a different recipe than what we had at our tasting, but I’m not sure how that happened. I’m not a fan of nuts (besides anything with peanuts), so I asked for a nutless version, but the one at the wedding had nuts.
I ate all three of my mini slices. I later found out that Kris didn’t get any of his cake. As you can see food was definitely a priority for me that day. I later found out that my dad asked for a slice of each flavor too, we all wanted to make sure that we got our money’s worth that day
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/100_0633.jpg
While I was eating though I noticed a pretty big bug on my table. Normally, I don’t mind creepy crawly creatures, but I didn’t know how to dispose of it while I was sitting there in my wedding dress. I called over our LS manager and he immediately squished it and put down a new cloth; I think it probably crawled out of the centerpiece. It was actually pretty funny at the time.
I also requested the Mickey cakes for the three kids that were going to be at the reception. I had seen them in other bride’s reports including Caryn’s and knew that I wanted to have them too! ::MickeyMo I asked Marion and since there were only 3 kids she added them to the menu at no charge. I guess they normally come with a kid’s meal, but since I was just doing the buffet for them there is sometimes an add-on charge.

Right after the cake cutting, my maid of honor asked for a minute to speak. She had a poem that she read to Kris and I that was called “Forever Friends” she talked about how our love had grown out of our deep friendship, it was really touching :grouphug:

At some point, Randy had borrowed our rings and had some fun playing with them and the Mickey and castle Since I actually have 5 bands all together I only sent my engagement ring and one of the rings with the filigree carvings. Notice the hidden Mickey with our rings ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

At that point we then made an announcement that we wanted everyone to line up, so we could get pictures with each family. This worked perfectly and we got copies printed off which we included in everyone’s thank you cards. As everyone was lining up we got a quick picture with the one groomsman who had to be escorted to the front to catch his cab for the airport. There are a ton of these shots, but I’ll just post a couple.

Taking the pictures probably took over 30 minutes and by the time we were finished it was almost time to leave. At this point, my mom tells me that my diabetic uncle almost had to be taken to the hospital after having a spike in his sugar levels from not eating that morning prior to the ceremony and then drinking a lot of the sugary juice  He was okay at this point, apparently someone who worked in the LS was a nurse had checked him out and they had helped him stabilize his levels. I guess this had been going on during some of the dances and the cake cutting; I was so glad that he was okay and relieved that the situation was handled right away.
Kris and I went over towards where they were seating to get a shot with him and my aunt (she is my dad’s sister):
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/VK01663-3-08.jpg

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/VK02043-3-08.jpg
At this time, my hostesses and their moms coordinated the packing up of the snowglobes. We also collected the flowers, leftover cake (make sure to buy some small plastic throwaway containers because they will box them up in the containers already sliced up for you), etc. Then as our guests were heading down to the bus they were all handed something to carry. We had a ton of stuff including some Disney pillows that we had bought and had sitting on the cushioned seats along the dance floor. I don’t have a picture of any of these, but they now have a home on my couch in our livingroom.
My dad and my mom’s best friend’s husband attempted to box up one of the globes:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/100_3286.jpg
Our pastor was headed out empty handed and Marion stopped him and said everyone has to help carry something; it was kind of a funny moment. We even got to keep the huge bouquet of snapdragons that we had on the guestbook table.

Once everyone was out Kris and I got a few last shots. I wanted one by the piano and by the windows.

I asked Marion what could be done about Kris’ boutonnière since it was already wilting a lot and we still had pictures at the dessert party. She said that she would call floral and ask that they have another one delivered to the dessert party that night.
We were just standing there talking to Marion about a few more things and Kris asked her if we could get a picture with her. She was a little hesitant at first, but he insisted saying that without her the day wouldn’t have turned out so fantastic :worship: and boy was he right! This was the last time that we would see Marion that day although we spoke on the phone several more times. I was surprised she had stayed through the entire reception since she had said that usually she heads out during the reception and lives her assistant to finish things up.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/VK02173-3-08.jpg
As we rounded the corner to leave, we got the customary Living Seas sign pictures :fish:

