Thanks! I'm glad you noticed my self-portrait :rotfl: Yes we completely lucked out. We had a king bed in our room and were actually in room 6115, the room that's marked as next to the ice machines and it's the first room you hit when you walk down the hallway toward the rooms by the water. It was quite a hike but well worth it for the view :)

I actually went down for one night, July 24-25 2008, to visit a very good friend :love: and the only thing they had available was MK view. So, I booked it. But when I arrived, they told me I was upgraded to a one-bedroom suite on the 14th floor, MK view! It was the size of three standard rooms. And it was weird cause you cannot look down onto the 4th floor atrium. I just never knew the 14th floor was hidden. But it was very cool. It had a foyer, 2 full bathrooms, living room, dining room, bar, full bedroom, and three huge balconies facing MK. It couldn't of been more perfect. But here are the photos...

Great pictures everyone. Can't wait to get there next year. We are doing a split stay 4 nights at Coronado and 4 nights at the Contemporary. Very excited, we have only stayed in POP one time and ASMovies once.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful pics, b/c they convinced my DH to book the CR!! :worship: We had to cancel our December trip and we were looking at rebooking for May. My DH had wanted to get a MK view room. He wanted the Poly, and I wanted the CR. After showing him the pictures from this thread he said that since we were going over Mother's Day and I wanted the CR, after looking at those pics he wanted to book the CR as well. I just got off the phone with Disney and was able to book a MK view room on the Atrium Club Level.:banana::woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: :banana: Can you tell I am excited? :lmao: It more than doubled my countdown, but to be able to get my dream room (that I never thought my DH would EVER let me book) is more than worth it. I can't wait to see more pictures to help the 249 days go quickly.

I'm a dork and like to see pics of food in the refrigerated cases and what is for sale on the shelf. Your pictures are very helpful. For our short trip it looks like I can buy whatever I need at the Contemporary. Your pics even show some prices of the drinks which helps the Type A planner in me. :) I also love the beautiful lounge pictures and the one where you guys are driving up to the Contemporary. I did not really understand the orientation of the new building until I saw that picture. I hope your family had a wonderful stay!

Thank you. This is by far the best Mother's Day present he has ever given me. When he told me that we had to cancel the December trip, he finally came out of the WDW closet and admited he loves going to WDW. Then he said we could add a trip in December of 2010 to WDW and check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal. I was suprised b/c when my sister in law asked for us to go on a Grand Gathering with DH's family he said after the Grand Gathering it would be 12 years until we go back. At the time he said that if they don't go in October 2009, we don't go. Now he's saying that he's going in October 2009, if they want to come along for the fun that's fine, if not we'll send postcards.:lmao: When I called him to let him know that we got the MK view room at the CR, he said that he was just so excited to be planning trips to WDW for May 2009, October 2009, and December 2010. I don't know who replaced my Disney hating DH with this Disney Stepford DH that I now have, but I would love to thank them.:lmao:

How come your room pictures look different? When we stayed at the Contemporary -we had a MK view (and so did you from the look of the pictures) but our room looked more like the pictures before only with 2 beds, just wondering because we are going back next year and would like the same type of room decor?

So they do not look like the fully renovated rooms on the other Tower floors and the South Garden Wing.

My wife and I stayed at the CR last year over Labor Day and the first week of September for our 10th anniv. We fell in love with the CR immediately so seeing these pics has brought back such incredibly wonderful memories. I'm not ashamed to admit I got a little weepy eyed a few times looking through them all.

An interesting side note, iirc in the picture that looks down the 8th floor corridor has a door to one of the rooms in the right side of the picture. If my memory is right, I think that was the door to our room! I remember that all we had to do was come out of the elevator, make a right and our room was straight ahead.

