I will be starting a TR shortly. I'm even going to do a PJ if that makes sense this far past the wedding:rolleyes1 I just got a new job and with it a bit more free time, so I have time to devote to a report now. Vanessa is in the process of teaching me how to post my pictures correctly...then I'll get started. I would be very glad if you would join us when I do. Thanks for the interest!
Anna Marie

I can't wait to read your PJ and your report. Looking forward to hearing all about it. I enjoyed just listening to you and your mom talking about the dessert party, etc. :cool1:

Don't worry I won't let them ruin it for everyone else, I just wanted them to know that I am aware of what they're doing.

Anyway, I started uploading to Photobucket last night with the pictures from Randy. There are over 1,600 :cool1: which is really awesome, but it is making it hard to narrow down for my report.

I'm hoping to have some free time tonight to at least put up the pictures from the morning of the wedding when we were getting ready at the hotel.

 And to whomever it is that is lurking...I was there during the time of the wedding and let me tell you something....IT WAS BEAUTIFUL AND YOU SHOULD WANT TO LOOK AT THE PICTURES BECAUSE YOU MISSED THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE!
Ok, I'm better now...sorry, can't stand people that are out to upset the actual good people that are still out there. Keep it going girl...we can't wait for more and good luck with the move. Oh yes, and you can still PM me if you need some Hawaii info before you leave! It's almost here:goodvibes

I happened to stumble upon this thread by accident and have read every single post this morning. I'm feeling so cheered up! Glad the wedding went well, I'm sure the marriage will too :teeth:.

You really should be an event planner, your skills are beyond belief. The favors/goody bags/invitations/etc. were flawless. I am totally in awe. Makes me want to have a party and have you plan it just to see what creative things you would come up with!

What happened with the one groomsman(?) who decided to get a room at a DTD hotel instead of hanging with everybody or something like that. Did he ever get 'on-board'?

PS - I hear somewhere on the Internet that a fabulous new "anti-stalking" product is being sold. It's called "Grumpy B Gone" ;) .

Thankfully, we were able to get everything worked out. We actually ended up saving money on our new flights. The only downside was that it was a headache to get things worked out.

Thank you for reading through my report so far :surfweb: It's funny that you mentioned that about the event planning. I used to do a lot of events through organizations when I was in college and my DH keeps bugging me about getting into it, I guess if you ever need anyone let me know ;)

The groomsman ended up staying at POR with all the guys the night before the wedding which was a relief. He did move to a Downtown Disney resort again the night of the wedding (he didn't realize that there was 3 guys sharing the room at POR and was freaked out when he woke up with another guy next to him  )

Loving your trippie so far! All you hard work and planning really did pay off as everything seems to have worked perfectly! You really SHOULD take this up porfessionally!!! After booking all my stuff online and indpendently and seeing how great everything turned out I am seriously considering setting up my own business for UK brides who want to get married in Florida as i've gained a fair amount of contacts and ideas.

Perhaps on my next day off I shall start oganising all of my info together and build a website... I figured it could be a bit of a sideline!

The funny thing is that we always request certain buildings in Alligator Bayou :goodvibes We have stayed in the mansions before too, but they are so far from everything we prefer the convenience of the Bayou rooms especially in buildings 14 an 16. The other thing was that with our room block we wanted the Bayou since these are the buildings that have trundle beds in the rooms which was helpful for a lot of our guests.

Another bonus is that you're close to the first bus stop (if you're too far back the buses can get crowded by the time they get to your stop) and the main building with the food court, etc. is right there. I think if you're looking for a more intimate feel I would definitely go with the mansions. We've stayed in the mansions twice I think and the Bayou about six times, the decor definitely isn't as pretty but it has seemed to fit us pretty well :thumbsup2

My pictures are going to be mixed in with Randy’s on this post, so I will let you know which ones are Randy’s (although, I think it will be pretty obvious.) Plus, for some reason some of mine are showing up sideways even though I corrected them in Photobucket

Here are some pictures from the night before the wedding when I gave Kris his gifts. Another minor thing that had happened is that he accidentally forgot my gift back in Ohio. Thankfully, one of his friends was able to overnight it to him on Saturday and it arrived the afternoon of the wedding. He gave it to me at the dessert party, so you’ll hear about that later. I bought him University of Michigan cufflinks since we had met at school there. He actually wears cufflinks with some of suits, so I knew this was something that he could use again. I also got him the “Game Over” shirt as a joke since he loves video games.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Getting%20Ready/WeddingMarch32008WaltDisneyWorld270.jpg

The original plan the night before the wedding was for all of us girls to stay together. Two of my bridesmaids were super tired and couldn't stay up any longer, so they went back to their rooms with their families. Marquitta, Patriece, and I still ended up staying together. Patriece and I went to bed unofficially around 12:30 a.m. Marquitta was up almost all night working on her hair, nails, and steaming her dress. She really is an amazing woman and goes without sleep a lot- I think it comes from all those late nights in college studying! I was having a little trouble falling asleep, so I ended up asking her to draw the little curtain between the sink area to help block out some of the light.

When I woke up I was surprisingly calm. This day was a long time coming and I wasn't nervous at all. We got up at 5:15 a.m. and I jumped in the shower before Anna arrived. (Randy)

Anna was scheduled to do my hair and makeup along with my mom. Kris' cousin was coming to do Judi's hair and of course Marquitta and Patriece had done their own. I had forgotten a button-up shirt, so I ended up putting on my P&P sweatshirt.
Here is a first look at how I looked that morning, not very bride-like yet ;)

As you can see our room was a wreck! (Randy)
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Getting%20Ready/VK04003-3-08.jpg

While we were getting ready Marquitta ran over to get a picture of Kris. She actually had to deliver a few items that were supposed to be transported in the limo with the guys too. We were sending over the CD player that we had borrowed from my cousin who works at Epcot and the parasols that I had ordered to use for pictures that day. As a side note, we were using the CD player since we literally only had 5 songs that needed to be played on it between the ceremony and the reception, so it was easier than the iPod setup and it didn’t cost us anything extra!

