Deluxe Dining Plan--"Extra" Credits On Last Day?

Hi All!

Okay, here's the situation:

Myself, DW, DS7 and DS 2 are staying from June 5th thru 8th on Deluxe Plan, so 9 credits each for the three of us on the plan (3 days X 3 meals per day).

I've planned TS meals for all four days, some days more than one per day, and figure we will pay OOP for any CS we might want (can't imagine not being too stuffed from all the table service, though).

My problem is, for the last night, we would have 6 credits remaining AFTER our planned dinner at Yachtsman. Can we order extra entrees with these, or can I get Chateaubriand (which normally requires two people to use this as their entree selection on DDP) all for myself :cool1: ?

I guess what I'm asking is, basically, for someone to help me use all these credits! If we can't use them at YS, we had toyed with the idea of booking the Fantasmic package with the Brown Derby (but really would like to avoid this option as the menu isn't so much to DW's liking), which would still leave us with 1 credit each when we walk into the Yachtsman.

Any ideas from my friends here at the DIS?!?!

I would suggest using the DxDDP credits not committed to TS for any CS meals you may want. You will still save money as long as 50-55% or fewer of your credits are used on CS meals.

I've ordered extra meals to go at Kona Cafe before. It was no problem, they packed them in a nice clear plastic to go take out boxes. I would assume other restaurants would do that too. I didn't do it on the dining plan, but I think you could. The only restriction on the DDP might be that the server may have to run 2 checks, so all of the credits aren't run on the same transaction.

Why don't you just get the standard plan?

Maybe do a TS breakfast at someplace like Boma? Or maybe Si-Fi for a early lnch lunch this is only burgers and sandwiches?

You can also use some of the extra credits for your 2 year old if you are at a non-buffet meal.

where are you staying? maybe do roomservice on your departure morning? (2 TS per meal, but you can share)...

definitely use credits for the CS meals, even if you run short and end up paying OOP for DS7's dinner at yachtsman...

also, have you considered HDDR or another 2 credit meal/show? or, have you considered using credits on the day you check in/check out, unless you are arriving at midnight and leaving at 5am?

We had some CS credits left at the end of our vacation so I asked a nice older couple at the food court if they were on the dining plan. When they said no, I bought their lunch. They were thrilled!

We had 6 CS's left on our DP last June. We bought two families at the food court their meals at AP at SSR. When I posted this before, I was balked at from some folks saying that you can't share your plan. Its NOT sharing when you are standing there using your own card to make a purchase :) We were so happy to use those last CS's rather than let them go to waste...afterall...WE paid for them!:banana: (and these folks were so appreciative!)

We are staying for 2 nights, on the deluxe plan, we may not use a TS Credit, but we are getting the plan so it is paid for when we go, and we wont have to think about paying for meals.

If you'll have 6 credits left over, its probably best to just go with the regular DP. Otherwise, if you want your money's worth, you'll have to do:

Day 1: TS breakfast, TS lunch, TS dinner or TS bfst or lunch and signature dinner
Day 2: same as day 1
Day 3: Same as day 1
Day 4: What time do you leave? Can you fit in a TS breakfast or lunch and skip out on a previous meal from Day 1, 2 or 3 since you can use your credits until midnight?

You'll probably be stuffed all the time if you do 3 sit down meals per day so I would recommend doing the 1 TS for breakfast and a signature for dinner. There are lots of signature restaurants to choose from at the resorts and maybe if you don't mind eating late, you could do one of these after fantasmic? or just leave DHS around 3 for an early dinner at a resort and then head back there for fantasmic later on.

I don't know if they will let you use extra entrees in Yachstman so I would still make ADR's for other locations just in case.

The credits on the Deluxe plan can be used as TS or CS so there is no reason to pay OOP for the CS unless you run out of credits.
