19" is better than nothing!

Absolutely! I'd forgotten how nice it is to see the local news at night before bed. And to watch my shows when the actually come on, rather than waiting until the next day to see them online! :happytv:

I didn't realise either. Is that why you and Tyler have been cleaning?;)

:rotfl: Well, no, not really. We don't actually watch much TV anyway. The cleaning is catching up from when I was feeling down for so long. :cool1:

Dad and stepmon seem to be after an 'easy' life with Tyler, but being 'soft' doesn't work in the long run.

EXACTLY. I told the Dr. today that all the issues they're having with him are ones I dealt with and overcame when he was 2 years old, except for the occasional outburst, which is normal for his age, and then I have to remind him who's in charge by enforcing the rules and we're fine. :cool1: Dad's just a softy, and admitted that today, so he's going to be working on that with the Dr.'s help.

When I was in the corporate world I travelled a lot for work and my collegues and I called US Air, Useless Air. We always had the worst customer service dealing with them. Good luck with your letter!! If the contract doesn't state price adjustments as an exclusion you should get a refund, it will be interesting to see how they weasel their way out of it!

We referred to them as US Scare.:scared1:

These are the numbers I got for the fish teams...

total # of people - 367 (note, this number is EVERYONE, those who'll have FE and those who won't. Detailed FE info is below)
total # of children under 18 - 112
total # of 18 and over - 255
total # of cabins - 141

I also have from that post

gift summaries:

yes FE, yes gifting group -67 cabins which is 115 adults and 69 kids

yes FE, no gifting group - 8 cabins which is 32 adultis and 7 kids

That would make 75 cabins with FE's

I am so upset with DH right now. He lost his passport and he told the girl scout he didn't want any cookies. I love the cookies with coconut, chocolate, and caramel but couldn't find any girl scouts this year. He likes thin mints but Keebler makes the same thing so I bought him some of those. They are great and he agrees they taste the same, but he doesn't like coconut so didn't get me any. Oh well my mom got me the kind with peanut butter. :) Off to search for the passport some more, this is why I keep all the important information.:upsidedow

If you are looking at just FE (giving and not giving) that will be hanging from this DIS group, there are 92 FEs. Several cabins have several "families/singles" inside. I Think one of the cat 3 or 4's will have three individual ladies sailing, etc.

Go naked... except for Dinner... then wear shorts... Oh and pack quarters... I got some laundry detergent (small sizes) at Walmart in the travel section by the beauty and stuff aisles... I got the small All bottles because they do 2 loads each - make sure you pack them in zip lock bags so they don't leak!!!

Does your camera take AA batteries? If so I learned that not all AA batteries are the same and some cameras are quite persnickety about their batteries.

Apparently AA batteries are actually made at different lengths. Very minimal to the naked eye, but what happens is the contacts on the AA batteries do not necessarily always make contact with the leads in the camera. This then has the camera thinking the batteries are dead or dying (depending on the amount of contact) even though they might have been just brand new out of the package.

Also, if they are rechargeable batteries (like Nimh) they will tend to lose their charge as they sit in your spare pocket waiting to get used. And as they get older they tend to hold less and less of a charge.

I'm currently in the process of changing all of my rechargeable camera batteries over from Nimh to Lithium. Lithium are supposed to hold their charge better. Howver, you do have to worry about the new rules when flying in the US about Lithium batteries in your checked luggage.

I just bought a bunch of Sanyo Eneloops rechargeable batteries, which are supposed to be quite good. I haven't opened them yet as I am saving them for the cruise. Until then I am going to run down my Nimh rechargeables till there is basically nothing left of them.

On the rechargeable battery front I HIGHLY recommend Powerex. I had never heard of them until someone clued me into them, but they are AMAZING. I have never seen rechargeables that good. Plus the charger made for them has "intelligence" to "condition" the batteries so as to avoid memory.

I had to find them online, but if you read up on them, you'll see that they get phenomenal reviews.