Kris was actually in our friend’s room right next store, so we were careful that he didn’t catch a glimpse of me as people were going in and out of the door.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Getting%20Ready/WeddingMarch32008WaltDisneyWorld281.jpg

The day before the wedding Mousekeeping had left a surprise in our room, but I didn’t get to see it until the day of the wedding.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Getting%20Ready/WeddingMarch32008WaltDisneyWorld279.jpg

After Anna finished my hair, I took a break to get something to eat. Judi had been such a sweetheart and had bought bagels with cream cheese and donuts for all of us the day before. I wasn’t super hungry, but didn’t want to get sick later on. While I was eating, my dad came in and gave me a gift. It was a really cute Angel pin with a poem to “Daddy’s Little Girl.” I will post pictures of it, I forgot they were on my mom’s camera and I don’t have the images in Photobucket yet.

figmentfan814

I was so touched we were both fighting off tears. I decided to put the pin on my garter. I had bought the Mickey garter set from Disney Floral and of course had to have a University of Michigan one too!
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Getting%20Ready/WeddingMarch32008WaltDisneyWorld294.jpg

While I was eating, Anna started on my mom:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Getting%20Ready/WeddingMarch32008WaltDisneyWorld277.jpg

After she finished my mom, I had her change my hair a little bit. It was kind of loose in the front with the curls and I wanted something that looked more placed and precise if that makes sense. She switched it in just a few minutes and it turned out exactly how I wanted it!

Around this time Randy had to head out with the guys. Their limo was leaving at 7:00 a.m. and Randy wanted to make it over to Epcot first. Judi also ran up to the food court around this time for waffles. I had her bring me back a diet coke because I always need one in the morning and today was no different!

Shortly after that it was time for me to get dressed! :bride: Our limo was scheduled to arrive at 7:45 a.m.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Getting%20Ready/WeddingMarch32008WaltDisneyWorld286.jpg

Since I wasn’t wearing a crinoline and because my dress is pretty easy to get into, I was able to get it on myself. I did need some help with the poofing of the crinoline

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Getting%20Ready/WeddingMarch32008WaltDisneyWorld289.jpg

Around this time, my cousin, who was going to be the usher and stand up on my side as a bridal attendant arrived and so do my flowergirl along with her mom.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Getting%20Ready/WeddingMarch32008WaltDisneyWorld295.jpg

I think it's a great idea for you to start a business. The best part is that in the service industry you don't have a lot of startup costs (like merchandise, a building, etc.) so it's a win-win situation. You never know until you try it out. Who knows maybe we'll both make it big doing this kind of stuff :goodvibes

How did you like the alligator bayou? Were staying at POR and I really want the mansions cause they are so pretty but I will be ok if I get stuck with the bayou lol.

We stayed in Alligator bayou with my two sons (ages 5 and 2) and just the walk to breakfast they loved. I liked there too but next time we are going to stay in the mansions. We hope to get adjoining rooms because my mom will be joining us that trip.

We are actually going to Oahu and Maui and I can't wait :cheer2: Do you have any suggestions for our time on Oahu?

That's where we went on our honeymoon too. Oahu actually has a lot of tours. Are you scheduled for a breaksfast shortly after you go because we went to a breakfast at the hotel where we stayed and the had all tours that we did. Some we missed because DH got sick but it was just nice sitting on the beach.

You looked absolutely stunning. So pretty and happy. I wasn't nervous until I got on the steps of my church that's when I started to shake. I loved your sneaks too. The cufflinks were cute too. My DH likes that college, he didn't go there though but he roots for them.

Thank you so much, you have been so sweet too! I was really happy with how my hair, makeup, and everything came together; it was accidentally how I had hoped it would turn out. I was very fortunate, our bridal party was great, everyone went out of their way to help out with everything.

Sandy, I’m sure you won’t have any problems having people to help you out. After all, you’re the bride. I was surprised because Marion even called the morning of the wedding at like 6:30 a.m. to check on me, so I’m sure you’ll have your coordinator to keep an eye out for you too :)

It’s funny you mentioned having some time to spend just relaxing on the beach. Kris is worried that I am going to overplan the trip. He asked if we could just have some time for relaxation, but I told him I wasn’t sure if that was possible ;) I was surprised that I never got nervous, I was relieved once the wedding was over. Kris was squeezing my hands so hard during the ceremony my knuckles were turning white :rotfl:

Ok, I love diet coke in the morning, but I get blank stares when I order one for breakfast! I'm glad I'm not the only one!!! Can't wait for more!!
Me too, we must be kindred spirits :goodvibes

So do I. I get my cup of coffee and log onto the computer every morning. It's a sickness :lmao: that I will never get rid of.
Laura:surfweb:
I have the same sickness. Glad to know I'm not alone.:rotfl2:
It’s funny how we all have our vices that we have to have no matter what!

I found the castle on our planning session trip on Main Street. It is a piece of work by Jim Shore.

My bracelet is the Cinderella swarovski that matched my tiara. I have the necklace too, but it didn't go with the neckline on my dress.

We actually did the Grand Floridian after the brunch. If you notice one of the groomsmen is missing  He had to leave for his flight. We had some extra time on our charter bus, so we rushed over there for about 30 minutes of pictures.

Vanessa -- Thank you so much for sharing your pix, sweetie! Everything came together so beautifully that I can't begin to compliment you on all the touches.
These are the things that totally jump out at me:
1. The centerpieces are PERFECT!!!!! WOW!!
2. LOVED the Jim Shore castle. I bought the Lenox anniversary version and I am torn as between the two on which looks more authentic and fairy tale-ish. Very pretty.
3. Your cake was unique and really pretty!
4. The pix of you and Kris dancing are so romantic
5. The parasol pix are so beautifully composed, especially in WS. Just gorgeous
and last, but not least
6. The pix of you and Kris alone together (and especially the one where he is facing away and you have your head resting on his shoulder with your eyes closed) are swoon-worthy. Randy really captured the love you two feel for each other.

