We got our papers for our April cruise! Yippee!
For you pros, is it worth it to ask if a room upgrade is available when we get onboard? Has anyone actually been upped?
Thanks!

If you are willing to pay for the upgrade, it's certainly worth your time. We got a very nice upgrade for cash on our cruise at what I thought was a very reasonable price.

Would you be willing to share what you upgraded from/to and for about how much?

We were the first ones at the terminal last Sept 1 for a 1/2 full ship. We asked and it was about $800 for an upgrade to a veranda from a cat 10. A little steep for me so we declined but we were right next door to a couple who were almost late getting to the boat and they got an upgrade from an inside to an outside for free! They inquired at the same place I did! I guess it never hurts to ask- luck of the draw

We went from a cat 10 to a cat 5 for $800, then as they were processing the request, they discovered that all the cat 5's were booked, so they bumped us to a cat 4 for the same price.
It may have helped that I had a great big smile on my face along with my dimples and was very appreciative of what they were doing for us.
I may be wrong, but it seemed like the couple in front of us were trying to wangle a free upgrade for some reason, and they didn't seem to get anywhere.