Dawn, I think there are pics out there that I have seen of Garden wing Garden View, I don't recall seeing any of the Wing Standard rooms anywhere though. It's funny--I know I stayed there when I was a kid and I remember staying at the Poly when I was a kid, but I have no memory of the rooms. I am one of 6 kids and when my parents took us to Disney, we had 3 rooms at every hotel we stayed at along the way also! I think the rates for Poly and Cr were about $79 a night ( at least that is what my mother recalls) The whole 2 week driving trip, where we stayed and saw many other sights along the way and 3 nights CR and 3 nights Poly cost a total of $2000 back in 1976 for the 8 of us. 2 of the kids were under 10. What I most remember is eating breakfast at crystal palace and riding Space Mountain. That had nothing to do with these pictures but it just came to my mind!:woohoo:

Mikki, WUV, KFJames, et al. -- I can't really show you photos of standard views from inside the the garden wing, but maybe these will help you visualize what your view will be like.

These are most of the standard/parking lot view rooms as I shot them from the monorail (thus the concrete rail running through the middle of my photo!). The blue awning covers the main entrance, which you'll see again in the photos below. Note that trees and shrubs block the view of the parking lot for most of the rooms:

These corner rooms are really cool. They're super large and they were called a junior suite when we stayed in one about 5 years ago. They've since been redecorated and I think they're called something else now.

I snapped these as we were running to catch a cab at the main entrance about 2 weeks ago, so sorry they aren't better composed. Most of the plantings seemed tropical. The only tree I could identify were two rows of magnolias (visible on the extreme right and left of the 3rd photo).

:lmao: There aren't many places at WDW where you can park so close to your room! Seriously, if those are the worst rooms CR has to offer, then you can't go wrong with the CR!! Yes, they were taken October 18.

We had to take a parking lot view at another Disney resort once (Boardwalk Villas) and thought "Ugh" -- but were very surprised at how little of the parking lot we could actually see through all the vegetation planted around our balcony. We were on the second or third floor. I'll bet it's the same at the CR.

Thank you to EVERYONE for all of your awesome pics of CR. We just last night upgraded to CR (MK Tower View Room) from POR for our trip in March. This is our first time staying here, but we are not CR newbies. Everytime we are in the World we always spend at least 1 day at CR eating, shopping, renting pontoon boat, etc.... This is by far my DH and both my DDs favorite resort and my DH wanted to upgrade because he has always wanted to stay there so he figured why not for our upcoming trip. My DDs have no clue about our trip to begin with and to add that we are going to be staying at CR will make them flip.

I know this has been asked before a couple of times, but how is the construction for the new DVC? Does the tower get in the way of the MK Tower view room? Plus when I called to do an upgrade they had mentioned that the pool is going to be renovated until late March (we will be there from March 24-31), and if it was still under renovation, we could go over to the Poly and use their pool....how does that work? Do we have to show our resort ID when we use that pool? And lastly what floor would you request to get the best view of the MK, or does it not matter? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to help make this the most magical experience for my DH and 2 DDs.

Let direct you to the regular CR thread... lately there have been lost of post about your questions. but let me throw in my 2 cents here. From what has been reported, BLT does not get in the way of any view. The construction really coming along. If the CR pool is still under construction, you can use the pool at the Poly. As also from what I heard for the view, the floor doesn't matter. The lowest you can be is the 6th floor and the highest is 11th.

Just wanted to share a cool version of the parasailing shot, edited by juliebee. I like how it makes the lines of CR/GF/Poly clearer. Also, the coloring is less dull and more vibrant.

Thanks for the compliments everyone, and I would definitely recommend parasailing if you don't mind heights. The flight only lasts for 8-12 minutes, but it'll feel like more than enough time in the air. The ascent (to a maximum height of 450-600 feet) is very quick and thrilling, and the rest of the journey is calmer but still exhilerating (a very similar feeling to Soarin'). Even if you don't bring a camera, the views are incredible.

The only way to take this shot is strap on a parachute, tow by a boat doing about 20 knots with a 650 feet long rope. I am probably about 500 feet in the air when I took the shot. I even have some video files too.

My family and I will be staying in a garden wind, standard view room in march...does anyone have pics of the view from one of these rooms? I am just curious...we've never stayed at the CR before and I am not sure exactly which portion of the wing the standard view room are located in...

Reserve a garden wing room and ask for pool view. I don't know whether that would be considered the garden view or a water view, but it won't be the cheapest room in the garden wing. The cheapest would be the standard room and you might end up with a parking lot view. You could take the chance of being upgraded, though.