All of this makes me SOOOO excited about having Randy lined up for our VR!! :woohoo:

Thank you again for taking us all along on this wonderful journey. It has been such a pleasure seeing all of your efforts come together!

Wow! The pictures were all amazing, but the few that popped out at me were the one where you are holding the living seas ball in your hand, the ones in the Japanese garden, all of the ones that were reflections in the glasses and mirrors and limo window, the fireworks pics, oh and my absolute favorite is the one of you looking over your shoulder with those piercing blue eyes. There are many more too, like all the ones of all the little details you worked so long and hard of, that I love. To many to name them all. Thank you for sharing them with us...you made my night:hug:

The tiara was such a great find. I bought the entire Cinderella set for 75% off the outlet price from a Swarovski store in Texas last year. I actually found out about the sale on this board. I definitely might have to take my experiences to expand my professional career.

Hi Julie, I just sent you a PM. Don’t worry though I will still be posting some pictures here. I just don’t want to post links to everything.
So, any idea of where you might want your vow renewal in a couple of years? My parents had originally wanted one this year for their 30th, but our wedding kind of took that away from them. I’m hoping we can plan for their 35th.

Oh, by the way. Has anyone ever used Randy to take family photos around the resorts? I read on another thread that he does this. We are participating in the Expedition Everest Challenge in Sept and would love to have our family photos taken somewhere by a professional (not just a CM in the parks). Yes, he does and I just sent you a PM with a link to some albums. They’re just as great as his wedding shots.

Thank you again for taking us all along on this wonderful journey. It has been such a pleasure seeing all of your efforts come together!
Thank you, Cam, you are so sweet! :grouphug: I was really happy with how the centerpieces turned out. Our guests loved them and actually took time to check the different ones out around the room. For the castle, I had originally thought about the chocolate one from the pastry shop, but I wanted something that was more permanent that I could keep. If you use the Jim Shore one it is too heavy to sit on a cake, so that’s why we had it sitting on a separate pedal stool.

It’s funny that you mentioned the cake because I knew I drove poor Marion crazy worrying about it. We actually had a conference call with one of the pastry chefs to come up with the design. I was a little difficult because I didn’t want to pick anything straight out of the book/CD that they show you. It turned out perfectly though and I loved how it went with our theme.
Kris and I took dance lessons, so it was great to finally show off our moves. I’ve done ballet for years, so it was interesting to see Kris trying to learn choreography for the first time.

The parasols really made some cool shots. I’m so glad I decided to add them.
It’s funny because you’re right about Randy picking up our love. We’re not usually so sappy, so it’s nice to see the pictures capture our true feelings that we don’t typically show.

Definitely stay tuned for more. I’m hoping to finish the wedding day at least before we leave for Hawaii.

Vanessa,
I tried to PM you today, but it said that your box was all full! Thanks! Meghan

I sent you a PM, let me know if you have any trouble with the link.

Love them. Thanks for including me. Did you have a snowglobe for every table? I have to go read your PJ now :) to get all the details.
Yes, we did end up with 12 snowglobes. 8 went on the guest tables, 2 for the head table, and 2 on the table with the gifts, display, and guestbook.

Vanessa loved the pics! Espically loved the figment pic from the DP. My question is was that from Disney or did you find it somewhere? if so where did you find it?
We actually paid for the Figment centerpieces through Disney Floral. They weren’t very expensive, if you’re interested in the price let me know and I can send you the information. We also had cocktail napkins printed with foil imprints of his face that we used that night too. I am going to have to take a picture of them to share when I get to the dessert party.

OK... Oahu... I'd recommend hiring a car for sure! I'm so glad I hired one on our first visit... It made travelling around the Island so much fun and we got to see some of the less crowded beaches!

Hanauma Bay is WELL worth a visit, but get there early because it fills up quick. Great for snorkelling and is generally just a really pretty place.

Lanikai Beach is STUNNING!! The type of place that makes you think you are in paradise! There is actually nothing to do here other than relax!! We took a picnic and and our IPOD and speakers, and spent the afternoon chatting, singing and eating... Its one of my most favourite memories of Hawaii

Swap Meet at Aloha Stadium... We went on a Sunday and its basically a HUGE open air market selling your usual tourist tat, but also lots of stalls selling handmade crafts etc. It opens really early and is just across the street from...

Pearl Harbour. You can't go to Oahu and not visit here! Its incredibly moving and I was reduced to tears a fair few times! You could perhaps go to the Swap meet early morning, then head over here?! We purchased the 'all areas' pass which was well worth the money

Island Helicopter tour. An hours tour above the Island which we all really enjoyed... Some really great photo opportunities and some stunning lush scenery

OK... I could go on for pages!! Whereabouts are you staying when you're there?!

Vanessa....Just finally got to see your pictures!!! They are absolutely amazing!!! You are truly a beautiful bride as many have said....:) I am so happy that it looks like everything turned out so perfect on your wedding day. I do have some questions to ask you. Just curious: what did you carry in your little white purse? Did the ring that you wore on your pinky have some special significance? Where, oh where did you get your mickey and minnie cake topper? That is SOOO cute...What was in the little bags that were on the front seats during the ceremony? Where did you get the mickey head bubbles? Where did you get your champagne flutes for the reception, they were also really cute!! :lovestruc Also, I was just wondering when you had all of your pics taken? For example, the GF ones, was that the day after the wedding? Also the MK shots, were those taken after the wedding? I wouldn't think you would want Kris to see your dress before. Just full of questions tonight...I have been glued to this computer looking at your pictures for a long time!!:surfweb: I guess that is all I have for now....Thanks for sharing with me...:goodvibes

Thank you for taking time to really look at the pictures, I'm amazed at the detail that you were able to remember. In my purse I carried my cell phone :goodvibes (I only answered for Marion because used it to keep in touch with us all day) and I think I had lipstick in there too. Not very much, my bridesmaids carried an emergency kit that had most anything else that I might have needed. I bought the purse through Disney floral.