If you are looking at a dSLR then I am going to recommend the Pentax K200D. It has weather sealing, takes AA, uses an SD card (which I am finding are cheaper than CF) and the big feature for me coming from a Canon S2 is that the Image stabilization is built into the camera - Nikon's and Canon's build it into the lenses which usually results in more expensive lenses.

Now if you are not looking quite at a dSLR I would highly recommend the Canon S5 that V just bought and has been providing us with some great pics. It is considered a "prosumer" camera because it is not quite the dSLR but does have some of the similar features as well as a great 12x optical zoom. It is also quite renowned for its video ability. I loved my S2 and if it hadn't had the problems I would probably be taking it with me on this trip.

As for my dSLR (the pentax mentioned above) - I'm still learning how to operate it and hopefully will get some of the basics down in time for the ship so that it isn't much more than just an expensive P&S.

I'm really enjoying my new Nikon D40. (really wanted the D40x or D80 but didn't have the $). Now I just want the 18-200 lens.

The D80 was my first choice before I got pointed in the Pentax direction. But coming from the Canon S2, the Pentax K200D just seemed like the perfect fit.

I picked up an 18-250 lens for it as my walk-around lens and is it ever fun with the basically 14x zoom you get with it! Should be fun for the trip!

Traditional Turkish Delight is a soft jelly like candy(see i'm becoming assimilated into USspeak), very very sweet. It is covered in icing sugar. I imagine that is what was given by the witch. The Turkish Delight I love is covered in a thick chocolate and doesn't seem as swet. It is delidh!!!

I posted a while back about our Cafepress order but didn't see any responses.

Can I just ask - if you've ordered anything from Cafepress, was the spelling correct on the logo? I thought I'd seen that it had been corrected (as shown on the Ship of Thieves website), but ours wasn't. If we're all wearing badly spelled t-shirts, then fine. But I want to check in case it's an error by Cafepress.

OH MY GOSH! I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE.....SHIP OF "THEIVES"! I guess I'll call them tomorrow! We didn't even look at them, just hung them up in the closet! How funny! How many others are out there?

So are you diving this trip? WE are......

Note to self - pack bathing suits...

No, I thought about it but decided not. I considered Aruba, but I've been to Bonaire twice and figured it'd be about the same. And I've been to La Paz twice before (which I really liked) but I think the water's going to be cold this time of year...blah, blah, blah. Do I sound whiny? ;) I just decided to keep it simple and not try to fit diving in with everything else.

Do your laundry on the 3rd or 4th day because the 7th day is a zoo and you can't get in until the 10th day. Do laundry on port days, although many others have figured this out too. We do laundry at 2am, it works well for us.

With regards to Lithium batteries I found this on the USA Today site:

The Department of Transportation has reissued its message — which apparently got lost in translation the first time around — regarding new restrictions on how batteries can be carried on airliners.

As of Jan. 1, travelers can no longer pack loose batteries (i.e. those not installed in electronic devices) in checked bags. However, unlimited loose batteries are allowed in carry-on bags, though the agency "strongly recommends" separating them in individual zippered bags or compartments if they aren't in their original packaging.

One exception: Passengers toting lithium batteries that have 8 to 25 grams of equivalent lithium content are limited to two uninstalled batteries in each carry-on. Most consumer electronic goods such as laptops, digital cameras and cellphones use batteries that fall far short of that content. The rule was implemented to reduce the risk of lithium battery fires.

Link is here:USA Today article (http://www.usatoday.com/travel/flights/2008-01-11-lithium-batteries_N.htm)

I found this on the site SafeTravel.dot.gov/index.html :

DOT’s rule on lithium batteries in air travel, which took effect on January 1, 2008, prohibits carriage of spare lithium batteries in checked baggage, such as large suitcases you hand over to the airline for handling. If you put a portable electronic device in checked baggage, you may still do so with the batteries installed in the device.

