This weekend I started working on our Fish Extender. I just have a couple of finishing touches. I must say that it turned out pretty good for someone who used hemming tape and fabric glue!:rotfl:

I don' know how many will have them but I am getting one off ebay. We have little toys to put in them so far. If you have one we'll be looking for you.

We are going down on the 25th and staying 2 days at the contemporary before the cruise and then coming back and staying at the animal kingdom lodge. We are going to attend the pirate and princess party on the 2nd of May. Anyone else staying at WDW or going to the P&P party? Also, what excursions are you guys doing? Anyone doing the atlantis aquaventure?

We got our packet yesterday too. We are doing the land and sea package. We will be staying 3 days at Port Orleans French Quarter before our cruise.
We have not booked any excursions. I was thinking about parasailing at CC but my fiancee thinks I am crazy because I have a fear of heights:rotfl:

Is anyone interested in a Fish Extender exchange?
I have been reading the FE threads and some are extremely extensive in detail. I am thinking something a lot easier.
Here is my idea - Make a list of participants with each person's DIS name and Cabin #. If they'd like to share the names of the people in their cabin that's great.
A suggestion on what type of gifts to give would be something that represents your hometown. You will only need to bring one gift per cabin for the entire cruise. A gift can consist of a few items.
I will keep everyone updated on how many DISers have contacted me so people can start planning how many items they need to bring. A week prior to sailing, the final list will be PM'd to everyone who's participating.
FE ideas - If you don't want to make a fish extender you could hang anything with a pocket (canvas bag, gift bag, etc.)
Let me know your thoughts.

We r taking our 2nd DCL cruise with u also. Traveling will be Me(mommy32),DH33,DS6 & DS4.....Can't wait....my kids have the countdown going everyday....little do they know we r coming down 2 days prior....staying at CountryInn right on the port to watch the boats come in and visiting KSC for the day Saturday. May do MK in Friday after arriving, depends on kids....Its chilly here in Jersey and Orlando is in 80's today....Sounds wonderful.
Started packing.....this trip seems easier then first...DO NOT OVERPACK....lugging around all that luggage and gathering it on departing day is miserable...
Got my documents today....SOON everyone. :dance3: :cheer2:

I have been reading about FE for awhile and never did attempt to make one but I ordered one from someone else and should get it in a couple of days. I would be interested in an exchange. I wasn't sure how many folks on the shorter cruise would actually have a fish extender

:thumbsup2 I think the fish extender exchange is a really neat thing. I think I would be interested. My DD (5) would probably love it!! I definately think simple is better. I have already been threatened by my DH for packing too much. Do people usually put their names on the gifts, or are they just anonymous?

That's alot of extra stuff-- but the good thing is now you'll have lots of extra space when you use the diapers and food.
Hopefully my list won't be too long (only one still in diapers and she's starting to train)-- yippee), we were on the Wonder 3 day in November-- so I hope we know what to expect--- I think??? LOL:rotfl:
I signed my DS6 and myself up for the Stingray Swim on Castaway Cay-- I just hope the water warms up in the next 3 weeks--- wishful thinking.
I think the Fish Extender idea sounds good too!

It is definitely not as fancy as a lot of them that I have seen but I think it turned out ok. I started putting it together with just fabric glue and hemming tape. I did borrow a sewing machine to make sure that the pockets stayed attached. The logo on the top is printed on printable fabric and then ironed on.

We watched a cruising dos and don'ts on the Travel Channel last pm and I was so excited, I wanted to take off right then and just stay at the port until time to leave!! Most DISboard meet and greets are on Deck 10 (above the Goofy pool) on starboard side before the Sailaway party. We usually made it right after the manatory muster drill. The Sailaway party starts at 4:30, so why don't you make the meet and greet at 4:15?

It's kind of caotic at sailaway. In the past I have attended a meet at the Promedade Lounge about 3:30 gives time before boat drill. If we do meet at sail away I would say deck 10 aft then move together to the party. We could meet after the boat drill.

Nascar8820 just linked me to this thread, we're sailing with you guys as well and would love to meet up! On my previous thread, a couple of other people posted and I'm really looking forward to meeting with them, I can't wait to tell them about this bigger meet up! I'm going to put my little miss monkey to bed first and come back to read through the pages to catch up.
It'll be me (Queenie), DH (Dominick) & DD (2 y.o. Madison), along with my parents & sister and her DBF but I doubt they'll want to hang around us most of the time...so it'll just be the 3 of us meeting you guys. Looking forward to it! :grouphug:

Ok, I just finished reading all the posts. In my previous thread, MinnyGranny62 & I were meeting up right after the drill in the atrium and going up to the sail away party together. I'm sure she would be thrilled to join us in the meet!

FYI everyone- a coworker just came back from wdw and said mk was 99 degrees one day. Pack that sunblock and aloe. :)

LOL, I hear you on that...we're coming from NJ as well, but I can pick up our exchange gifts (if it's not too late for us to join) from NYC since you have NJ covered.
Ok, I just finished reading all the posts. In my previous thread, MinnyGranny62 & I were meeting up right after the drill in the atrium and going up to the sail away party together. I'm sure she would be thrilled to join us in the meet!
I see many of you guys are staying in WDW before, anyone staying in WDW after the cruise?
We are staying at FWC until 5/3...