The ring on my pinkie was actually my grandmother's wedding band. Both of my mom's parents have passed away, so I wanted to have a little something of them with me that day.

The Mickey bubbles are actually from Walmart. If you search Mickey bubbles online there are some party supply places that sell them too. I was told by Disney Floral that they were trying to get the license to sell them too. We added the names to them using a Sharpie paint pen.

The flutes we bought at the Arribas Brothers shop at Downtown Disney http://www.arribas.com/ They have some things that you can buy online too.

All of the morning pictures were taken at the World Showcase; a definite perk of an in-park wedding! The ones on the beach were between the Grand Floridian and the wedding pavilion. We took these after the reception. We still had our chartered bus for another hour, so we arranged to take the bridal party over there.

The Magic Kingdom shoot was two days later. Kris and I didn't want to get up early again right after the wedding, so we scheduled them for an extra day later. We definitely didn't want to see each other that morning, plus the guys already had to leave by 7 a.m. for their pictures. Since we were in Epcot our ceremony was at 9 a.m. and since our MK shoot was from 6-9 a.m. there wouldn't have been time.

It is nice to be able to have Disney do everything, one less thing to have to coordinate. I would recommend requesting Paul; he did a fantastic job for our MK shoot!

We actually bought the topper marked way down through Disney shopping. I actually had the precious moments one to use and that one was just for keeps . However, once I got the castle the Mickey matched perfectly. The silver bags had hankies for our parents and my grandma. They were embroidered and had a little card in there with a short poem.
I look forward to finishing up after our trip too :woohoo:

We just got back on Friday and I spent the weekend trying to get readjusted to the 6 hour time difference again I should forewarn everyone that my laptop is still being repaired :badpc: (I sent it our before we left for Hawaii) so I have to sneak time on the computer from my DH who is always glued to his laptop. I’m suppose to get it back some time this week, so I can hopefully finish the wedding day for my TR this weekend. After I finish up the wedding stuff I will do a short report on Hawaii.

Laura, I would love to see a picture of you and your DH in Hawaii! Pearl Harbor was so interesting, both of our grandfathers fought in WWII so that made it more touching. I highly recommend the audio tour for anyone that might be visiting there. It’s free to visit the memorial, but it’s worth springing the $5 for the audio tour. They even had some of the soldiers that were there that day on it.

You have talked about the Design board several times...I was just wondering where that was? Thanks! :goodvibes
It looks like Wendy was able to answer your question, but let me know if you want any designs sent to you. I have the Disney bride and a few other ones saved on my computer :bride:

I highly recommend Randy, I can’t remember if I mentioned this before but he was just recognized by the Knot for the second year in a row for his work. He is so easy to work with and his work is phenomenal. Plus, his prices are great for a budget.

Have you decided who you’re using for your hair and makeup? Anna from Makeover Majic was so great, she is really easy going and will do anything you want.

How exciting for you to finally be on your wonderful honeymoon!!! :cool1:

I hope you find some of the special spots that are outside of the tourist areas that make Hawaii such a special place to be..
We had a rental car for several days on Oahu and the entire time on Maui :drive: We took some time to go up to the North Shore which was so much more relaxed and laid back compared to Waikiki. I’m glad we had that chance. We also stopped at the Dole Pineapple Plantation for a Dole Whip :drinking1 On Maui we got visit several parks that most of the regular tourists don’t have time to do, so that was nice too!

How long did you live in Hawaii? I was amazed talking to locals how expensive it is to live there. I noticed the price difference in everything we bought plus when we were on Maui gas was $4.20 per gallon :scared1: It must have been an amazing experience though regardless of the costs :beach:

this is one when we were in Maui, there was a path to walk along the beach from each hotel.

Okay, here's a short update after some delay. My computer finally got back yesterday, but they ended up reinstalling my harddrive, so I have been reloading programs and files to get my computer up and running again.

Wedding morning continued~
The limo for the guys picked them up at POR at 7:00 a.m. :scared1: My MOH took a bunch of things over to their room including the CD player for a couple of songs during the ceremony and reception along with the glow necklaces for the dessert party shortly before they left. Meanwhile, we finished getting ready in the room; this was around the time I got in my dress.

Here are some pictures of the guys arriving at Epcot; I don't have any real details about their arrival except that there was a problem with the limos. Apparently one of the limo drivers hit something "backstage" by the AAR on the way out which created a big traffic jam there. The limos in turn were late to pick us up at POR around 7:40.

A good shot of Spaceship Earth and the AAR that morning:

I will post some more pictures of the guys pre-ceremony tomorrow.

During this time, Marion had arrived at the rotunda and called me because they could not find the sand ceremony set. After I gave her a detailed description she sent someone back to Disney Floral who found it in the boxes that we had sent them the week before. This was the second time I spoke to Marion that morning and it was only 7:30 a.m.

Another side track with the limos was that our friend who was singing at the ceremony was supposed to ride with the guys in the limo so he could meet the pianist to practice. Well, he thought he could drive his own car over there and took off. Since it was backstage he would not have been allowed through security (in-park weddings require chartered transportation like the buses and limos that we had for everyone). We had to have his wife (my matron of honor) track him down by phone to make sure he got back to the resort in time to ride with us.

This is my favoite picture out of all the ones in this post! I think it's because it says to me "Hey, the focus is on me today because it's my wedding, but these guys are behind me to support me and join in on my special day" (ok, that came out really corny, but it's hard to put into words!). Vanessa! Great pictures! Looking forward to more!

As requested... ;)

Once we were all dressed I had one more phone call to make before we went to wait for the limo. I had to call the pastor to see if he was riding on the bus with the guests or if he was driving his own car. Since they would be able to leave the reception a little early (our first bus would leave the LSS at 1:15 pm) they decided to ride on the bus. They had to be back in Jacksonville for something with their son that evening. I was glad this worked out because I would have had to get Marion on the phone to give him directions to backstage at Epcot!