In carry-on baggage, you may still carry any number of some types of lithium batteries, such as the ones used in cell phones and most laptop computers, provided you take measures to protect terminals. You may also carry up to two more powerful batteries, within the limits described here. (http://safetravel.dot.gov/whats_new_batteries.html)

Here (http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/ash/ash_programs/hazmat/aircarrier_info/media/airline_passengers_and_batteries.pdf) is a link to a PDF file that covers the battery question on the FAA site.

Just realized my Eneloops are Nimh so I have no worries. If I bring any Lithium I'll just put them into the cameras and use the Nimh as the backups.

No one ate out much in those days--keep in mind I am 59 so this happened in the mid 1960s. Mom's cooked dinners and Dad's cooked burgers on a grill.

Good news on Molly's school work. Her teacher tells me that she has to turn in something, she the teacher, has to turn in to the district. And that she has stuff for that already (read between the lines here). I told her about the power point idea and she thought that was great. The one thing Molly will have to work on is a paper/presentation on I think Colonial Times. More details to come on that and I suspect that Molly will be working on this prior to travel, rather than during travel. Fingers crossed.

Her band teacher also said that she can make up her missed performance (date being decided now for time frame while we are gone) by doing another one somewhere else. I figure she might have to offer a solo concert, maybe at Grandma's retirement home???

Lastly, she got a part in the school play, Grease. Not a great part, but considering we are gone during the whole last 2 weeks she is very lucky. Turns out they had a big audition and not everyone got parts. The performance dates are the week we return 5/28-30. She will miss all of dress rehersal and we will miss all the parent work to set the set.

Now I'm feeling a bit guilty :guilty: about spending the extra day at Dland. Not sure what we will do about this. I might suggest that Paul and she fly right home, we'll see. I'm staying and so will Wilson. But Molly might find it important to come home, I just don't know????:confused3

Another update to everyone on my DD's "loose tooth" and the scooter board incident.

Things seem to be healing quite well and we can already notice a positive move with the tooth. So things are looking good.

My DD did get her report card and there was one thing that both my wife and I laughed out loud about when we read it.

The report card for Grade One is done using the 1-4 Progress Levels scale with 4=Exceeds Expectations, 3=Meets Expectations, 2=Minimally meets Expectations and 1=Not Yet Meeting Expectations.

Under Physical Education there is one part that reads:
"Demonstrates appropriate skills when working with the scooter boards and skipping ropes" She was given a 4!!! LOL!!

If you really think she misunderstood and it was a language barrier, do you think it was fair to her to call her and up and be livid with her. These are the risks you take when planning a surprise vacation. Just my opinion.

Hmmm...not sure if you know the history with this. It isn't a surprise vacation, it is an Easter gift that we were giving the children next Sunday. I don't think I was taking on any risk in preparing a gift. The other point, which you couldn't have known, is this is an ongoing personnel issue with our nanny. She is great in many ways however sometimes when she doesn't understand something, she doesn't seek clarification. That is why I was livid - I was upset she didn't ask for clarificaqtion. As far as calling her... I had to call her up because I wasn't going to see her in the morning and I needed her to stop talking to the children about it. Not sure why calling would be unfair? :confused3 More a question of necessity.

From Lisanne's spreadsheet, those seem to be the two cabins with mulitply families. Mine has two and justmestace's has the five, so five extra "families", makes 80 in my thought process.

thanks for the link. I checked it out and looked at google and can't find the specific path or time it will be in SF. I'd like to see it run by. If you see more info please post.:thumbsup2

I know nothing of the actual route but if you look on this page (http://torchrelay.beijing2008.cn/en/journey/) it says San Francisco is April 9th.

Ian, You know how mom was always worried about having on clean undies in case you were in an accident. Well as a nurse I can tell you it the first thing we check. ;)

I received my Real Simple Travel Mag and they recommended a Canon Powershot SD950 or a Sony Syber-shot DSC-T70.

For Tech lovers and Olympus E-410

I have a Sony Cyber shot and I love it. The upgrades from the DSC-T70 are the DSC-T200 and the T300. Both are great and I love my Sony. Very easy to use and great pictures.

No offense, but chocolate covered sounds...not that good to me.

