I have no idea what I'm wearing for formal nights. I'm afraid that what's in the closet won't fit, and I really don't want to go spending money on new stuff.

It is a problem, particularly if like me you don't do anything else formal at all.

I do have a black skirt that just about fits. It has a handkerchief hem with the points almost reaching my ankles and the short bits just under the knees. Would this do do you think? Trouble is I still can't find sparkly tops. I had hoped to get a dress or two for semi formal etc, but I look silly. If I have a shorter one on I look like a filled donut!!!:lmao:

We have a 30 minute grocery stop in Florida that came with our ground travel. I am going to purchase the wine and champagne there and put it in a special suitcase. After that, I'll just pray that none of them break!

That's okay for a bottle or two, but I'm talking about a case or two for the champagne girls tasting party. How do I get that much onboard in a suitcase??? Especially, without breaking.....and all the tiaras to go with it?

Jackie, did you call and ask him? I was going to do that but I didn't want to hound him if you had already called.

I was thinking that it was a typo and that the actual dimension of a records storage box (Never occurred to me that it might be "record albums" because I don't think anyone even HAS record albums anymore!!) like you buy at Office Depot would likely be 12" x 12" x 16". But if you already talked to him and he confirmed that the last dimension really is 6" then I guess that's that!

NO boxes are allowed to be shipped anymore. :scared:

Which Fuji did you get. We are on our second Fuji. Most recent purchase was the E900.

I ordered the Fuji Finepix S8000fd. My reason for considering it was because I was so happy with the S700 I bought myself this past spring as a replacement for my Sony.

The Fuji completely surprised me.

I've shipped boxes that were about 18 x 18 x 12 and about 20 x 12 x 10 and didn't have any problem and they were scrapbook stuff and I know they weighed more than 20 lbs each. In fact, for some reason, 46 pounds comes to mind for one box. Paper is heavy you know!

I am just replying to everyones posts since I know some skim but......NO boxes are allowed to be shipped anymore.

I guess I won't be bringing as much stuff if I can't ship my box! That was going to give me lots of room in my luggage and alot of it wasn't going to return home to me!

How many bags can the girls take? Perhaps you can utilise their allowance. You can still ship home at the end of the cruise(provising you have a box of course!!!

Yes she is, but since she can't ship it to the boat anymore, she was going to ship to my hotel and maybe to someone else's hotel if we needed more people because there were too many boxes. I know I'll get at least a case or two shipped to my hotel.

Kelly, I think many DISers want to be considerate of your DH. Any recommended behavior when drinking in his presence? Thanks.

Woody

agreed. I know I joke about drinking like a fish, and I admit I do this even on board, (with my one or two drinks a day) but I don't want to offend. Is Jon sensitive to this?

Bloomin' Onion and a Wallaby Darned please!

do you use dotti's weight loss zone for restaurant points? She has some good one on there.

From what I can calculate, the Bloomin Onion would be about 55 points.

After I called IDS and got told no boxes I called Disney Cruise Lines to ask if anyone will take box shipments and they said sorry but no. Then they said only 2 bags and 1 carry on. I said wow but I am on the repo and she said well maybe bring really really big suit cases. She then said the kids count too so pack really big bags for them too. :rotfl:

I've been trying to find the regulation for how many bags you can bring on board

I came across this on one of the cruise sites

"In general, cruise lines will not limit the amount of luggage you bring onboard though there may be limited storage space in your cabin for empty suitcases (most beds are designed to allow most suitcases to fit below). Additional storage space is available onboard."

I called him and asked. He sounded kinda upset about it. Said all the boxes he gets now he has to refuse marked return to sender. Then I called Disney Cruise Lines and asked. They confirmed Coast Guard Regulations. 2 bags 1 carry on and your purse. No More then that.

I didn't ask but I wonder if they will refuse rolling coolers. I know the cruise papers say no coolers but they have always let people bring them anyway. I suppose if you do bring a cooler make it your carry on.