We went outside to wait for the limos and we didn't see anything. Someone had to run up to the lobby area to check to see if it accidentally went there, but thankfully Marion called to tell us about the little situation with the limos backstage at Epcot. From what I found out later one of the drivers hit some trash cans that went into the service road behind the countries. I never got any real details, but this put us about 10 minutes behind which was valuable picture time!

Waiting in front of our room for the limo:
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/100_0582.jpg
There's another picture that I forgot to load into Photobucket that looks on the other side of the porch with my parents, the hostesses and their moms along with my flowergirl and bridal attendant. We were quite a site with us all standing on the porch.

Around this time my MOH's parents walked by on their way back to their room. They had ran to the lobby to buy the newspapers I requested. Coming from a media background I always collect headlines from important dates. I had set a reminder in my phone to get a paper from our wedding day over 6 months earlier. I was so thankful that they had agreed to pick it up for me. It might have been funny to see a bride in the lobby shop buying a paper :bride:

The limo finally arrived and pulled up in front of our building. I was riding in one with my bridesmaids, flowergirl, and her mom
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/100_3266-1.jpg
There is a picture of the bridesmaids sitting together (that I took, but alas in the 2,000 plus I had to sort through I forgot to upload it). This is a neat shot that my matron of honor took when she asked to use my camera I was curious what she was shooting and it was their reflection in the mirror above the bar.

http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/100_3269-1.jpg

Once we were on our way I pulled out the video camera. I had been video clips all morning and the ride over to the ceremony would be no exception! I might have gotten some shots backstage :rolleyes1 Everyone was so excited on the ride over.

We noticed a water bottle sitting in one of the cupholders so we looked inside the bar and it was empty! I was dying for another diet coke. We later found out that the groomsmen had drank everything and with the limo fiasco backstage they had forgotten to refill the bar since they were running behind. Apparently the other limo was still fully stocked with pop and water :headache:

When we pulled up behind the AAR we only pulled to the side gate. I didn't think about it at the time, but as you can see in the guys pictures we should have pulled in front of the building on the World Showcase walkway. Apparently, Disney would have nothing of it after the driver had already had an accident that morning. The downside was that Randy and Stan were out front waiting for us, so we didn't get any of those cool shots.

I realized I am lacking in the amount of pictures that I uploaded for this time, so you will have to stay tuned :happytv: for more updates. It probably won't be until tomorrow night.

That sucks about the soda and the limo. It's always those little things that make everything magical. You should have had front gate service for the day princess. And I'm sure if Kris is anything like my DH he was like...ha ha:laughing: ...I got to and you didn't. Na na na na boogers! To which I would reply you drank all the royal courts refreshments! Hello, I was just reading up on the TR and I noticed your message....I really have no idea what the difference is between an attendant and a BM. So, can't really help you there...but I noticed your pic and was wondering what color and type your flowers are in your bouquet? I can't tell if those are a really dark burgundy color or more of a brown color...I asked because my colors are chocolate and pink, and it just caught my eye....:)

Vanessa can I ask you what is a hostess?

I know some people assing slightly different job duties, but for us the two hostesses were in charge of handing out the programs and bubbles at the ceremony. They also helped with some of the corsages. Then at the reception, they made sure that everyone signed the guestbook and helped handle the packing of the leftover cake and picking up our snowglobe centerpieces. They also helped carry all of our miscellaneous things like the parasols, etc. I know at my matron of honor's wedding she also had her hostesses serve appetizers at the reception and they walked the bridal party through the line carrying their plates for them. :goodvibes To be honest, I actually got the idea from attending weddings for my African American friends, I've never been to a wedding in my family where they had hostesses.

I used the term bridal attendant for my male cousin who stood up on my side during the wedding. I didn't think he wanted to be called a bridesmaid :rotfl: and he wasn't a groomsmen because I wanted him on my side. He even went with all of us girls that morning for pictures instead of with Kris and the groomsmen.

I was a Hostess at a friend's wedding in law school. I did some of the duties that you described. She asked me to do that because she had already selected her bridal party before we met. I ended up having a great time though. I got to be a part of her day without all the additional stress of being a bridesmaid.

It was a great way for me to include my two cousins since they were a lot younger than my bridesmaids and we didn't really have the budget to add more to our bridal party.

I had actually totally forgot about the fact that our limo should've pulled all the way around. At least I didn't think about it, so I wasn't disappointed. Here is everyone as we're rounding the corner towards the front of the building. As we were coming around the corner I kept thinking how excited I was for everyone to see another Disney park. My bridesmaid, Patriece, works with international students and I thought she would love the World Showcase. Randy and Stan were both standing there waiting for us.

When we got inside Marion and her assistant started handing out the flowers. Somehow my mom seemed to disappear. She's not in any of the pictures and she doesn't remember where she was at this point either. I'm assuming somewhere right in that area, maybe we'll see her on the video :)

I know some people have complaints about their floral, but I was so pleased :flower: Laura did an exceptional job with everything. The mix of spring flowers in my bouquets far exceeded my expectations.

I definitely give Disney Floral an A++!! :flower3:

The only small thing was here I am looking at my bouquet because the charms with the pictures of my grandparents were done wrong. I wanted them around the base, so they wouldn't show (just a personal touch for me) but they had been added running along the ribbon.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Girl%20Pictures/VK06053-3-08.jpg

Here's how they had them lined up; I also had a brooch from my grandmother which was on the front and it was suppose to show in the shots. The band on my pinky finger was my grandma's wedding ring too.
http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x62/vcf81/Wedding/Girl%20Pictures/VK06243-3-08.jpg

When I mentioned to Marion that the frames were on wrong she put in a call to the florist. They were already over at the Living Seas, but she asked for them to send someone back over. (Marion is in the picture above with all of us looking at the flowers, I love how she has her regular glasses and sunglasses on; it's so business like and ready to go at any minute ;) )

I don't remember too much more happening except I kept wondering where they had hidden Kris and the guys. I stole a quick peek in the rotunda to see the setup. Everything was beautiful. The splurge for the chaircovers was definitely worth it! They had already sat out the programs on the seats, so that was one less thing for the hostesses to do. I remember at this point they took our purses and bags somewhere. Right before the ceremony I kept asking for it again to touch up my lipstck, but I could never get it back.

