Hi everyone -- I've really enjoyed seeing all of the pics of the CR. Our stay is the 3rd week of September & we're really excited -- I think me more than anyone! :)

My question is: does anyone have any pics of a handicapped accessible room? I have seen just a few on another thread -- but it didn't show a daybed in the room and had just a roll-in shower. We are supposed to have a MK view tower room with 2 queen beds, daybed & a "modified" accessible room (meaning a higher toilet in the bathroom & a bathtub with a full set of handrails throughout the bathroom). This is a multi-generational trip and we are a party of 5 adults + a toddler. My dad & MIL will both have scooters, too.

Sorry if these pics have already been posted -- i've looked through about 3/4 of this thread but haven't seen any like this. Any help would be VERY much appreciated! TIA!

Intercot says it will open on August 4th, however Allearsnet reports it opening in September.

I can see advantages of both and don't think we can go wrong.You can not request either view when staying on the Atrium Club floor, because effective on Janurary 1, 2009 you needed to select the specific view you want when staying up there. So the days of getting a Atrium Club reservation and them putting you in either view are over.

I may have asked before, but if i did I forgot!! Ha!!! So...we are in the Theme Park view and i think we were on the 8th floor last time (about 4or5 years ago)...should I request that floor again? I really want good views.... I am thinking that was pretty awesome, but for the life of me can't remember!!! Or, since it is a theme park view, just wait and see what we get? Oh, and did they update the laundry facility with the remodel? When we were there before only a few of the w & d actually worked and it took FOREVER for our stuff to dry. we are sooo excited..and we got FD yesterday, so that really sweetened the pot!!Thanks!!:flower3:

Thanks for the pictures!!!!! I just have a couple of questions about the bathroom layout and hallway. Is the toilet behind a different door across from the bathroom sink? Also, we usually hang up a shoe organizer bag for all our stuff....on the closet door in the hallway.These doors seem to have long handles that stick out...right? Where in the world are we gonna hang that bag!!!!!!???? I have really came to depend on it!!!

Yeah we were on the 6th floor. I was a little nervous at first but when we got up to the room and I stepped out on the balcony I was really impressed. I loved the view. I would stand out there in the morning and listen to my iPod and watch the monorails and look at the Magic Kingdom while my brother and our buddy were getting ready(I always showered first. I dont know why but thats how it broke down.)

thanks for posting your pix AxlRose330! I like the view from the 6th floor...I think it almost looks better from the lower floors than the upper. Is it my eyes playing tricks, or do you see less parking lot from the lower floors? Were you near Chef Mickey's?

No we were on the opposite side of Chef Mickeys. But the monorail did run right outside our room. I heard no outside noise(except the occasional people talking when they would walk by but it wasnt too disturbing.) I cant really say about the view from higher floors compared to the lower floors because I have never seen it from the higher floors(except in pictures). I think that all MK views are pretty amazing actually.

When it comes to the Magic Kingdom View my family and I have stayed as low as the 6th floor, which is the lowest floor you can get with that view and as high as the 14th floor. Personally we found no difference between either floor when it came to how the view looked.

For me it will be CONTEMPORARY TOWERS until maybe they build CONTEMPORARY TOWERS 11. BLT doesn't count as the monorail doesn't run through it. Thanks for all the pics. Coming back CT with MK view soon. sigh:cloud9:

I went through I think all of the pages and have a question. Does anyone happen to have pictures of the interior hallways of the Garden Wing buildings? Also , the entrances to those buildings?

Kind of a bizarre question, I know, I'm just curious what the look and feel to those areas is?

Finally getting around to sharing some of my stuff from around the resort. Scout's honor these aren't touched up. Besides resizing they're all captured as-is. Yay for Nikon! I'm actually terrible with cameras~

If you're a morning person, or rather, have the energy to get up, mornings on the CR beach are absolutely beautiful. I got up purposely early one day just to sit and watch the sun rise over the lake. They had just raked the sand and the wild turkeys were out in full force. The place was pretty much entirely mine.

I can't remember what day this was, but it was foggy, humid and miserable! Made for some interesting pictures though at least. You would never know the ferry was so close by as you can barely see it.

You will love the club level. It is so calm and peaceful, and the staff were wonderful. It is such a nice break from the parks.

I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. As for the water pageant, we could not hear it from the balcony. The only way we really experienced it was to see it as we were exiting the MK, or to go to the back of the hotel and watch it from there. We did that one night - enjoyed some time swimming in the pool, watched the water parade from the pool side and then went to the hot tub where we could even see bits of Wishes. It was a great way to spend the evening.

