We've traveled on DCL twice before and had inside staterooms for both. We have booked a Cat. 6 with regular not the Navigator's Veranda. Anyone know how these doors lock? I'm a bit concerened about my 31/2 year old having any chance at opening the door by himself. Any help would be great. Thanks!!!

Don't worry! There is a childproof lock (heck, it's hard for ADULTS to open!) at the top of the verandah. There is NO WAY a child can open that door with that lock locked. Just supervise your child on the verandah as you normally would and you'll be fine. :)

Michelle took the words right out of my mouth, I could barely get the door open! I seem to remember that you had to push the slider more closed to open the lock so it was NOT what a child would do. It was above eye level for me, a short woman.

I also wanted to add that we had a hard time opening the door to the Verandah. I guess it is also dummy proof. HA HA

We didn't realize there was a child lock at the top of the door - called guest services to have someone come up to help get our "stuck" door open. Five minutes later, red-faced and thankful for the quick service we were out on our veranda!

I'm 54. I get so frustrated with that lock. Haven't figured out how it works. Just keep twisting, turning, pulling, pushing, etc. until it locks or unlocks.