Up next pictures in the World Showcase....

Three out of my four grandparents have passed away- both of my mom's parents and my grandpa on my dad's side. My grandma on my dad's side was able to make it down to Disney for the wedding. I was so happy that she was able to make the trip considering she just turned 85.

Yep, the not quite right peonies were mine. Before the wedding I was considering preserving my bouquet, but the minute I actually saw it, I changed my mind. I had Rose Dizon.

Did you preserve yours? It really was beautiful.

I think you deserve a prize for the most DIY projects for a disbride. There are so many disbrides who have done tons of amazing DIY projects, but I think you may have the most and it's fun seeing how they all got implemented throughout your trip and the actual wedding! The tiny framed photos of your grandparents was a wonderful idea!

I had to go back and see what you were referring to. I instantly thought of the hostess twinkies and cupcakes! :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao:

Gotcha ;)

Vanessa - I am so enjoying this so far and you're not even married yet. I love the girls dresses how you did them in different pastels, your flowers were gorgeous.

Lovin your TR!!! I love the little frames on the bouquet. That is a very nice touch. I have a broach of my grandmothers I would like to have on my bouquet as well for my "something old". The bouquet was beautiful!! Can't wait to see more!
I was really happy with how the broach looked. I had several to choose from, so I sent pictures to Laura and told her to choose the one that would work the best.

What a wonderful way to remember your grandparents. :lovestruc

Everything looks so beautiful so far! I'm sure it just gets better!

Jennifer
Thanks, Jennifer! The day does get better or at least for me it all played out into a perfect fairytale.

Vanessa, your flowers are gorgeous. I really like the idea of the pictures on your bouquet. My mom passed away 1 1/2 years ago and when I saw what you did I immediately knew I should do something similar. Now I can't imagine not doing it! Thank you so much! I can't wait to read more!! :surfweb: :goodvibes
It was such a nice way to honor their memory. My grandma (my mom’s mother) had passed away before my parents were even married and my mom said that she wished that people did little things like that 30 years ago at the time of their wedding.

I’ve heard some really good and some really bad stories about Rose, so I’m sorry that you were one of the ones that had a bad experience.

I am having mine preserved through Keepsake. I ended up spending a little more than I originally planned, but I can’t wait to see it. Our frame will have my bouquet, Kris’ boutonniere, our invitation, program, and a picture. It is going to be 18X20 which is kind of big. Some of the extra flowers I’m having made into a Christmas ornament. I got a little carried away as you can see

Thank you for noticing all the little touches in the DIY projects. There were some that got pushed to the wayside (including a lot of homemade treats that we wanted to make) but I was so happy with how everything turned out. Actually, the Mickey chocolates that I was going to make for the Welcome Bags are now being made for our at-home reception.

I was hoping for more, but I guess I have to be patient and wait :rotfl:

I love it so far! :goodvibes
I know, I really want to get more done too, I’ve just been swamped with moving and our at-home reception is coming up really quickly. Organizing the decorations and taking care of RSVPs, etc. has been making me go crazy! :scared1:

I just popped in to see if you had made another post....and YEA YOU DID!:cool1: I love the pin your dad gave you! My mom did a disappearing act when Brad and I were cutting and eating our cake (my stepdaughter had to go to the bathroom of course) but no one noticed she was gone to stop us...including me. Not a very good daughter I know:sad2: I was caught up in all the excitement. Oh well...she got to see it on the video :rolleyes1
Anna Marie
I was really touched by the pin from my dad; it was nice that he picked out something like that for me on his own. That’s too funny about your mom disappearing too. At least my mom didn’t miss anything too important.

Vanessa finally I caught up!!! Great pictures :)!!!!!!! I love the pictures and brooch on the ribbon!!!! Very nice!!!
Thanks, Lynn! I feel like such a slacker; you have blown through your report and I’m not even to my wedding ceremony yet :upsidedow

How sweet of your dad to give you the pin! Love your memorial pins!

Keep it coming:surfweb:
I thought I was going to loose it when my dad gave me the pin; it really was so sweet for him to think of it.

I love those pins, Vanessa. Cant' wait to read more. Everything you did looks like it came together so nicely. All of our projects are so inspiring!
Thank you so much, I hope that other brides have just as much fun with their projects as I did!

I love the picture Idea....I got a heart shapped locket andI am going to put a picture of my Mom from her wedding day and one from right before she passed away inside and add it to my bouquet!
The locket sounds like it will be beautiful. As I mentioned above, my grandma had passed away before my mom’s wedding and I know she would have loved to include her memory that way too.

Love the wedding pics. They were beautiful
All I can say is that Randy is AMAZING! :cloud9:

I was so happy with how the colors all came together. Since I didn’t see all the dresses side by side until the wedding day it was a little nerve racking.

Thank you! We had a wonderful time :goodvibes

Thank you for thinking of us, Cam :thanks: It was indescribable!
I am glad that we had some time after the wedding before we left so we were really able to enjoy ourselves :love2:

It was fabulous to live there, and we did for 12 years. But couldn't really build a future for my girls. The cost of living was so high, it wasn't really possible to save for a house or their college or anything else really!

We moved to Arizona 12 years ago, and both daughters will have graduated from College this year, and own more than 1 house!

But no :beach:

:welcome: to the boards and thank you for spending time reading my journals. I hope I kept you entertained :surfweb:

You can go to www.tickerfactory.com or another favorite is www.daisypath.com Daisypath allows you to upload a picture that is attached to your ticker. You can also create a Disney one at mickeypath.com Basically, all you do is select what you want and enter your date then you copy over the code that is generated. Just go under your user CP and then edit signature then paste the code.

So, when is your date? I just love hearing about people who are just starting out with their plans.