Not sure if it is similar or not. turkish Delight is very soft and very sweet, traditionally rose scented, and with nothing like nuts etc in it. Really the chocolate covered version is completely different.

1. Thank you to everyone for responding to my laundry question and for taking such a great interest in my underwear. Not since my mother, has any one shown such a great interest in the state of my undies.

2. I am thinking of buying Sukie a higher end digital camera. Not something compact. Any recommendations for a sub-pro camera?

.

Ian, I am sorry for not reply back to you as I was working from 2 to 10 pm:headache:

Ian, many of us love the Canons, and several of us have a S3 si or the S5 si models. I have a feeling you are going to be looking at the Rebels in Canon or the D series in Nikon level.

Pj

I am looking for a new camera, I lost my good camera:sad2: which I bought it from Australia and another one was broken. I am looking for flat camera which easy for me to carry everywhere. I need to buy it soon. Any good camera?

I'm loving the Nikon D40x I got at Thanksgiving. mmm :thumbsup2

One kid down, one to go :woohoo:

That is good.

Please don't feel guilty about Dland. Cannot help it. Always something is it.

My son actived two Accelerated Reader Award and Pupil of the Week last Friday for (contributing sensibly to class discussions and coming up with some great ideas. Well Done, keith! Keep it up!)

Keith was two years behind, now he is catching it up now but still poor with writing but I feel proud of him.

I picked up a used Canon Rebel X...for a very decent price. It is not the newest model, but it can take all the current lenses available. I absolutely love it. Especially with the card I picked up ...it allows me to take over 1000 pictures at the highest resolution. It also has an adapter that allows me to switch between rechargeable and regular batteries

I am trying to figure out if I should bring my laptop along with us. Hopefully I will not be doing any work on the trip as I should be getting an extension on my current contract to take me past when we come back from the trip. I was planning on using it to store and edit the many pictures I'll be taking, as well as using it as a DVD player for Liam's favourite TV show - Corner Gas. :happytv:

Anyone else bringing one along?

We picked up another couple of inches of snow last night....there are some streets downtown which used to be three lanes and now with the snowbanks they are barely one..ahhhhh, how many days till our trip?

Liam says that he will not get 'excited' until we get into May....( he said the same thing at 99 and 75 days )...I think he is just trying to maintain an even keel as he sees how obsessed I have been about it....Nancy just lets me plan away...keeps me out of her hair...:worship:

Just looking at this on Amazon. No reviews there, but I do see that the Pentax takes standard Pentax lenses. That seems different from others, where the lenses for the digital lines are not the same as the film lines.

I bought myself a new camera back this past May. I had had a Sony that I bought about 5 years ago. It's a great camera except for the latency of the flash. I counted 13 seconds between being able to take flash pictures.

Flash latency was a big deal for me. When I went shopping I looked at Canon and Sony cameras. Then completely out of left field, I bought a Fuji. It was so responsive. The pictures are really quite amazing. I am satisfied and so surprised with it, because Fuji had been nowhere on my radar. It also uses SD cards, and AA batteries (how I found out about Powerex batteries).

For this purchase I'm thinking of possibly going a bit higher end. Still not sure what this gift will be.

Ian,

We have an old Fuji finepix digital point and shoot camera (probably 6-8 years old now) and I have always been amazed at the quality of the pictures it takes. The flash latency is hard to take...i agree

I picked up a flash for my rebel (once again a used one) and wow...what did I ever do before...almost instant recharge and a much greater range

When I was looking for a dslr camera (we are huge Canon fans - Tlb, A-1, T-70 and T-90 slrs) so we have quite a collection of 'standard' lenses. Some of the 'helpful' clerks in various stores said that the newest Canon digital cameras could use the older lenses...but that is not the case....very different lense mounts ( and I never thought I would say it, but I like the auto-focus feature )

Oh my - this is so true. One dive drip DH says don't worry he has plenty of bateries. My camera went dead and his batteries would not fit - they were rechargable. We had to rushh to the store and buy $$$$ batteries.