I know what you mean about this catagory, Joseph!

Thankfully I still have two $100 gift certificates from Christmas, one for a ladies plus size shop and one for Westcor mall to cover any last minute clothing emergencies. I still have hopes that some of those 'snug' things in the back of the closet will make their way into the suitcase. (I've actually lost some weight since Friday...more activity really helps in that regard! :thumbsup2 )

.

The clothes bill will be big but every year around June I buy the kids tons of summer clothes so I just assume the cruise clothes will be used after the cruise as well so I am not really spending more just sooner then usual.

Coast Guard Regulations are stating 2 bags and one carry on per person! No shipping anything to port before the cruise. Do not ship to IDS they will refuse the package and ship it back to you. :sad1:

They are having to enforce these rules very strictly now.
2 suitcases
1 carry on
and that is all you can bring.........

So I am off to buy the damn biggest bags I can find I guess :confused3

This may be redundant but does the suitcase have to be a suitcase? Can the suitcase be something else, like a duffle (yes) or a box (perhaps?)

I will see if the actual Coast Guard regs are on-line...

Thanks for the heads-up...

This is going to really get the boards going I bet!

I could see them turning away boxes that people shipped to the pier, but I seriously doubt they'll stop people from taking all of their luggage onboard. What would people do with the stuff they couldn't take on the ship? They won't hold it at the pier--- too much of a liability keeping people's property.

For us, we can only take two checked bags and a carryon onto the plane anyway, so we'll meet the standards.

hahahahah, I like the little guy and depending on my name,(oh is mine the mom) I might like it instead of Nan too :lmao:

Sorry I couldn't wait up for you to get home, too tired.

Now, I'm waiting for coffee to brew then tackling the desk.

Dom is still talking about Wilson and how he is good at nintendo and has a turtle. He asked if we could take a bath and go there to play now. I told him not today and he said "but we go later ok mom". So cute he has a buddy he likes. He told me that I could talk with the little guys mom and he would play. He said you and her can speak and talk. Not quite sure where he picked up "speak" but it is the word of the day here. He asked when the phone rang earlier if I was going to speak to grandma and grandpa. I am just used to him saying talk.

Wilson when he talks is very animated and he has those little pauses in his speech. Dominic does the same exact thing. Too cute. I think it is very true Dominic calling Wilson the little guy. Wilson seems more like a little guy then a little boy. I can see him growing into a very cool laid back intellectual kinda guy. :)

I am still amazed by Molly saying "oh and it is going to be cut to HERE" then pointing to like her ear! OMG I know a good friend would be reassuring you but Nan are you dying? I was when Jacinda demanded a bob hairdo. I felt so bad when she cried but hey maybe it is something each girl needs to do once to see if she likes short hair or not. I am worried for her though! Jacinda does cuts hers every year but only to right below the shoulders and hers grows super fast. You will have to take before and after pictures and a picture of her holding her locks she cuts off.

WELL PEOPLE>>>>>>>>>BAD NEWS.....
I called to ask about sending the boxes I had been packing and was told that you can no longer send anything to this service. So shipping to your hotel is the ONLY option. I will be removing the info from shirley from the first post and then freak out about what the heck I am gonna do with all my crap. :scared1:

So 2 suit cases
1 carry on
and your purse is all you are allowed to bring...........

Well, that could be a problem, I was planning on shipping the scrapbook stuff (at least some of it) ahead of time. I guess I could send it anyway, what are they going to do, send it back? Probably not.......

Kinda like "only magnets on the doors". People are still taping stuff on the doors as of March 2nd.

Well, we could just get one big blue metal container and put everything in there and have delivered to the port and dropped. Will that count as 1? They didn't give a weight restriction, did they?