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/VK02253-3-08.jpg
A few other miscellaneous things about the reception, the pianist was fantastic, but he played all Disney songs even though I had a requested a little more of a mix. Although, I’m not sure if he played lot of the songs that we asked for during the pre-reception before we arrived. While we were eating cake, my matron of honor was singing along to all the songs.
During the planning, we decided to only have the reception last until 1:30 pm, but if I had it to do all over again I would have extended it by another hour. We paid for vendor plates for Stan and Randy and I’m so glad that we made sure that they were fed during that time too, I know it is worth the little extra to make your vendors happy too. Also, we had a basket with things in the women’s bathroom (safety pins, static guard, hairspray, sewing kit, etc.) but we forgot to have someone pick it up, so don’t forget these little things!
Here are some other random shots from the wedding. These are the people that really made things happen for us that day.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Reception/IMG025-1.jpg
We then headed down to the bus. Since we only had one hotel pick-up that morning, Marion had arranged our schedule so we still had the chartered bus for another hour. We took that bus with the remaining bridal party (since one had left for his flight) while the rest of the guests were taken back to POR. We headed over to the Grand Floridian for some beach shots.

I had the bridesmaids help me cover up some of the spots on my dress :laundy: I didn’t get dirty from walking around the World Showcase, but the Rotunda was pretty dirty. I had heard that white chalk covers pretty well and that is actually true! They also used baby wipes for some of the larger areas. My bridesmaids had put together an emergency kit for us to carry the night before and we used it several times. Here they are working on my dress:

Hi Vanessa,
I followed your planning journal and am just catching up to your trip report. In the formal pictures before the reception, there was a shot that you said showed off your cinderella bracelet. I noticed that when the carriage is upside down (as it is in the picture) it looks like a hidden mickey! I don't know if you noticed it before, but I figured you would be interested to know! :goodvibes

Once we arrived at the Grand Floridian we headed inside and set a time for the bus driver to meet us back up front (this is an important piece of information as you will later see). Randy sent the bridal party towards the beach that lies between the hotel and the Wedding Pavilion. He then ran inside to make sure that the coast was clear from another bride. We knew from Marion that there was a chance another bride might be in there getting pre-ceremony pictures. Thankfully the coast was clear. I wanted to get some shots in front of the piano after seeing the ones that DisneyPrincessBelle (I think that's the correct screenname) got last summer after her wedding at Shades of Green. We grabbed a couple of shots and then headed outside to meet the rest of the group.

Hi Laura, I wanted to cry almost every time I heard that song. It isn't the style that my dad and I would typically go for (he used to be in bands during his younger days) but it was perfect for his only little girl :)
I love the effects Randy was able to do on that photo; he really does an amazing job. I think I'm going to have to play around with my version of Photoshop to see what I can do with some of my photos from our at-home reception.
The 5 ring thing is kind of a fluke. Since my engagement ring was a sapphire it wasn't a regular setting made to go with a wedding set. So, we had to get creative. I wanted two-tone with filigree style on my band (meaning with the carvings). Well, the jeweler couldn't order any bands in two-tone like that, so in the end we decided we would need one white gold band on either side to balance it out.
Once it came I liked the bands, but still wanted the two-tone effect (my pet peeve is when people mix white and yellow gold jeweler that isn't two-tone... i.e. yellow gold rings while they're wearing a white gold necklace and earrings- strange I know :rotfl:). The jeweler then suggested making the two thing yellow gold bands to mix in-between the layers. Then viola- my ring was created :) I will probably have the bottom two and the top two hooked together, so I'll only have 3 rings to worry about ;) They told me to wait a while to let my fingers adjust.
Vanessa more beautiful pics!!!!!!! It's great that you had time after the reception for more pics! And better yet that you weren't too exhausted to take them! :)
Val~ I was surprsied there wasn't more gripping out of the wedding party, but I think everyone was happy that they got a little break on the bus ride over :thumbsup2

Vanessa, I LOVE that idea with your rings! That is a pet peeve of mine as well (right not I have all silver jewelry on except my e-ring which is yellow gold and it makes me feel unmatched, LOL). I may look into having a thin white gold band for between my rings as well, that way I will match no matter what I am wearing! Yours are so beautiful all together, though, and so unique!
Note to Self: Make DF get a manicure if we are going to do a ring shot, LOL!