Has anyone heard thatt he airlines will not let you pack (even in luggage) some types of bateries - Lythium (sp?) I think.

chip&dale&fun
03-14-2008, 06:13 AM
There is some new FAA ruling because lithium batteries can explode (no kidding).

Effective January 1, 2008, the Department of Transportation (DOT) through the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) will no longer allow loose lithium batteries in checked baggage.

Is everyone aware of the new Dept. of Transportation rule that went into affect on Jan 1, 2008 regarding lithium batteries:

"In carry-on luggage, any batteries actually installed in electronic devices (cameras, laptops, etc.) are allowed, but only two more rechareable lithium-ion batteries are allowed as spares and they must be packaged in a plastic bag or the original retail packaging.

"In checked luggage, lithium-ion batteries are allowed only when istalled in an electronic device. No spares are allowed."

And I've been to La Paz twice before (which I really liked) but I think the water's going to be cold this time of year...blah, blah, blah. Do I sound whiny? ;) I just decided to keep it simple and not try to fit diving in with everything else.

Are you guys diving at each port?

We are dving at all ports but Cabo - we are doing the zip line there. Never been to any of these ports...

I am a bit worried about the water temp in the pacific - We both are taking our custome suits - good 3 mils - but not sure if we need the vests as well.

We were told water temps were 65-70 - called the dive shops and they said 80s ????????

Presently I am in denial. If it is 65-70 - I am cold even in a longjohn combo with vest - my last dive 2 weeks ago - water temp was cold and I could not stop shivering...

Actually, you will be part of the group that first ordered, they have the "orginal shirts" it is a special status, or so they have told us, :). I will do mine as a custom order since I want a big big girl shirt, and will pull a graphic from the website.

Hopefully someone who has ordered in the last couple of months will have an answer on what happened with their order.

Pj

I thought it had been sorted after the first mispelt lot.:confused3

Thank you for all the replies. I should have checked with people on the thread before I placed my order.

The cost of shipping and then customs charges is too high for me to re-order (in fact, it just about doubled the cost  ). So DH and I (and our travelling companion, Gordon) will just have to be badly-spelled thieves! I'm sure we'll be in good company. :)

Spelling aside though, I would advise anyone thinking of ordering the baseball cap not to bother. The cap itself is nice, DH really likes it, but the logo just hasn't printed well - possibly because it is printed right over the seam at the front of the cap.

Happy Friday!

Well we had a bit of a fiasco last night....I was sitting on the couch minding my own business when fireworks went off, well, ok it was the transfusion or whatever box outside up the electric pole....well, half the house went black as did our neighbors, but the other ligths worked. If you turned the oven on the black lights would be on but very very dim, the higher the temp, the more power to the light.

So John is at softball, I report it to FPL and seems a squirrel got fried and they had to put a new thing up the pole. but then to do that our power went out completely for about 15-20 minutes! What a night!!

I am so glad it's the weekend.

Oh hi honey, Next time buy me my cookies.:rotfl2: (he is reading the Dis upstairs).

Don't worry, you'll get him better trained. It just takes a little time.
We'll celebrate 22 years during the cruise, and my DH is still learning! :lmao:

Saying that, as a surprise while we were at WL the other week he ordered me the tiara from Disney Florist. :lovestruc So perhaps he is almost ready to graduate. :)

Morning all,
I am trying to figure out if I should bring my laptop along with us.

I am planning on bringing mine along. Mainly for what you said - a place to store my pics. I do have to keep in touch with the office while I am at WDW and DL as well, but not on the cruise. Otherwise I might have just tried picking up a smaller backup device if it was just for the pics.

Just looking at this on Amazon. No reviews there, but I do see that the Pentax takes standard Pentax lenses. That seems different from others, where the lenses for the digital lines are not the same as the film lines.