And if they don't notify all their passengers (let's see what we get in our cruise documents) what are they going to do when we all get to the port, especially those that don't know about the changes, refuse to take the luggage?:confused3

OK - here is the scoop and first I want to say I am truly very sorry to give everyone this news.
I made numberous of phone calls and what has been posted is true. Reasons being that so many boxes, cartons etc were coming in and there was no way to check all items shipped so the coast Guard said NO MORE OF ANYTHING.
If you put water, sodas, liquor etc in carry ons or check ins and if it is found, it will be confiscated - now 2 suitcases and 1 carry on can be carried by each person which includes kids. You can no longer ship diapers, baby food etc. It has to be a carry on or check in.
Wish I would have had better news, but security has tighten down and getting harder, but it is in your best interest and safety that these steps were taken. To tell you how strong they have gotten, Norm and I now have to be double badged - one by the port and the second one by the US Government.

Marr did you post this on the main boards yet? This means we can't check a case of water then either.

nope just here and deleted the IDS infor from the first post on our thread. I was told he wishes people would not post his shipping info anymore as he has been refusing boxes for a while. He said he would accept boxes if he could but he will loose his license if he broke the law. He said these rules are made buy the Coast Guard and there is nothing to be done about it.

Disney may bend the rules and allow a case of water or wine on the ship but it is like in the airport where you may get a worker on a power trip or having a bad day and they honestly could refuse your extra stuff. I would think they would look the other way if it is water or adult drinks but who knows. My carry on may well be a rolling duffle with water in it and some snacks.

Is anyone not doing any "extras" - so no spa, no excursions? I am thinking about our budget and it seems just to go crazy when you add those things on...anyone walk away from a cruise with no bill at all? This one will be tough as our ship board credit doesn't even cover our tips for 6! I used points for our hyatt stay the night before, points for the hertz rent-a-car for ride home...need to pay for transport to the port, and might splurge on a limo...but then think I should just save the money and do a van. But then I really like a limo.

With the spa, I really wanted to try both the Rasul and the Spa Villa for couples. With the excursions, I wanted the kids to do the Dolphins and Sub ride. Argg...I think I would give up my spa so the kids can do the tours, but then I think do they really need those excursions? Being on the ship is going to be such a great vacation in itself.

I figure $100 per kid for souvenirs, knick-knacks, etc. $50 per kid arcade.

How does this compare to some of you guys (if you feel comfortable sharing)? Am I spending more, less, about the same? Having a big family really takes its toll on vacations...

Lisa

I think we'll be set on this cruise. As on our last cruise I made a spreadsheet (I know, I'm anal...and I love excel-sick I am) of all our expenses, from hotels, rental cars, tips, souvies, excursions, spa, drinks, etc. We had an OBC and then I added to our shipboard account prior to sailing. We got off the ship with a $40 credit! So, this time I've done the same thing...and we have a great jump start with the DU OBC, disney visa rewards and then some gift awards DH got at work, we'll be boarding with $2K waiting for us. We still will have to add to that but not too much more. We'll also need some cash, but other than that we're all set. As for the boys they each have $50 in DD that they used birthday money for and we're not doing the arcade. I figure there's so much to keep them busy on the ship. But if they want to then they'll have to use their own money for that. They're bringing their game boys too, so I think they'll be good. We could hardly pry them out of the kids club last time. I just hate having to owe money after my vacation is over so I'm very meticulous about planning it beforehand.

OMG, so no more checked stuff? OH NO!

Well, that is bad news for you all who were going to ship boxes. We were going to bring a couple of bottles of wine in our carry on as we don't drink much but thought we would have a quiet drink.

I really think with ours being a 15 night cruise they should allow some boxes.

I wonder if Shirley knows about this new shipping thing now? She usually updates her post when something new happens and since she is friends with the port guy I would have thought he would have called her.

That's okay for a bottle or two, but I'm talking about a case or two for the champagne girls tasting party. How do I get that much onboard in a suitcase??? Especially, without breaking.....and all the tiaras to go with it?

I called back and asked. I was told if you bring a case of wine that would count as your carry on. You can leave it boxed so they do not break but your carry on you are stuck carrying around until your room is ready. :confused3

nope just here and deleted the IDS infor from the first post on our thread.