Your photos are gorgeous!! I hope ours turn out just as pretty, although my chubby self isnt going to help  I'm hopeing Randy can work some slimming magic :lmao: I love the ones with your parasol, my yellow one arrived today and is so cute, think I might have to steal a couple of your photo ideas and say to Randy 'make me as pretty as this please' :wizard:
Aren't the parasols such a cool touch, where did you end up ordering yours from?
I'm sure your photos will be just as beautiful  I know my MOH was a little self concious about her size too, but I think she looks fantastic in all the shots.
I stole a lot of ideas from other brides too, so feel free I know Randy realizes how much we all share back and forth with each other.
Vanessa,
Love the GF shots!! Everything looks beautiful!! Did you have to get special permission to take pictures there? Or can anyone just go there and get pictures?? I am bringing in my own photographer, so I wasn't sure about the rules on that...
We didn't have to get special permission, but we did have to get a schedule from Marion in advance. They don't like more than one bride appearing in one location at once. They will usually have a schedule for the day that outlines the approximate times that a bride will be appearing somewhere for photos. I would just tell your planner that you want to get pictures at the GF and wanted to know what the schedule was for that day :thumbsup2
:cool1: Yeay! Love the new pics!
Thank You for sharing!
Love your new pictures!!!! So beautiful! :goodvibes
Thanks for continuing to follow along on this never-ending report
Oh Vanessa I love them!!! Gorgeous!!!! I love the one of you guys with the parasol covering your heads and the last one of you!!!!!!!
Thanks, Lynn, I just love how Randy captures the needest images. I'm sure it's been just as hard for you to pick the favorites from your shots too!

The gold bands were relatively inexpensive to add and they were exactly what I wanted. The jeweler actually held two thing gold chains over my hand to show me how the bands would look. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with that odd pet peeve :rotfl:
I was prepared for our at-home reception (I had brought lotions, etc. for Kris) and wanted to recreate the shot and then I totally forgot

I figured getting the piano shots was a great way to incorporate in that part of my life. I had originally wanted to play a song for Kris at the reception, but I discovered that I would've only had about 20 minutes at a piano after our rehearsal. I figured not having 5 days to play through it right before the wedding would be too stressful!
wow - all beautiful pictures! I just love the ones with your train out. Gorgeous!
Thanks, I was so happy that Randy got some where you can really see the dress well :bride:

My parents had the same shot too and I wanted to reproduce it. It was kind of my way of following tradition :goodvibes

Just wanted to let all of you ladies know that I'm leaving tomorrow and won't be back until Monday, so stay tuned next week for more updates.
We're going with some friends to a cabin in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, so we'll be far away from technology once again :goodvibes

Geez! I'm away for a few days and when I return what do I find...I am behind by 5 pages! You are a quick one! The pictures you got on the beach are amazing. My beach pics were my favorites. My favorite one of you and Kris is the one that you use in your signature...of course my absolute favorite is the other one you use in your signature. I totally know why you use both...I wouldn't be able to pick between them either! You have me in suspense with the whole bus issue, but I guess I can wait a week to see what happens since you leave me no choice. :lmao: All jokes aside, have a great time on your trip. Relax, have fun, be safe, and we'll all be here waiting patiently and eagerly may I add when you return.

Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to check in, we had a nice weekend away, but while we were gone my uncle and cousin (father and daughter) passed away on the same day. Their deaths were completely unrelated, but it's a rough time for everyone we had one funeral today and another is tomorrow. This should settle down by the end of the week, so I'll be back around again in the next couple of days and should get through the wedding day soon. Keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers, my cousin has 2 teenage kids, so it's especially hard for them.
More amazing shots, Vanessa, you must be so pleased with Randy!
Have a great weekend away!
Randy really is fantastic, he was one of the best choices that I made in my planning process.

Let's just say with the bus it did finally arrive and thankfully we didn't have to walk back to POR. I'm thinking the one beach shot would be kind of cool as an artistic portrait on a canvas.

I was glad that it worked out with the extra bus time. You still ended up with some amazing shots in the World Showcase. Having an Epcot wedding always feels extra special :goodvibes

Thanks, the piano shots were my way of making up for the fact that I was nervous about playing a song for Kris. I had originally planned to play one at the reception, but I found out from Marion that I could only have like 20 minutes after our rehearsal to have access to a piano. Since we were going to be in Florida 5 days before the wedding I didn't think that I would feel comfortable only having 20 minutes for practice, so in the end Kris didn't get a song played for him at the reception.
