?? about reserving for 2003

I was thinking about reserving my room for August 2003 now. I know the 2003 rates are not out yet, but if I don't do it now and continue to pay on the room, something else always comes up and takes our savings :( and then we never get to go.

Anyway, if I reserve a room at AS, will it be at the $99 rate, plus 11% tax = $109.89? I realize that when the rates do come out for next year the rate will go up. I think I heard that they take other credit cards now, so could I reserve it with my Visa debit card and pay on it with that card?

You will be charged the rate for the time you check in, even though they cannot yet tell you what that will be. I have a reservation for January 2003 and got the confirmation in the mail yesterday. It says that the rate has not yet been set, and it mentions the current rate for 2002 to use as a guide only. You can't avoid a price increase by reserving early.

I'm not trying to avoid the price increase, I realize I will get charged the new rates when they come out.

What did they charge you for your January reservation, or did you pay anything at all? I'm just trying to figure this out.

I was charged 1 night's deposit, based on the current room price. I'm not sure if they will ask for a larger deposit once the new rates are announced.

This year 4/21-8/24 was "Regular" season and 8/25-10/2 was "Value" season. So depending on when you are going in August they will either charge this years Regular rate ($99 +tax) or this years Value rate ($77 +tax) and then adjust it accordingly when the rates go up. We booked in March 2001 for Feb. 2002. ~:)~