Good for you on the weight. I have to lose a few more pounds to fit back into my suit. I am performing my sister's wedding ceremony and it fits a little snug.

DCL has let you check more bags prior, they give out extra tags at the port.

Yup I did that before with my extra bags. They are all parroting a ready made script when I call 2 bags 1 carry on due to limited storage space in your stateroom and coast guard has set the rules not them, wish they could help but they can't. :confused3

I wonder if we all show up with a ton of stuff would they really wanna piss us off and try to deny our belongings? I bet not but I will take really big bags incase.

If you call DCL they will tell you they have a limit though.

This may be redundant but does the suitcase have to be a suitcase? Can the suitcase be something else, like a duffle (yes) or a box (perhaps?)

I will see if the actual Coast Guard regs are on-line...

Thanks for the heads-up...

I suppose it would be 2 "bags" and a carry on. I think luggage would be a better word to use. Two pieces of luggage and a carry on.

Marr, there are 4 of you, are you telling me that 8 bags and 4 carry ons aren't enough :scared1:

Nanny Tiff gets her two for her though.

That leaves six for me. We have a ton of dinner clothes. At least two suitcases full of dresses. Then there is one just for shoes. Then our regular clothes.

I was going to ship pirate stuff and beach toys and baskets I was going to make for the kids. Plus all my fish extender gifts. They are heavy and in boxes!

I had thought we would have 6 cases 2 carry ons and then ship a bunch of boxes. Now that I cannot ship stuff I dunno what I will do. Six super huge bags but then the airlines will charge me the oversized luggage fee when I fly in and home.

Yes, I think a rolling duffle is the answer. That is what we did last year. We also make sure each of the men in our family have a big backpack full of stuff, since they won't carry purses!

We don't have anyproblem dirinking the water, but we are kinda cheap and planned to bring mixers for our liquor. Oh, well, I just hope it's ok. Maybe I'd better have our neighbor wait until we are through security before he leaves us at the port.

I wonder if we can ask someone on a cruise before us to scope it out with the porters at the terminal and see what they can find out for us.

Like I said I bet portside they wont really refuse a bag. Where in the heck would they expect us to put it. Plus many are doing WDW then the cruise then DL. So if you need extra bags they should allow it since you paid so dang much for the trip.

I just called back WOW they must LOVE me huh

I was told the carry on which by the way they call a day bag for some reason can be up to 9x14x22 but really do you thing anyone will try to measure our bags? I don't think so.

I have seen the carry-on coolers in the past and I have taken wine in my carry-on suitcase in the past. This was as of December 2007 - however.

We may need to wait for some returning cruisers to see what is happening.

Disney had told me in the past that they had the luggage restrictions - 2 bags per person, although the Carnival site has no such restrictions, I am looking for that Coast Guard requirement....

hmmm, vodka and coke with lime. I was thinking of picking up the 1 pint plastic bottle of a vodka and a rum maybe, that would be good for a couple of weeks on a ship. I hope we can still bring at least the plastic bottles.

Nope. Imitrex makes my heart race bigtime, so I avoid anything in that family of drugs. I take preventive med twice a day, so I only get an actual migraine about once a week or 2 weeks. :thumbsup2 I'm just whiny when I actually get one. ;)

Is anyone not doing any "extras" - so no spa, no excursions?
How does this compare to some of you guys (if you feel comfortable sharing)? Am I spending more, less, about the same? Having a big family really takes its toll on vacations...

Lisa

On my first Disney cruise, I had a broken foot so I couldn't swim, couldn't really walk anywhere (on crutches). I went to the spa almost every day! It was the only thing I could really do. On the 2 subsequent cruises I didn't go to the spa at all. Plus, there are so many other things to do on the ship (that are included) that appeal to me. I love the talks about the ship, the food classes, the guest speakers, etc. I really doubt I'll do the spa on this trip. I can do that at home, is the way I look at it. Maybe I'll try the rainforest room (I was talking w/Jackie about that yesterday), but that's probably all.