Nascar2088 is keeping the fish exterder list. I think we should plan on meeting in the Promedade on Deck Three at 3:30 that way we can meet and decide on possible other things to do, like maybe a group picture. After that it gets kind of crazy with the drill then returning to the life vest to the room. We usually just make it to the sail away party. I don't know about you guys but I'm getting real excited, all packed and ready to go just have to count the days. At least we get a little Disney before we fly in Friday night arriving midnight and are spending Saturday with my Cast member son at the parks. He's excited this is his first Disney cruise. Just keep counting, Just keep counting ..........:yay:

We're super excited too. We made a countdown calendar to "Mickey's Boat" and we've been marking "X's" on it each morning, so we're counting down the days!
During our last cruise, we joined a DIS meet up as well (we were the 'Dancing Banana Heads or something, the name slips my mind right now...) and everyone sent the organizer a family photo and she sent it with the meet up email so we knew who we would look for when we board. DH thought I was a complete weirdo when all these strangers came up to me and said "Hey are you Queenie?!" and we'd say hello and chat before we got to the actual meet up. Do you guys want to post a photo so we can be on the look out for each other? :confused3 BTW, I'm REALLY shy, so if I don't jump up & down and scream & yell when I meet you, please know that I am genuinely excited, I'm just REALLY REALLY SHY! :flower3:

It is included, just like on the ship-- bbq, soft drinks, fresh fruit and frozen yogurt. Alcoholic drinks and beach rentals cost extra.

Still searching for gifts. Can not seem to find anything that represents NJ. Finishing the packing. Trying not to over pack. Anyone know if we can store luggage under the bed? Can't remember.......
For everyone staying at Country Inn.....first shuttle to port is at 10:30 no sooner. May have my hubby drop me off with bags and a child to check in and let him go back to hotel to park and ride shuttle. Will he be able to come check in after us? What will he need to show if I have cruise documents? Help anyone. :dance3:

I'm not sure if DCL will let you him in without him being there, if you have all the documents and passports, I don't see why they wouldn't let you check everyone in. But if they don't, he just has to go through security, head upstairs and meet you in the terminal (it's almost like an airport waiting area with comfy chairs, tvs, and even a few characters stop by to say "cheese!". He can just get online to check himself in with his passport and documents. But don't get on the ship without him! You guys need to take your family portrait on the gangway...:goodvibes HTH.

Since this is our first trip to Nassau we are going to walk thru the Straw Market then head over to the Pirates Museum. We have read many bad post about Nassau but figured we need to experience for ourselves. If we don't like it then we know not to go ashore the next time. (We haven't even had our first cruise and I am already talking about the next one:laughing: ) Then we are going to take a taxi over to Atlantis to check it out.

I am praying also. My CM DS and DGS Andrew have never been. Hopefully all will go well and we will have an easy time docking. We leave Friday night, arriving in orlando at midnight. See you Sunday.

We leave at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!! (I'm worse than a kid at Christmas) I'm sure I won't get any sleep tonight. If I do fall asleep I will probably wake up every hour and look at the clock just to see if it is time to get up yet. See everyone on Sunday. :cool1: :cheer2:

I think I might be the last to leave, we're leaving Sunday morning for our 6:40AM flight. I definitely will not be sleeping on Saturday, I'll probably be doing the last minute packing and trying to stay up so we don't oversleep. :surfweb:
We'll see everyone on Sunday! :cool1:

:dance3: We are also leaving tomorrow morning and driving to Fl. After the cruise we will be going to WDW for 6 days, we will be celebrating our 46th anniversary. Ordered a basket from Perfect Gift for DH to be on the ship when we arrive. He will surely be suprised.
I love the door signs...I am just not too talented to make one up. And the gift idea sounds like great fun.
Can't wait to meet all of you cruisers. Shirley:grouphug:

Great sign! I found some magnet board at Walmart in the photo section. I just had to peel off the backing and affixed my door signs. It came in 8 1/2 x 11 size and then you can cut as needed. If you can't find what you are looking for at Michaels - check Walmart.
Have a safe trip everyone.

They are cute, I love them. A fine gentleman named TOM (ImTooExcitedToSleep) on another thread sent them to me and I just Photoshop'ed the colors. He will use specific colors per your request, I told him what colors, which family member I wanted and he did them very quickly. But when I got them, I figured out how to change the colors around again, so I played with it a bit. Here's the link. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1523226&page=80
He also does great name tags, he made a few for us as well, they're really cute. This is the name tag:

They do have hair dryers but I've read here many times that they are not very good and it takes forever to dry your hair, people often suggest to bring your own. I have long thick hair, I'll make sure I bring my dryer... It's optional. :goodvibes

I know the hairdryers don't have that much power, but I have found they work enough for me not to lug mine from home. Depends how necessary a hairdryer is for your style, I supose. (or how big your home hairdryer is - mine is easily the size of two pairs of shoes)

We never use the hair dryer, but a lot of people bring their own from home with a power strip (so they can also plug in their other devices to charge) and blow dry their hair by the vanity so they have more room to move around or watch TV, etc.