Yes, apparently ALL Pentax lenses fit ALL models of their cameras. Just some won't be able to use all of their features. Which makes sense for the older lenses on newer bodies. I'm in the process of trying to learn what all the different "codes" mean on all the different Pentax Lenses to see what I can shop on Ebay for. I saw some pretty cheap lenses on there, but just not sure if they are fully manual lenses for my camera or what. LOTS and LOTS of reading to do still!

The K200D JUST came out. In fact, it is hardly in any stores as of yet. Australia seems to have been the first place to get it. My store got it on Saturday and I bought it on Tuesday.

Hi Monica,

In the state we lived in, you have to apply for a permit to the NatR department. It is no big deal and was very cheap and easy to do. My parents were coming for a visit and I wanted a pet roo to show them. Well, um, a friend was hunting and brought him back for me (shall say no more about that).
I fed him every 4 hours like a baby with special milk powder mixed in a bottle. When I would let him out to stretch or "use the facilities", to get back in his pouch, he would do a back-flip in it and wiggle his head back up to the top so he could peek out.
I had to give him to a neighbor later, as we traveled quite a bit and couldn't find reliable babysitters! Later, I heard he died :guilty:

Things are good here, getting so excited about the trip! How are things in yoru neck of the woods?

I'm with you - I hate my laptop bag. I was thinking of getting something like the Lowepro Computrekker bag that supposedly will fit my camera gear AND the latptop - but just not sure if I am wanting to buy yet another bag and then worried that in the parks the bag will be too big for just my camera gear. I have a Lowepro Slingshot 100AW for the camera gear and it seems to fit my needs perfectly. I can put my dSLR in it, my video camera sits in one pouch inside and my underwater camera fits in another plus lots of room for batteries and the like. It is all snug but works. The Computrekker, take the laptop out and I'm not so sure it isn't too big. Plus I like the idea of the slingshot for ease of putting the camera in and out for going on rides and such.

As for going through the airport. I'm not proud I'll grab one of those carts. It was an absolute must for us in 2006 at Seatac.

I need to get our well water tested today and then paint the laundry room. We are a little excited, a little nervous. The offer requires closing by April 14 and us to be out by the 19th. Lots of work to do that in a short time. Morning all,

Thought I would check in early from work. It's the last day of March break here in Ottawa and a Friday to boot, so an awful lot of people are taking the day off

I was planning on using it to store and edit the many pictures I'll be taking, as well as using it as a DVD player for Liam's favorite TV show - Corner Gas.

I always bring Mine along and now DEB brings hers too, banking, and pix and keeping up with family issues.

Lowepro Compudaypack. The laptop slides into a compartment in the back, the cpap fits in the large top compartment in the front and his canon Dwhatever it is fits in the smaller compartment in the front with a couple of lenses, a small holder for his cards, some extra batteries and a filter or two. Really has made our flying life easier since he required a carryon for each of those three items before. Now he has that one, I have my backpack with all our meds, my wallet, our passports, etc in it. Way less for us old folks to shelp around an airport trying to get from gate to gate.

Way less for us old folks to shelp around an airport trying to get from gate to gate.

got it checking on amazon right now on the other tab

they have it in leaf green but not LIME:eek:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I found it on Lowpro website. It is the first one shown under the backpacks for laptops and cameras. $79 on Lowepro site. I don't know how to post a link here.

LOL!!

At least she got a good grade for her efforts! Poor thing I hope her tooth heals all the way and she can move on to the rest of the crazy P.E. activities. :)

Darn it only fits a 105mm lens. I have a 250mm on my camera so that won't work. Back to the drawing board. (Or as my wife would say "Use what I've got" LOL)

Bruce, as for the Ottawa team - you'll get another one soon I bet! I've been a Lions fan since I was born. My Dad tells stories of bringing me home form the Hospital and setting me in front of the TV to watch a Lions game. My Dad has actually become friends with Wally Buono and Bobby Ackles in the last few years, so that has been interesting.