I am doing an excursion in each port, however. And I'm sure I'll want to buy the pins. But I don't really drink, so that saves me a lot of money! And I don't buy the photos from Shutters, although this time I probably will buy some of our group shots. I'll have $300 OBC plus my tutoring $$--I just remembered! :yay: So hey, maybe I will have a massage or 2 after all!

Well, in looking at my Disney Cruise Line Vacation Booklet, you know in the back it does say in fine print "no more than 2 bags per person".

My guess is that this has nothing to do with the Coast Guard and that DCL has "scripted" a response for their CM's to say because the actual ship is tired of having the stateroom hosts haul hundreds of extra bags and boxes each cruise for everyone.

Carnival Cruise Line still has no limit on the number of bags you can bring on.

I assume the luggage thing is like some of the TSA rules. They clamp down when the terror level goes up and then are more relaxed when it is level again.

Not being allowed to ship boxes is bad but I can buy big suitcases. i can't see them saying sorry you can come aboard but your clothes can't. :rotfl2:

I wanted to bring some wine and it will be a pain in the butt to have to lug it myself instead of shipping it though.

Both DCL and the guy from IDS said it was Coast Guard Rules. Something about stateroom safety I think. Maybe Dissers bring so much luggage they are afraid we would trip over it in a emergency and not be able to evacuate? That is why planes require 1 carry on and want bags overhead or under seats, so you can get out faster.

So 2 suit cases
1 carry on
and your purse is all you are allowed to bring...........

Coast Guard Regulations are stating 2 bags and one carry on per person! No shipping anything to port before the cruise. Do not ship to IDS they will refuse the package and ship it back to you. :sad1:

They are having to enforce these rules very strictly now.
2 suitcases
1 carry on

So I am off to buy the damn biggest bags I can find I guess :confused3

Now stateroom safety I can appreciate - esp. with the potential for fires on board.

And speaking of fires, it was soon after the last cruise ship fire we cruised. We had read about bringing clothes lines and pins to hang stuff up in the verandah - so we did - all our wetsuits, BC dive gear etc.

There was a polite note on the bed - not to hang things on the verhandah.

Not a problem we complied.

Now the funny part - also no cigar smoking in the verhandah - HUH - do those two things relate?

And a note that we could hang things in our shower on that little string....OK I appreciate a generic note and the string is fine for swim suits, towels etc, but not dive gear - CRASH......

Great pics of the Dis meet. I love getting to see everyone - it will make the time on the ship that much easier. I keep trying to match names to faces because I am HORRIBLE with remembering that. Just horrible. So these pics help me.

Yes, true that what I am going to saying that. Let you know that I got a new camera and cannot believe it is tiny, fine for hangbag and pocket!!

Thought about you yesterday when the Pipes and Drum Corps were playing at the Irish Festival - they were playing Scotland the Brave!!!! Sound fun, I wish I be there to see it.

I still check every once in awhile . . .

agreed. I know I joke about drinking like a fish, and I admit I do this even on board, (with my one or two drinks a day) but I don't want to offend. Is Jon sensitive to this?

Absolutely Not sensitive! If I could find my post to Woody, I'd repost it here. Although some recovering alcoholics are very sensitive. But they're not as "out in the open" as Jonathan is. Drink openly and talk about it openly - he'll tell you anything. And you'll be shocked when he describes himself... because you'd never guess it now. He has a huge sense of humor, so don't worry about it around him, he'll take care of him.

Has anyone thought about the size of a 12"x12"x6" box. That is 1/2 a cubic ft., I don't think you could get 20# in it if you packed it with rocks. A box that size would handle 1 pair of crocs in a small size.:scared1: Sure hope those dimensions are incorrect.

