Hi,
just out of interest, how much did cost for the night at Gatwick Hilton? And how much in clubcard vouchers did you need for the deal?
Thanks! :)

Hiya, the rate varies - but what I had written down from Jan - the rates which were available then (for a family room for a Sat night)-
Hilton Tesco rate £211.70
Fully flexible B+B also 211.70
Advance purchase non flexible B+B £179

Thanks for that.
Did you work out how much it would normally cost if you didn't use the clubcard deals?

Hiya -
yep, we would have paid (well, we wouldn't actually, way beyond our means...:confused3) the last one - £179 as it includes breakfast for us all and we had no plans to cancel it and have holiday insurance if we did have to....
So cash equivalent = £179
Tesco voucher cash equivalent = 211.7 / 4 = £53 ish
Without Tesco vouchers we would probably have found a "value" hotel for around the £50 mark anyhow.. So by using the vouchers, we "spent" about the same but get a bit of luxury... and proximity (not all the hotels provide a free shuttle).

just booked it for $37 :goodvibes
I used my Hilton points from previous stays and bought the extra few I needed to pay for the stay. Looking forward to not having to get up at sillly o'clock in order to drive to the airport and worry about traffic jams/accidents on the way too.
The hotel looks great - enjoy your stay too

We got our vouchers the other day too - we used it to pay for the in-laws room at the Hilton as we needed parking too and the Tesco Hilton deal doesn't include parking. TBH, we always stay there and we had loads of Clubcard vouchers so it made sense for us. Roll on the 9th April :)

Tesco and Hilton have now changed thier rate - you must stay for two consequetive nights over a weekend.
Had a big row with both of them as I had sent for my Tesco Deals tokens based on the old method of being able to book just one night but before the tokens arrived the deal was changed to two nights. Neither Tesco or Hilton would budge and said that 'all deals were subject to change'.
I was cross because they did not publicise the change or give warning when they obvioulsy knew well in advance of it being changed on the website as the new offer was printed in the February Deals magazine.
I wanted to book a Wednesday night stay before our flight on the Thursday morning, and after fiddling on the Hilton website realised that a Wed night, Thursday night, departing on a Friday morning counted as a weekend stay and was therefore eligible to be paid with Tesco Vouchers so bit the bullet and booked that. I know it cost me more in Tesco Vouchers (£105) but still seems 'free' and does include breakfast.

Hiya -
I think that is really mean of them!!! I am glad we traded for the deals vouchers in Jan, or we might have been in the same position. Who really wants to have to spend (or just pay for) 2 nights at an airport hotel??? And it has to be a weekend too.......they have really taken the gloss off that deal now.
