A lot of new CPers and myself have been accepted for Attractions and i know nothing about some of the rides and their costumes that the attraction cast members have to wear. I was wondering of what yall though some of the best and worst costumes are. Does anyone know a website or anything so i could see some of the costumes?! Thanks everyone!

haha. I def vote for Park Greeter for MK. Those striped shirts & blue pants. completely dated & those horrible pleats!!! ahhh
PAC is a little better... although whoever decided on that didn't think about having to stand in the FL sun, no shade, at 2pm in dark navy blue. ha
... but idk. I kinda want to say some of AK's rides too... some of them are like neon colors & weird prints that dont really match. ha.

My vote for worst is Disney Quest costumes, and I don't know anyone from Quest that would disagree with that sentiment.
Best: I happen to like ToT, though I know a lot of people that like Haunted Mansion's costumes as well.

Toontown costumes were no fun. We had to wear these shirts that had little mickey heads all over them and had wrangler jeans to go with it. Although I know there are worse ones the toontown costumes weren't a picnic in the heat.

See I kinda felt the opposite for the same reasons! I hated wearing a 3 piece costume in 90 degree heat! Plus the PG costume was comfy and generic! The pleats were terrible, though!

I'd have to agree with the other person about some AK outfits looking a little off.

Out of the two costumes I wore, I liked the PAC costume better than the PG one. The navy blue just looks so nice. Most of my shifts were at night, but when I did have the occasional day shift, the PAC costumes did get somewhat unbearable. But I would take the PAC costume in the sun any day than to wear the PG one.
I have always admired the costumes for Casey's. They just look comfy to me.

When I did my CP at Epcot, we affectionately referred to the Future World outdoor food arts as the "Barney Scrubs" costumes. Two-toned purple scrub looking outfits. SEXY!
I much preferred my stocker uniform, light blue and white striped button down and navy blue shorts/pants (oh and I snuck out a pair of boy shorts from costuming and kept them the whole time so I didn't have to wear the pleats!)

ok i dont know about wdw but I always said since I was little that I wanted to work at the matterhorn ad DL so I could wear the costume. Its so cool. and they get warm wool long coats in the winter. I am so incredibly jealous, but of course in fl I dont think anyone would want to wear one of thoses long wool coats.
I really love dressing up and one reason Im upset about getting qsfb is that I wont be able to wear a really cool costume. Are there any qsfb places with awesome costumes, not just shirt and pants/shorts?

Almost every role in Disney parks has a costume. In Magic Kingdom depending what land your in there are all different kinds of costumes. Animal kingdom has bright costumes with patterns on them. Mgm has all different costumes, so it really just all depends on where you are in the parks. And you may not even be in the parks, you could be in the resorts as well. It's kind of difficult to go into all the different costumes they have but I can tell you the wardrobe building at magic kingdom is huge and has TONS of costumes.

Didn't they address this in your interview? Attractions was my #2 and she asked me right off if I was willing to memorize a spiel and do it in front of large crowds? If you said no I would assume they'd wouldn't put you in that kind of ride.

I did the spring advantage in '05 and I worked in MGM attractions. I'd have to say after comparing my costumes to my roomates from Magic kingdom...MGM "Hollywood Studio" costumes are the best because they are simply a pair of khaki pants and a button up collared t-shirt. very light and comfortable. :-)

Yes, Disney has all different sizes. I am not a size 2 either and it doesn't help that I am only 4'11" but Disney had pants that fit me perfectly. And even some that were too short for me, which has NEVER happened! Trust me you will get a costume that fits.

I believe the only QSFB that has a dress is the Restaurantasaurus (or whatever it's called in Dinoland). Other then that, it's VERY bright pants. There are also a couple of plain pants too.

All different sizes to accomodate everyone...no worries! If they don't have something to fit someone, they'll have it made...but I only heard of one person I knew needing that...and it was more likely a replacement item for something that was never returned. You check out your own costumes, so you find the correct size/fit yourself, though people are on hand to help in the process--Disney likes everything to fit just so... I know in my placement, we had to have our costumes approved during training for proper fit, then we knew which sizes to get each time.
If you are a popular size, consider keeping the same costumes the entire time. That's what I did and just laundered them myself.
Also, EVERYONE feels huge at Disney in costuming because the costumes are in tailor's sizes...

Thanks guys! One of the reasons I love Disney so much is because of the differences in cultures and sizes of people that work there. I'm glad to know they have a wide amount of sizes and that they will make something for me if something didn't fit right. I've seen people of all sizes working there so I kinda thought that's how it would be, but I guess I just wanted to put my mind at ease:)

I honestly don't remember my "disney size", so it either ends up being double, i.e. I'm a US size 6, so I was like a 12 there, or it's like the European sizing where I'm a size 36 or 38!!! It has to do with cm and tailor measurements. I did it all when I was studying costume design at Uni, but Disney's size scale has slipped my mind for the moment...
It's a fun adventure at costuming the 1st day and if you pick up extra hours somewhere...

I like my photopass costume... but CP's can't do it.
Although I hate the knickers, which are 3/4 length pants with a hidious collared shirt. The knickers are worn by merchadise carts, balloon vendors, and the photographers only on main st. Casey has the same thing but at least they're inside.
The only costume I can think of at AK with a skirt is merchandise in discovery island.
And for the shoes, either all white, all black, or at DAK or Frontierland brown boots. Usually they'll let you get away with just brown shoes. You can have any brand you want, and plenty of the stores around here carry a lot of all white/black. Almost all the shoes I see are new balances, including mine.
Wide World of Sports is the only area that will allow you have any logos visible. Meaning you can wear those white nike's with a big black check on the side, but in the parks, it better be a big white check (or at least like silver and sorta invisible).

My roommate was a Fairy Godmother-in-Training and I went shoe shopping with her. They wear black Mary Janes (shoes with the strap on top, like little girl shoes!) MJ's are my favorite!! but i wouldn't suggest getting high heeled MJ's, because you will be standing for long periods of time. My roommate had problems with her feet and such.

And generally it's the full timers that get transfered to inside the other parks. I'm sure F&B can go anywhere, parks or resorts. But they still need some ride operators/life guards because of the crazy canadians. And there's also all the life guards at resorts too.

And would it have hurt them to design a costume for Kilimanjaro Safaris?
Seriously, adding a patch to the sleeve of the Jungle Cruise costumes does not make a new costume!
As a former Safari driver, all I've got to say is that it was the Kilimanjaro costume LONG before it was the Jungle Cruise costume. Up until 2004-ish, the Jungle Cruise wore a different costume. (I believe brown pants and a white shirt, but not 100% sure)
Guessing, based on that description, that you worked in the Backlands area ... specifically, either Lights Motors Action, Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground, Millionaire, or the Backlot Tour.

Now that I think about it, I believe you are indeed right! In any case, they shouldn't be the same. Plus, that khaki mustard color, occurs nowhere else in the world. It's not even the color worn by DNR personnel in state and national parks...
Don't misunderstand, I pretty much liked the safari costume and loved my job (most days).

black denim pants or shorts, white shirt with guitars printed on it, red vest (at some positions). Also an option of a black jacket with a Rock N Roller Coaster logo on the back