Hello...I was just wondering how many people you were allowed to have at Fresh for your rehearsal luncheon?? I am seriously considering using their space, I think it would fit better into our budget. :) Also, I would really like to start my PJ sometime soon, but I have no idea how to post pics.... Is it kind of like posting my wedding ticker? We had 25 at FRESH, but there was plenty of space for more. If you want the contact information or copies of the menu just let me know. They really were fantastic and it was such a beautiful room, plus the privacy was nice!

For the pictures, most of us use www.photobucket.com Just create an account and then you can upload images to their site. In the area near where you browse to upload an image select the image size 640x480, so they fit on the screen for the board. Don't worry it will make sense once you get in there. Once an image is uploaded you just copy over the "IMG code" into your posting and then the image will appear :goodvibes

For a link, I just copy it over into my post and it will automatically become a hyperlink.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm more than happy to help out :cheer2:

Plus, the folders that were given out didn’t all include the same things because some people obviously didn’t get an invitation to the tea and people who weren’t coming to the Welcome Party didn’t get one of those invites either. Also, I had other inserts such as the pressed penny sheet that only went to certain people. I will post all the things that were inserted into the folders, but here is a basic rundown:
 Welcome Newsletter
 Welcome Party Invitation
 Hidden Mickey document
 Scavenger Hunt
 Customized Crossword Puzzle
 Tea Party invitation
 Park Maps
 Contact Cards (my dad spent a lot of time on these, so I’ll have to post these)
 Pressed Penny guide (and some shiny pennies!)
 Postcards with stamps

I just sent you over an email with the information for FRESH. I just did a blanket invitation to all the ladies that were coming down that weekend. Kris also invited all the guys for the Detroit Tigers baseball game at the same time. We had a few of the ladies that went to baseball instead, but that was okay too. I paid for my mom (Kris' mom wasn't there yet), my grandma, the bridesmaids, flowergirl, and my great aunt. Everyone else paid for themselves. We had 18 of us, so there was a pretty good crowd.

Here is the front page from the pressed penny guide. It just shows you all the locations on property where you can have a Disney character imprinted on the face of a penny through a big press.

General Tips:

Did you know?

Walt Disney World is the number one honeymoon destination in the world.

Fast Pass – learn to love them! They are in every park and on the most popular rides. This system allows you to stick your ticket into a machine which and then you get a “Fastpass” printed that lists a time to come back and ride your attraction. You can get one fast pass every two hours or five minutes after your current fast pass is valid. Great rides for FastPass at Magic Kingdom - Buzz Lightyear, Space Mountain, Winnie the Pooh, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain; Epcot - Test Track, Soarin, and Mission: SPACE; Animal Kingdom - Expedition Everest, Kiliminjaro Safari; Disney Hollywood Studios - Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. Another tip for Fast Pass -send one member your party (the fastest walker) to the attraction with all of your group’s tickets, so they can get the fastpasses then meet back up with everyone to save on time.

If you do not mind being split up some popular rides offer a line of single riders. It will help if you do not have a fastpass and you want to get in and out. This works out great on rides like Test Track at EPCOT.

If you're staying at a WDW resort, tell the CM you want your purchases sent to your resort. This service is free to resort guests, & your package will be sent to resort shop for you to pickup the following day, so you don’t have to worry about carrying it around. Remember this only works if you aren’t checking out the next day. If you're not a Disney resort guest, you can have your package sent to the main entrance for picking up as you leave the park.

EPCOT Tips:

Did you know?

More than 30 tons of the fruits and vegetables served in Walt Disney World restaurants are grown in The Land Pavilion at EPCOT.

Thirsty? Check out Club Coca-Cola in Epcot for FREE soda from different countries. Make sure to check out “Beverly” from Italy, it is delicious!
In Italy, at the World Showcase, wander around behind the shops (where the fountains are) and look for little red press-buttons. If you press the button, water squirts from a different location.
Excellent viewing for Epcot’s Illuminations is the bridge between France and the UK
After watching Illuminations at Epcot, exit the International Gateway and walk around the Boardwalk and Beach Club area. Beaches and Cream has gourmet ice cream at reasonable prices. Ask about the kitchen sink! It contains all their toppings and ice cream flavors. Vanessa, Kris, and her parents attempted this feat once and failed because Kris’ mint ice cream made everything taste like mint! Boardwalk has a Sweet Shoppe with premium desserts at a lower price than the fancy restaurants. Also, check out a game at the ESPN Zone. When all closes at 11pm, you can hop a bus to Downtown Disney, and then change over to your resort.
Our favorite attractions at this park are Soarin’, Test Track, Mission: SPACE, Journey Into Your Imagination with Figment! Also, take time to check out the great shops in the World Showcase, our top picks are Japan and the United Kingdom.
Our favorite foods at this park are funnel cakes near the American Pavilion, eating at either of the restaurants in Mexico, Le Cellier in Canada (one of the hardest places to get a reservation at Walt Disny World) or heading out the International Gateway to walk over to Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club for a great burger!

Magic Kingdom Tips:

Did you know?

It would take one person, eating two hamburgers every meal, 4,109 years and 215 days to eat the number of burgers served at Walt Disney World each year.

While at the Magic Kingdom, wait until the end of the night, right before closing to do the popular rides in Fantasyland. There is usually little or no wait and you can go on all the rides. If you get a chance try to get on Dumbo right around the time of the fireworks, it is so cool to be up in the sky at the same time they are going off.
On Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, check out the old style phone in the General Store or the Main Street Market House. Pick up the receiver and listen in to a conversation going on. It's one of those old style turn-of-the-century phones, the kind with separate ear and mouth piece. There's another phone in Tomorrowland under the TTA and Astro Orbiter.
At the shows and 3D rides, if you want the best seat, stay in the middle of the crowd in the preshow area. If you stand right near the doors, you'll have to move right to the end of the row.
On Buzz Lightyear in Magic Kingdom, aim for the highest targets to score major points! Warning: Vanessa’s dad is a pro at this game, so watch out for a challenge!
Need a break? Take a much needed rest by riding around on the People Mover in Tomorrowland. It is a slow attraction that moves on a track which passes through some bigger rides like Space Mountain. It’s definitely worth while if you’re afraid to ride the rollercoaster then you can at least see the inside of the ride!
Great viewing for Magic Kingdom’s Wishes fireworks is to the right of the castle in the sidewalk area leading down to the water surrounded by roses.
Our favorite attractions at this park are Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, Hall of Presidents, Buzz Lightyear, Carousal of Progress, People Mover, Pirates of the Caribbean, and It’s a Small World (okay the last is one of Vanessa’s favorites).
Our favorite foods at this park are the pineapple dole whips in Adventureland, catching lunch at the Plaza Restaurant, or eating dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.