I called and asked for a supervisor and said ok I am on the repo and need to bring LOTS of bags due to WDW and DCL so what do I do. She said they would most likely turn a blind eye to extra checked luggage but only one carry one per person. She said booze is fine as long as it is the carry on. The luggage thing is a rule she said but it is hard to enforce cold turkey kinda thing so they have been saying two bags but will not leave me at port for having a third bag.

She did say however IDS has really cut off their shipping services. :sad1: She said some CMs may not be aware of it and quoting wrong info but it is indeed true.

Which is why I will have extra bags.

Well, I have to be honest, we saved a certain amount for the last year and will be putting it on the room when we board. We have always spent over $2,000 just the two of us!! Mostly on spa and alcohol!! Embarassing, I know. But when we go on these trips, we don't want to worry about anything, just get what we want, when we want it. So normally it's on the cc and we have that bill at the end. So that's why we went a different route this time and saved the money. We won't have a bill and might even have some left! But if we don't, that's okay too. It is easier to do that when it's just the two of us.

And a group of one is cheaper still!;)

We've decided to cook dinner for Peg and DBil on Friday night, and are having trouble with a menu. As I haven't been cooking much, there aren't a lot of supplies on hand. Told Dianne, if I have to buy five different spices....pick another receipe! Any suggestions for a fairly uncomplicated company dinner? Nothing involving soy or terri-ickiey, no peas, nothing requiring a food processor or outdoor grill.

.

I like to do pasta with sauce and some sauteed veggies--I got some great bottled sauce at Fresh N Easy, have you shopped there? I love it!

The other night I used a bottle of their sauce, and additional can of tomato chunks, and some fresh spinach that I sauteed in olive oil and garlic. Mixed it all together and served over some fancy schmancy pasta I got at Trader Joe's.

I did post about this when the subject arose before. In DCL's Terms & Conditions it states clearly:

"Each Guest may bring aboard the ship a reasonable amount of clothing and personal effects without charge, not to exceed two bags per person."

Here's Shirleys response to mine and V's question about this

Always
Shirley

I had hoped to pack the wine so I did not need to carry it with me in the carry-on - but pooh - now what to do.

I assume we will hear more before May...

Ok, I hope nobody is too much of a wine snob (that includes you Californiians:) ) On the TA I brought 2 boxes of wine, YES, I SAID BOXES. I like Pinot Noir and Corbet Canyon has it a box. They are unbreakable and will fit nicely in a backpack or roll on carry on suitcase.

They didn't last ALL cruise, but when I got to Rome I got more, and then again in Croatia, Italy, France, Sicily.....un,,,,, well, that's enough of that!

And if they don't notify all their passengers (let's see what we get in our cruise documents) what are they going to do when we all get to the port, especially those that don't know about the changes, refuse to take the luggage?:confused3

It isn't a change.
The T&Cs for our cruises in May 2006 and April 2007 both stated only 2 bags per person.

From what others have said, it would seem that DCL haven't previously enforced this limit. Perhaps they are now going to start doing so.

I love the relationship that our boys are developing. Yes, I've always said Wilson was born a little old man.

I'm FREAKING OUT OVER HER HAIR. I was just thinking what kind of bribe I could offer to get her to not do it. ANYTHING!!!!! But I know it's not the right attitude, but she is my little girl and I just don't want her to suffer when it's gone. And I know my daughter she will be heart broken for a moment, those tears that you can save them from shouldn't you????

Here's Shirleys response to mine and V's question about this

Always
Shirley

I called back and asked. I was told if you bring a case of wine that would count as your carry on. You can leave it boxed so they do not break but your carry on you are stuck carrying around until your room is ready. :confused3

There's no way I'm physically carrying a case of champagne around with me all day as my carry on and then where do I put the things I need to carry on like my meds. It's just not going to happen.

I agree that they will turn a blind eye on the checked bags. When Porter Bob shows up at the gate to unlock I really don't think he is going to take the time to figure out whose bags are whose when there are already 50 bags there and people milling all around. He just wants the TIP MONEY!!!!!

