Discovery Cove in August

We are thinking of going to DC in August. Anyone been there at that time of year? Was it too hot to have a good time? How far in advance should we book it and canyou book it and change your mind?

I'm going to be there at the end of Aug. You can book now and change your mind. Just be mindful of the time frame as far as getting a full refund. After a certain amount of days your refund will get less and less.

Anyway here's their cancellation policy, from the website:

Canceling a reservation(Top)
* A full refund will be given if your visit is more than 30 days away.
* A 50% refund of your reservation total will be made if between 15 - 29 days of your visit.
* A 25% refund of your reservation total will be made if between 8 - 14 days of your visit.
* Because of the unique nature of Discovery Cove's reservations-only format, no refunds or cancellations can be made within 7 days of your visit.

Also you are allowed 1 date change for free. If you want to change again after that, I believe it's $50.

That is peak season here, so I would go ahead and book it if you want to sure to have it.
It will be very hot then, but you'll be in water for alot of the day.

Have done it in July - very hot, but the water in most of the pools (all except the resort pool) is quite cool. The air temps did not bother us.

We were there in Aug a few years ago and it was te best day of our whole vacation. It was great. I say go for it.

We went last year at the end of July. It was HOT, but the water felt great. We all had a wonderful time, the heat was not a problem. I can't say the same for Sea World, it was too hot to enjoy in July! I would go ahead and book it now, they fill up quickly for those peak times.