Animal Kingdom Tips:

Did you know?

Animal Kingdom contains live plants from every continent on Earth except Antarctica.

In Animal Kingdom, start early in the day with the Safari while it’s not hot to see the most animals. Or go when they have extra magic hours for resort guests- the animals will most likely be out later- when it’s cooler. We prefer going later because it is really hard to drag yourself out of bed that early in the morning!
In Animal Kingdom on the Kali River Rapids be sure to stop on the bridge after exiting the ride. You'll find two elephants whose trunks will spout water at the unsuspecting riders below if you push their buttons
Our favorite attractions at this park are Primeval Whirl, Dinosaur, Expedition: Everest, and the Lion King show.
Our favorite foods at this park are pretty limited. Grab a chocolate covered frozen banana or enjoy some barbecue at Flaming Tree.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Tips:

Did you know?

The coaster track for Rock’n ‘Roller Coaster was built first and then the building was constructed around it.

Look for the key under the doormat at Muppets 3D in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Just after you go through the turnstile, go to your right and you'll find a welcome mat, take a peek underneath it. It is near the “Security Office.”
On a corner across from the old Hunchback theatre at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there is a streetlight with an umbrella attached to it. You pull on the umbrella handle and it rains (or more like mists) around you.

Vanessa, I too would love to see the welcome newsletter and the guest tips. I was also curious about how you decided on who to invite to your tea party. I am just looking for what some different people did, as this has been a sticky point for me.

Thanks

Amy

Amy, as you can see from my other response I invited everyone to come to the tea. I was just more selective in who I paid for since we couldn't afford to cover everyone. I was happy that no one seemed jaded or upset that we didn't pay for everyone because if we would have had the extra cash I would have been happy to host them all!

pixiedust: After making the call to Disney Floral we headed out to take some shots around the World Showcase. We started out getting some with Spaceship Earth in the background. This was a definite must for me! Guess what! I didn’t upload one of these images to Photobucket, so I will have to edit and add one later.

Just as we started heading towards Italy someone from Disney Floral arrived. It was funny because she started talking about how beautiful my bouquet turned out. She said to me that she was a little worried when she saw the order because she thought it would look like something for a baby shower with all the pastels, but she said when it was finished it looked fantastic!

She easily moved the frames up under the bouquet and then was off to head back to the Living Seas. When she got them on there though one was accidentally turned around (the frames are double sided) so a picture of my dog was showing instead of my grandma! So, my dad and even Randy helped me get the frame reversed. Randy was such a big help all day long with little things like that! They were stuck in with really long pins that weren’t easy to work with especially with nails on!

Here is the final result; this also shows the brooch which was on the front of the bouquet.

At this time, I just kept thinking to myself that I couldn’t believe that it was my wedding day! I also kept reminding myself to enjoy every single second because I know so many people say that the day just flies by; it was so surreal to have everything coming together after all the planning :cloud9:

As you can see in some of these shots it was a beautiful day. After all the things that had gone wrong over the last year God blessed us with a crystal clear day. It ended up being 75 degrees and amazing. There were other days that week where it got pretty chilly and it rained a little every other day. We knew someone who got married at Seabreeze Point the next day and a storm was blowing in during their ceremony

Up next: Even more shots in Italy!

Thank you; I had a friend make us a slideshow with a couple hundred of the shots and we watched it last night. It was so nice to see them all come together. It was really sweet because as we were watching Kris kept saying how wonderful the day had been and how beautiful he thought I looked :lovestruc

Great pictures!! I'm so glad you were able to appreciate the day as it went. Everything is looking so fabulous.
I really wanted to make sure that I took time to take in all the little details. As much as we had went through over the last year, it was surreal to finally have the day arrive. In the back of my mind I realized that I might not have even made it to that day if the outcome of my accident had been different. It was definitely a day of self-reflection.

This is my cousin who stood up on my side. We used the title “bridal attendant” for him. He also doubled as the usher.

After we finished up, we were ushered back towards the Rotunda. I couldn’t believe that it was time for the wedding! Marion met us outside and said that she thought we might have to go upstairs to the Parlor then come down the elevator. This was because I had requested that I didn’t enter from the main doors because I have seen some wedding videos in the rotunda where once the door is opened for the bride there is this horrible halo of light (just because of the time of day with the morning ceremonies) and everything is washed out. I wanted everyone to actually be able to see me when I entered, so we had requested that I enter from the gallery which is off to the right when you enter. Well, that morning no one had came to unlock the door. Marion immediately got on her radio again and within two minutes someone was there to let us in the side of the building! She truly was an amazing coordinator! As we were walking through the gift shop I thought hey this is pretty cool, how many people get the shops opened early just for them :yay:

As a side note, my shoulder that was injured in the car accident started killing me at this point, so my matron of honor (who is a physical therapist) started massaging it for me. That few minutes helped out a lot; I think I was tensing up from all the excitement!

It may be a while :lmao: I'll get there though I promise! I will also let you know what issue of the magazine to look for, but it won't be out till fall sometime. I loved your update! It was nice to visit family this weekend down in Virginia who were still talking about all the little extras. Items from the Welcome Bag appeared in several places in their house too (sewing kit, Mickey jar) so I know they got lots of use!