Today, I alter two dresses:thumbsup2 One light dress is easy to alter but dark blue was difficult so I took it to old sewing classes and got help.

Olivia love the light blue dress!!

No, it just happened to be where we saw the hat. We'd already looked in the other 3 parks and various hotel shops but hadn't seen anything like what you wanted. Then towards the end of the week we went to MGM (sorry, Hollywood Studios!) and there they were. :)

I just spoke with DCL (Joshua who checked with his supervisor) and was told there has been no change that they know of as far as what can be carried on and how many bags they will check for you. I was told they still will have tags that the porters can put on extra bags. I specifically asked about carryon. I explained that DH has a camera bag, a cpap bag, a laptop, and that DCL recommends bringing a change of clothes, meds, and anything else we might need for the day in a day bag. I was told it would be FINE for him to have all 4 of these things with him. I think the shipping is the only thing that has changed. I may call again in a couple of days and see if I get the same answer. Guess after the next couple of cruises leave we will know for sure.

For everyone fretting over the 2 bag limit - may I once again suggest the Big Rig 30 by Eagle Creek with the packing cubes. I am NOT a size 6 but I can get 14 capri outfits, 4 bathing suits, undies with a couple of extras, 3 pjs, 3 prs of shoes, a jacket, and toiletries in 1 bag. Since I have 2 then the bag allowance should be no problem.

When everyone gets to the port, once inside the DCL terminal, we can take over the very front where all the seats are. Since I'll be stationed there until we board the ship, I'm more than happy to have everyone's stuff like that behind me. I think Kelly will be there also handing out lanyards. If needed we could get some "crime tape" and have our own little storage area.

I figure we just need to be flexible!

(and you can go to your stateroom at 1:30 p.m. so no need to schlep around all day long).

Also, I have been known to run down to my stateroom and go under the barrier and I just say "hi" to my stateroom host who is finishing my room and ask if it is okay if I just dump my carry on in the stateroom. He/she always says yes and I just pop it right into the closet. I always go by myself and my family heads to lunch and then I meet them up there. I do it "really quick", and I am in and out in a flash.

For carry on you can use a rolling cooler(should hold a case of whatever) and a very large purse(such as a small duffle).

I agree. I think we just need to stop calling them because we are going to keep getting 10 different answers. And the more we call, then the more they are going to be talking about it at DCL.

Just plan on carrying everything or checking it at the port and just don't ship any boxes ahead of time. I think we will all be fine then.

And, for anyone that is not using some of their pre-printed luggage tags, you could probably score something with them and use their unused ones. Even though your luggage may end up in the wrong room, it will be on the ship and you can go pick it up once it is delivered if there is some strict rule enforced about 2 per person, even though I don't believe that will be the case. Usually families travelling with small children (4 members) will not check 8 suitcases in at the port.

Seriously guys, I think we'll be FINE. This is the same policy DCL had for our last cruise, and it's not strictly enforced. We had more than one carryon per person and there was no issue. I'm sure if you have three bags to check per person it's not going to be an issue. The only thing that's changed is that they don't want boxes shipped to the pier- which stinks, but what are you going to do!

The thing is their paperwork has always said 2 bags. So no it has not changed just maybe they try to enforce it now.

The bags do not really bother me it is not being able to ship items. Nobody really wants to lug cases of wine around. OR all the beach toys and pirate stuff. Oh well times do change and I will adjust.

Drink openly and talk about it openly - he'll tell you anything. And you'll be shocked when he describes himself... because you'd never guess it now. He has a huge sense of humor, so don't worry about it around him, he'll take care of him.

They didn't last ALL cruise, but when I got to Rome I got more, and then again in Croatia, Italy, France, Sicily.....un,,,,, well, that's enough of that!

And guess what - I concur, I bought my wine boxes for the cruise, they were going in my box to be checked - but now I will need to see if they will fit in the carry-on. I think on is the Corbet Canyon Pinot and we have a merlot as well.
