My plan is to get off the ship, try to see what I can of Atlantis, maybe hit the casino for awhile, see some of Nassau, then reboard, have lunch on the ship and spend the rest the afternoon there. What will I actually be able to do without paying a big exursion fee? Can you see the grounds at all, any part of the aquariums? If I had gotten positive responses about Nassau exursions, I would have sprung for some of these, but it seems most people think they are overpriced and not worth the money. What should be my strategy? I do want to get off the ship, since I've never been there.

You can certainly visit the casino without paying a cover charge, but I think that's about it.

When we went last fall we got to walk around part of the grounds and even part of the aquarium for free. It is beautiful! Don't miss it!

We went to Atlantis in January and had a great time. We played in the casino. ate lunch, shopped and looked around the resort. We did see some of the aqarium for free. We also has limited access outside. We spent about 5 hours there.

How do you get there? How much will it cost?

Once you disembark in Nassau, there will be a long line of "taxis" right at the pier. The fee is typically $4/person and the ride is shared with other passengers. It is about a 15 minute trip to the Atlantis.
