I will be taking my 14 year old son and nephew and my 11 year old niece to California with the first three days in Anaheim. I am attempting to be as budget conscious as possible, since I don't want to turn free airline tickets into a vacation extravaganza! :) It also isn't a family vacation since I am leaving most of my family and my DH home. Anyway, these boys like to eat and so does my niece. Any recommendations for good meals at a good value will definately be appreciated. They are WDW veterans so themed restaurants are of minimal importance. Thanks,

Rancho del Zocalo
Cafe Orleans
River Belle Terrace
Plaza Inn (huge dinner portions)
Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen - the take out section downstairs is affordable
The counter-service restaurant by the GC pool - what is the name, Whitewater Cafe? Good affordable burgers there
Taste Pilots Grill

Red Rockett's Pizza Port in Tomorrowland has the best counter service food at DL, in my opinion. Portions are big too!

Storyteller's Cafe at the Grand Californian is a moderately priced restaurant with good food and a nice atmosphere.

I vote for Denny's too! We usually don't like Denny's but the one across from DL is really good. The one where we live is horrible. Actually the food is usually fine but the service is really bad. We always eat at Denny's when we go to DL and we have always had great service and great food. It's about a 3-5 min walk from the entry gates of DL right across the street.

We all love eating at R del Z--you can get things ala carte even though the menu board doesn't list them that way. IE, if your friends are "galactic gobbler" fans (WDW turkey legs at MK tomorrowland) you can get them there.

If you have a car, we love Red Robin and Buca di Beppo which are about a mile or two away from the parks down on Harbor. Buca di Beppo is family-style italian food. Cheap prices and a TON of food. One or two entrees for your entire party would be enough. Red Robin is a chain restaurant with all you can eat french fries. Quite yummy!

There is a ( well I think it is still there) DelTaco fast food just down Katella toward Highway 5. It is kind of on its on in the corner of this GIANT parkinglot. I am supposing that it will be bulldozed someday so the lot can be used for something else.