Sorry to jump in but wanted to address your question. I know I didn't take the original picture posted, but we actually stayed in that room last December! It is zoomed in. However, we have only ever stayed at the CR with a MK view. It is great! If you notice in the picture posted, there are cars and that is the parking lot in front of the hotel so while the parking lot is there below, MK is in the distance. At Christmas, the CR has a HUGE tree decorated for Christmas in the same the area where the parking lot is. In all honesty, I never really think about the parking lot below with the MK view.

Some people do say that, but honestly for us, you had to look down to see the parking lot. My eyes naturally look straight out to which I saw the MK. I was to busy looking at the fireworks and other stuff to focus on the parking lot.

Speaking of parking lots- I know we will be seeing them for our upcoming stay at the CR. We have a standard Garden wing room, so I accept that our view will not be great- it's OK, we are just excited to be staying in the CR for the first time.

I am wondering if anyone has any pics of the view from a standard garden room. I have seen plenty of garden view pics, and of course lots of lovely tower view pics, but I don't think I've ever seen any standard views. And I just wonder how much parking lot we will be seeing...or if there is some foliage blocking it just a little.

My son & I are staying in a Bay Lake View room in Dec for the first time. I love your desciption & photos. So, I see you stayed in the 11th floor, room # 4723. The 11th floor is the highest floor, correct for a Bay Lake View room, right? Also, you mentioned Room 4723 was quiet & it appears your view was amazing, so I believe I am going to request that room#, thank you !!!

Also, to get to the 15th floor observation deck, you have to have a California Grill dinner reservation, right?

Hello! Sorry I didn't respond sooner! I saw your PM and sent you a message back, but to answer your questions here... Yes, 11 is the highest floor if you're not staying club level. I think we actually got the room by requesting the highest floor possible and away from Chef Mickey's. If 4723 isn't available, there is one more room to the left of it on that floor which is 4724, and the one to the right is 4722. I think the next time we stay at the CR I'm going to request 4723, it really is the perfect room!

To answer your next question, yes, you must have a reservation at Cali Grill to get to use the 15th floor observation deck. That restaurant was AMAZING!

You and your son will LOVE the CR! It's so convenient, especially with the monorail right there and the resort being so compact compared to the others. It's restaurants are great, the views are amazing, the rooms are so modern and comfortable. You're making me want to go back! :rotfl: Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions!

I am thinking of trying to book the Garden Wing standard view for next year and was wondering how long the walk is to the main building for the monorail and restaurants? So I don't think there actually is a dresser, but I'm not 100% sure because DBF and I both lived out of suitcases while we were there :rotfl: Hope that helps!

Also, since we would be going in the summer, how long is the walk to MK? It is sure to be extremely hot so I just wanted to see if it is not too long. Thanks for any info!:)

The walk from the wing to the main building can't be more than three or four minutes. The walk to MK is about ten minutes.

This is going to sound like a very odd question, but if you get a MK view on the higher levels what side of the room are the beds? (if you're looking into the room from the hallway door) my Mother is very weird with details like that. Hahaa!

I asked for an odd-numbered room so that the bed faced the castle. We were on the 12th floor. So the beds are on the left as you enter the room. I suppose that in the even-numbered rooms the beds would be on the right as you enter the room. I don't know about that.

Some people do say that, but honestly for us, you had to look down to see the parking lot. My eyes naturally look straight out to which I saw the MK. I was to busy looking at the fireworks and other stuff to focus on the parking lot.


Very well said. When this comes up, as it does alot. I always look at it as the old "two types of people, glass half full, or half empty". The only time i see the parking lot is when i deliberatly look down to see it. But with the MK right there, the GF, poly, monorails, ferries, the fact your in the heart of Disney, why would you ever focus on tha parking lot? :goodvibes

Really enjoyed "old days" when lights on Mickey Ear photo-spot ou back of CR by dock had backlights that cycled through different colors. Now the are just one solid light.

Also since these pictures were taken the lounge has added a fridge where they keep their drinks and the location of the Cereal is also placed next to that fridge, so those are the differences since these pictures were taken.

Yes it opens up into a twin bed. I posted pictures in here earlier(I would re post them but they aren't on this computer). But the pictures can be found on page 37 post #545 of this thread. Hope this helps.

Aaaah! Thank you! OK, we stayed at CR back in 1998 and I remembered there being a place on the first floor where my friend and I spent A LOT of time (we were seniors in HS). I remember getting a frozen "Surge" and just hanging out there after a day in the park but I thought I was losing my mind because I hadn't seen or heard anything of it.