Here's a link to the Allears page with the CR rates for 2009. They don't mention the water view rooms, so maybe that's not a category anymore. The best way is to check with CRO. Good luck!

Probably the best sources of information are Trey (stuck in customs) and Photomatix. HDR is not difficult, the Rebel has an AEB function that automagically takes the three images in sequence. A tripod and remote shutter release help a lot. I usually use P mode on the Rebel but for HDR the Av mode is best to avoid changing the aperture between images (which would change depth of field). Most of the time I set it to f/8 and fire away! :)

Once we have the three images (preferably in RAW) the HDR software combines them and we can move some sliders to get the effect we want.

Whew, it has taken me several days to get all the way through this thread, but man oh man was it worth it!!!
We are staying in BLT this december for 7 nights. We had some folks bail out on us, lowering our numbers, and we were thinking of switching to a cheaper hotel since we no longer needed the 2BR space, but in going through this thread, I am really thinking that we NEED to stay right here!!!

I am loving all of these pictures. We were suppose to stay at CR when we were there in March, however our dates were changed and unfortunately there was no rooms available so we ended up staying at WL....which by the way is really beautiful too. Well, we are planning another trip in Sept 2010 and everyone agreed that we are going to stay at CR MK Tower View room no matter what :cool1:. As far as we know it is not complete yet. I think there were some recent pictures a couple pages from the end in the CR FAQ thread

Hello everybody! I posted last year--we were doing a Theme Park view in Oct.Well, we cancelled that trip and did Poly in Jan. SO..... I am now planning our Dec trip and we are looking at the CR again---questions I have before we decide. Are the bthrm sinks and the whole bathroom behind the door? We stay at the BC a lot and the sinks are not closed off. Dh gets up very early in the a.m. and doesn't want to wake us up when he gets ready to go down and get coffee.
Question #2---looks like in the pictures that they took out the dresser drawers that used to be under the tvs. Where do you store your clothes now? I don't like digging all our stuff outta the suitcase every time. I put them in the drawers and put the suit cases in the corner. Any info will be much appreciated!!!!!

The two bathroom sinks are behind the door along with the bath tub. Also the toilet is behind another door inside the bathroom.

Finally the dresser drawers are now beside the bed next to the glass table.

Here's some we took in 2007. The sinks in the bathroom are awful. Who thought flat sinks were functional. :confused3

I love the shaped trees. Are they still shaped like that/
I remember years back they had the trees shaped at the CR a particular way, but seems like when I was there last year, they had ripped them all out and replanted with reuglar. Am I remembering correctly?:confused3

Why oh why would they change out those Dr. Suess trees? We loved those!!!!

I can't answer for others but for us there was no problem with splashing and we didn't have any kids with us...but I think the biggest complaint is that there is no counter top space to put your things....we used one sink to sit our stuff on and the other sink for brushing teeth, etc

As for the sinks my family and I found nothing wrong with them, however sometimes they take a while for the water to drain.

Hey, CR Resort Fan, we are going to be at WDW at the same time! We also have Atrium Club Level and will be there from Aug 16th - Aug 22. I'm hoping all the construction will be finished by the time we get there. I think it will be with BLT opening at the begining of August. I just can't wait!!

GREAT SITE!!!Maybe I will see you in the lounge and Bay Lake Tower is opening August 4th. So hopefully by then the pool construction will also be finished, because that means all the renovations going back to 2006 that started with the room renovations will be 100% complete.

Hey, my son (age 12) is going to be sleeping on the pull out coach. Did you use it during your vaca and how comfortable was it? Not that it really matters because he doesn't want to sleep with his 13 yr old sister and he will be exhasted from fun all day, but I just wanted to know.

I really would like to see how the renovation of the pool area is coming along. I am now less than a month away and I am really hoping they have it done by the time we get there. The last pictures I saw were a few weeks back.

I took my little princess to a community pool today with a kids play area and a zero entry pool (now I understand why people really like them, especially with little kids). A pool along is not going to be enough for my little princess princess: she is really going to need the kids play area to keep her entertained in the afternoons, especially if the playground is not open yet (oh how I hope they finish that ahead of schedule).
