In the form of junk mail. An application for the AARP. Just another reminder my 50th birthday is coming up this year. Very rude in my estimation.

My SIL and I have birthdays one day apart and we have already been warning family and friends that we plan on celebrating our 50th with all of them in WDW. Hope that you are planning something fun.

You will be able to join a very exclusive, powerful, legislative changing organization! I have been a member for 9 years now, and can't believe all the discounts I get from car insurance, home owners insurance, travel, internet service,.....

Every decade just gets better and better!!!

I feel the pain ;)

I was trying on a jacket in a shop today and my DD who is 8 told me I had to buy it as it made me look sooooo young :scared1: I did not feel old until then - I am only 37:scared1:

:rotfl: If it makes you feel any better - I was a member from 1979-1982.

Somehow my Grandmother found a loophole where she would get free pantyhose if she signed up her grandchildren. I have no idea how she got around the membership fees. I am pretty sure I was the only card carrying AARP member who was age 6!!! (I also inherited an unwrapped pair of the AARP hose when she passed away!):lmao:

Don't worry about we're only as old as we feel - and act. I guess that makes me about 12.

You're right. Let's face it, how old can any of us feel when we are at the Happiest Place on Earth, or planning on going there, or thinking about going there, or wishing we were going there, or being jealous of the others going there. Well, you get the picture.

I wonder if Dreams Unlimited gives AARP discounts, hhhhmmmmmm:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'd care. When I pay for a whole room, I want a whole room. ;)

Thank you for the birthday wishes. August 14th is the big day. There will be another trip this December as you can tell from my counter. But only if I don't go on strike. Fingers crossed for the next 5 months.

Hi Kim,

I'll be turning 50 this August as well. I took my first solo trip to WDW last August for my 49th birthday and will be returning this year for my 50th. I bought my first annual pass last year and stayed 5 days (on the birthday trip - later on the same pass I stayed 10 days in Dec./Jan. This year in celebration of the big day, I will be doing a 10 day solo trip (no way my hubby will go to Florida in August, but that doesn't stop me anymore). I will be doing the deluxe dining plan, going to the Luau and Hoop De Doo, and having dinner at the Castle. Hopefully, WDW will add Pirate and Princess Parties again for August and I will do one of those as well.

At this point, I'm thinking Will is in more need of pixiedust: than me. After all, I'm going to be qualified for all of those discounts. He needs to qualify for the Witness Protection Program.

If you think that's bad wait to your about 6 months from turning 65.

Watch out about AARP Ins. often not a very good deal if you shop around.

I joined at 21.

My parents have them as their motor club and when I got my license they gave it to me as a gag. Cracked up the cop who gave me a ticket after my accident a few years ago.
