We are under 1 week to go for our first trip to SSR. I cannot wait. We are bringing 16 family members total (from 3 countries, 2 US states) with us for the inaugural trip.
1 GV
1 2BR
1 1BR
-all flights are coordinated to arrive within a 4hr window.
-We all have DDP (and confirmed ADR's).
-The men are doing NASCAR.
-The women are doing Cirque.
-We will all do the Hoop de Doo Revue.
-Disney Magical Express tags are here.
-AP vouchers are here.
-We-go-shop order has been placed and confirmed (hoping Marge comes through-my first time using this service).
Quite a trick coordinating all the above.... I'll use a Travel Agent next time......yeesh....
On the negative side, DS7 broke his wrist last week. It is casted and he will not be able to try out the Pool slides (his favorite activity currently).
Oh well, he will just have to console himself w/all the Disney toys he will get.......
and most importantly, we also confirmed a "recover from this trip vacation" to OKW in early August......just DW and the kids on this one.....
Life is good. :thumbsup2

My goodness I'm tired just reading about all the work you did to prepare..have a wonderful time and make itinerarys for everyone before you get there so you don't have to answer a billion question about the daily routine!
PS Can I come?:goodvibes

Wow! That sounds exciting! Have a great trip :goodvibes
btw, check with your DS's ortho, there are cast covers that can be worn so that you can swim with a cast. We heard about them after my DD's cast came off :rolleyes1

Have a great time! You'll love SSR. Hope your son has a good time despite his injury. He'll be lovin' it in August. It's great when I see lots of family going. Right now, it's just DH and I. We are trying to persuade family and friends to come along but haven't gotten one to budge. Hope your vacation is magical for everyone! :yay:

What a large group! How long did it take you to plan such an elaborate trip for so many?? I think sharing DVC with friends & family is icing on the cake! Sounds like you will have wonderful memories of your first DVC trip.....hope your DS has a blast in spite of his cast :sad1: Let us know how everything goes! :goodvibes

Congrats to you hope you have a great time. As far as your son's wrist goes. Can you ask your doctor to put a fiberglass cast on? I had one when I was younger during the summer and after I got out of the pool just used a hair dryer to dry it off..

We started planning it around Thanksgiving. The itinerary is a great idea. I sent them all "The Spreadsheet" but could shrink them, print them and then laminate them.....of course, after doing all that, I should just go and put on my Captain Steubing uniform and wait at the SSR entrance......"Grover, grab their bags?" lol

Yeah, our Ortho office is clueless. They kept telling us.....there is no such thing as a waterproof cast or cover (until I showed them one on my Blackberry). I ordered one over the net. Hope it gets here in time.

Thanks.
We talk so much about WDW at home that our family either has to ignore us or invite themselves along...... There is no in-between...... Honestly, I am thinking a few family members will be taking the tour at SSR and who knows......
Especially once they see the way we snap up a small contract at AKV (ok, nobody tell DW, it's a surprise). ;)

We will be the large group yelling in 3 languages......(well, actually yelling in 2 languages, the European family members are quiet - but close talkers) :lmao: Beware (just joking, we will behave and are extremely approachable).

Thanks again. Honestly, it didn't long to plan initially. Then everyone started making changes.......uh, some of that is still going on.....(now it's rental cars.....I say we don't need one.......on and on it goes.)
I'll try to pop in from time to time w/some pics. I am really looking forward to the NASCAR thing. I will be able to cross that off my "Bucket List"...:cool1:

If worse comes to worse (& the cast cover doesn't work), we will do as you suggest. We can always get him a new cast when we get back home too.
Thanks for the responses all. My DS7 just came in my bedroom and said "I can't sleep, when do we leave for Disney?"
It's going to be a loooooong week.

I broke my wrist in 2006 and had a fiberglass cast--it was awesome--could shower with it and everything. Definitely get one for him.