So which side were you, North or South? LOL

I believe that DEB has already done the on line check in for us. some weeks back. may be that DCL is just having another "bad day" on the web site. Can anyone say "FISHES":scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Looks like you are right on that one. I can now get in and select my country but where it asks for type of ID it only says "Select one" but again there is nothing in the drop box. Because the new rules state you need a passport only has this feature been disabled? Do I just enter my passport # and leave the "Select one" for the type of ID as is? Anyone know? :confused3

Ken,

You are good!!!

Could not bring myself to go see a Renegades game, so it has been a few years since I have had the pleasure of yelling that wonderful expression. My cousin-n-law was an east coast scout for the Riders (I grew up in Halifax). He recruited Wayne Smith....circa 1971...

hmmm, I've got one of those 70-210 compact zooms...should see if it will fit either into one of the pockets....I'll have to force myself to head up to Henry's and browse :cool1:

Too bad amazon will only deliver it to the US...and with our Dollar being soooo good right now

The really good news is that we are 51 days out from when we leave on vacation. So she doesn't really have that many PE days left at all!

A note from the teacher yesterday says the scooter boards have been "retired" for the remainder of the year.

I need to get our well water tested today and then paint the laundry room. The folks that are interested in our house want to look again at 10:30 tomorrow morning, then will let us know by 3:30 if they are going to accept our counter offer. We are a little excited, a little nervous. The offer requires closing by April 14 and us to be out by the 19th. Lots of work to do that in a short time. But, if it is God's plan then we can get it done!

Best of luck on all counts....

We did meet a DISer who not only lived in our neighborhood 20 some years ago, but was very good friends with the older sister of our DD's high school sweetheart. He is one of our DIS friends that we have stayed connected with. We may know some mutual people with your cousin as well. It is a Small Disney World.

MY DH grew up off of Ball Rd and Katella. No kinding about the Small Disney World!

Hopefully each family that is participating will have some kind of FE out for the gifts to be placed in. That would make it easier to not miss anyone.

We didn't put anything out so I think that was the international sign for please leave only one gift. I think if there are names on the FE then you leave the correct numbers of gift.

A friend of mine actually had Russ Jackson as a teacher. I am hoping Ottawa gets a new franchise as I really want to see a game there. I have watched football in all of the Western (including Winnipeg) stadiums so far and after last year I can now add Skydome to the list, but it is my only Eastern stadium so far.

My 250 is my everyday lens so it is attached. Your 70-210 should fit as the compartments around the camera itself are adjustable. Especially, if it is a compact. But I'm not familiar at all with the lens just what I could find online. With Lowepro you can always get a lens case and possibly attach it or put inside the main part of the bag as well.

Good luck!

Yes, but my 250mm is attached as it is the ONLY lens I have right now. I might be getting a 50mm lens but that is up in the air right now. I really don't want to be trying to put the lens on and off everytime I want to take it out and put it away. I'm kinda lazy that way. That's the main reason why I went with the 18-250mm lens - shear laziness! ;) :thumbsup2

Ken,

I've been to baseball games at Olympic Stadium (back when my Expos played) .the absolutely beautiful Lynx stadium (when they were the farm team for the Expos....now called the Allentown Iron Pigs...lol) .(beginning to see a common thread here).. Skydone for a BlueJays game and even made it to Fenway park (sat right beside the Green Monster)

What time are you arriving at POFQ? Suspect we'll be on the same DCL bus on the 10th

Great idea John, I will pick up a set(4) of lithium batteries for when I know I want a faster flash response, and use normal rechargeables for the rest of the time.

Pj

I switched to lithium also. Got them at Sam's or Costco. They last so much longer and faster flash response time.

We get in on the 5th at about 5:30pm.

I've never been one for baseball much to my grandfather's dismay. I have been to one baseball game though - in Kansas City. It was between the Expos and the Royals. Had fun, but baseball just doesn't seem like the right sport for me.

Have always liked baseball, but lost interest after the strike derailed the Expos chances of finally making it to the World Series..

We're flying in on the 9th...should be at the resort by 3 pm...so that means our luggage will arrive after 6 ...then the process of retagging them all...grabbing some supper and chilling until the next morning

I cannot remember, are you one of the deck 7 aft gang?
