Hello all,

please help me out. Usually we stay in a WDW hotel and will be this year, but we usually eat at WDW also. This year we are not doing DDP as we have calculated its not worth it without app and tip sooo....could you please recommend your favourite eateries around orlando for breakfast, lunch and dinner, approximate cost and types of stuff they serve.

Thankyou
Kay

Kind of difficult for us because our son doesn't like dining out at all, however on my limited experience I can recommend Golden Corral and Ponderosa for buffet type food.
Good for breakfast, lunch and dinner - steaks/fries/mash potatoes/chicken wings/veg/fruit etc

We also like the Outback steakhouse, mainly because it is close to where we usually stay in a villa and you can 'take-out' which is something we like to do, and I can have a relaxing drink at the bar whilst waiting.

Bob Evans and IHOP are good for breakfast too and both makes things to order as well as off the menu.
Spoodles at Disney's Boardwalk we also liked for breakfast.

As I said though we don't really get the opportunity to dine out often, chik-fil-a and KFC are about our limit  mind you they are a cut above your normal 'fast food' - KFC is much better than in the UK.
Though I hope you get some feedback from people who dine out more than we do!

I like Bob Evans for breakfast and Logan's Roadhouse for dinner. Both are excellent value for money and huge portions.

Like many Orlando based restaurants Golden Corral is a 'chain' and has several in the area. Ponderosa, IHOP, Bob Evans etc are the same too.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Red Lobster, their coconut shrimp is soooooooo delicious! Red Lobster is about $30 a head for 3 courses if you have shrimp or crab claws, with lobster it would be a bit more but worth every penny!

Can't beat IHOP for breakfast, the pancakes are lovely. Arby's and Taco Bell are nice drive-thru places for fast food that's different. Arby's do roast beef sandwiches with a lovely sauce. Taco Bell is yummy cheap mexican food. We've never spent more than $15 at the fast food places for the both of us and that includes drinks and usually something sweet too.

Chili's and Applebee's are good too, nice variety of foods, kinda like TGI's. Main courses go from about $7-$15. Olive Garden is nice too and you can get take-away from them as well as Red Lobster.

Next trip i'd like to try Cracker Barrel, their menu looks interesting, lots of 'southern' dishes.

Orlando Ale House- Very cheap, large portions. Lots of locals eat and drink there. Its a sports bar, TV's everywhere you look. Always have specials like beer $1/pint, Alcopops 5 for $5 etc. Chicken Nahos are huge portion for $10-12 layered with chicken and cheese. 3 of us could not eat them all.

We eat at these 2 but there are others.

Texas Roadhouse. Only just opened last summer, about 15-20mins from Int drive and a toll each way but worth it. They have them in other parts of US but this is 1st around Disney. Dance routine every hour, free peanuts in shells(throw shells on floor, kids love that) great steaks and ribs.

We do tend to eat mainly in WDW as we've collected lots of favourites over the years.

However I love Red Lobster, and if you like Mexican - Chevy's is great, both are in the Crossroads just outside Disney!

I find that the Brits Guide to Orlando guidebook has good info on all the restaurants - it tells you the food they serve and rates how pricey they are as well :thumbsup2

Sweet Tomatos on I-Drive is an absolute must. Scrummy, filling, and healthy. Will keep you going after a hard days theme-parking. Absolute bargain as well.

Loved Bahama Breeze - also on I-Drive. I had a lovely seafood pasta thing - probably my favourite single dish of the whole holiday.

Buffalo Wild Wings - I-Drive, good if you like spicy chicken!

I can't recommend Ponderosa - easily our least favourite meal (dinner - can't comment on brekky) and we found there are much better quality buffet places such as Sizzler.

I-HOP - just great breakfasts.

I'm hungry now!

Bahama Breeze is on my list too:cheer2: Also like Cheescake factory & we normally go to TGI's as DD likes it there.

We also enjoy the Market Street Cafe & Cafe D'Antonio at Celebration.
There are plenty of good suggestions for you here - I have got Sweet Tomatoes on my 'to do' list for December:)

Breakkie - Golden Corrall, very good value for money and a huge choice.

Evening - Love Rain Forest Cafe
Plany Hollywood is great too

We also like Olive Garden

but for Chinese, all you can eat at Bill wongs Super \buffet is brilliant, but for easiness, we usually get the take away pizza's at the Hess garage at DTD and eat them in the car for an eveing, thats quick and cheap.

ST can be healthy if they don't have a delicious pudding on, last August they had Cherry cobbler and Last Easter and lemon crumble, delicious.

Hi ya,
We have firm favourites now in place after years of trial and error! LOL!

Italian- Olive Garden

Steak - Cheap but good - Black Angus Steak House

Best Steak you can get (IMO) - Shula's at the Dolphin

Chinese - PF Changs at Millenia (up until discovering Changs over in Long Beach we had no idea a ''UK Version'' chinese exsisted over there LOL. We now rate Changs as the best chinese in the world even over our fabulous local!)

We also go to TGI Fridays too but only if staying over a week seeing as we can go to TGI's here at home but in America it is SO much better!

For breakfast if we are not eating it on property we would go to Denny's.
