What WDW attraction is so bad, you would you like to see Disney get rid of - *BUT* only AFTER you've had the chance to drag your kids through so they have a feel for what you had to endure? (even if you don't have kids)

Me, I'm still working up the courage to drag the kids into Tiki Room (even though it's under new management, I still shudder at the thought of chanting totem poles) :rotfl:

I just took the kids through the Swiss Family Tree House. They were saying "...and the point is?":confused3

Carousel of Progress, I have no intention of taking my own kids in here ever. Maybe, if Disney would like to hold onto it another 25 years and my bones are too old for the newest thrill rides, I'll take my grandkids. :wizard:

Totally agree on the Tiki room. In fact our last trip we did take our DD13 to it just so she could see how bad it is. It was the first time DH and I saw the new configuration of it and it is even worse than before.
I don't agree on COP though! I guess this is just one of those rides that people either love or hate. It is a must do for us. Even our DD loves it. I think with DH and I it is because it brings back memories of our long ago trips to WDW. It is a tradition I guess. We always get that song stuck in our minds the rest of the day after hearing it!

Universe of Energy, unless you really need a 45 minute sit down... no chance to sleep because dinosaurs are too noisy, had to reassure DD that dinosaurs were not going to be as scary as the ones in AK two days previously, and then listen to DD whining "when is this going to be over?"

Haven't inflicted Hall of Presidents on DD yet either ;)

I like the Tiki Room (I am probably the only one on the board that does). I have never been into the Hall of the Presidents, nor do I ever plan to. BORING!!!!!!!

The Jungle Cruise is pretty bad IMO too!!!! We won't go back on that on our next trip.

Tiki Room is a big ol' waste of my time.

The CoP is one of my favorite attractions ever!
Anyway as far as what I'd like to see gone I'd have to go with the Universe of Energy, the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House, and Stitch's Great Escape.

My vote goes to Indiana Jones @ HS. That in my opinion is a total waste of time...I didn't think there was anything remotely exciting about it. Disney could have done so much better with something else....anything else. I was entertained by Stitch than I was IJ.

think about the message and not the thrill value of the attraction -

we love everything about the world - my kids, my husband, and I, and my kids are 15, 17, & 2 years old - and from the beginning we've told them that Walt had a story to tell and used his attractions to tell them - swiss family robinson - the story - tiki room - the entertainment - cop - the story - even small world -

as everyone says - to each his own - but remember to think about the who, what, where, & why the attraction and park was made and maybe you'll not put down what other people enjoy and ask questions that are constructive

Can you tell me the answer to these questions regarding "Sounds Dangerous"?? Maybe I can better appreciate it - DH and I really just didn't understand the point.... Maybe we were just totally missing something :confused3 :confused3

Well, now that you've bruised my feelings about the Tiki Room, which I feel is rich in Disney history & creativity (I'll admit the original was better), I'd have to nominate HISTA, which to me is just begging for replacement.

What's funny is, I never have & never would ride ToT or RnRC, yet I know enough about them to think they both get points for being creative & enjoyable for those who like that type of ride experience & would never suggest their removal just because they're not my cup of tea.

I totally agree...I pretty much like every ride at Disney. I just like looking at the theming. I love the Tiki room and the Jungle Cruise. I just like thing about how much technology has changed and how creative Walt was for his time.

As for Sounds Dangerous...I like it too. I like it becuase I get to seriously think about the roll that sounds plays in a movie. And how I can still see what is going on even without a picture. I think it is just something different. Like everything at disney...everything is uniquely its own. They has something that appeals to everyone at every age...something that alot of parks don't have.:wizard:

The Universe of Energy is just painful for us. We gave it another shot when they updated it, but even that didn't help for us.

I also agree with the PP that HISTA is in dire need of a makeover.

Its a Small World would get our vote.

Yes... I do know some people love this ride. But dolls that spin and a soundtrack that will follow you for days???

My 9 year old son said after riding it "ya know, if you really want world peace make all the presidents of all the countries of the world ride it till they decide to get along. Anyone breaks the truce they woulds have to go back and ride it again and again till they behaved. There would be no more wars out of complete fear of that ride"

Stitch's Great Escape...I can't stand that ride! :scared: Only one of my four nephews found it entertaining.

I also agree about Sounds Dangerous. Yikes, that attraction is just unfortunate!

Oh, gotta be Stitch. As lame as some other attractions are, this one really takes the cake.

Alien Encounter was at least a good time. Something about having Stitch burp on me just isn't magical!

IMO Stitch Encounter. They should have left it alone........we loved it before.

HISTA needs updating. As it is, I can't stand it.

Jungle Cruise, I guess it depends on the skipper you get, but we haven't found one that kept us interested yet.

The Swiss Family Robinson Tree House, The Jungle Cruise, and Stitch's Great Escape are my votes.. I think I will make my children go on these rides just so they know that we never need to do them again!! :)

Hate to burst anyone's bubbles, but they're never going to get rid of It's a Small World, Swiss Family Treehouse, or Carousel of Progress because they were some of Walt's Babies (especially IASM and CoP). To me, I'd be furious if they touched anything that Walt had a hand in because its HIS park. It's the sentimentalist in me that gets angry any time somebody insults IASM or CoP because they were so important to Walt, and I think that the company knows that and won't touch them, besides the needed refurbs.

I see HoP, CoP, the Tiki Room, IASW as "necessary evils". I'm not really fond of any of them, but seeing as how every time I've ever been to WDW my mom has made me ride them, so now the trip just doesn't feel complete without them:rolleyes: . Even now as I'm writing this I can hear "It's a small world after all, it's a small world after all....." it's awful:scared: , but I guarantee this Dec I'll be sittng through all of these again:upsidedow . As for the Jungle Cruise I absolutely love it, it's one of my favorite rides. I hate Stitch's Great Escape, Alien Encounters was wonderful, and I was so upset when I heard it was gone:guilty: (they should atleast move it to HS:idea: ). Anywho, that's just my 2 cents.:goodvibes

You're not bursting anyone's bubble here... this is all wishful thinking & we know it. What makes it funny is that these are the same attractions we do not want to see WDW do away with because we need our kids to experience them too :rotfl:

As for changing the rides Walt created I see no issues with improving them - in fact he was all for developing & utilizing technology and updating the old to the new. He never would have wanted to see anything developed by him or in his name labeled as "out of date". I believe if he were alive today he'd be embracing the "green" technologies now emerging and, at the very least, the air by the raceway would be a bit cleaner.

ETA: I've never been in the Stitch attraction *gasp* and I love the Jungle Cruise (my feelings are not bruised by those who think the space could be put to better use) - I will say it's best when the captain is really into it and fun, not just repeating their same jokes over and over and over. (Or like the last woman we got who complained about the boats in front of us having too much fun - and she was truly upset! Sounded like she needed to move on to working a new attraction)

Christa112: You will be happy to know that my DH absolutely refuses to leav ethe Magic Kingdom unless he has been to the Tiki Room AT LEAST ONCE. I will go once with him--it's not that bad. But if he goes a second time, he's on his own.

Don't like Stitch at all and Jungle Cruise has gotten REALLY old.

Actually I'm suprised that no one has included Small World in their list.....but then again the post is young.

Spaceship Earth seemed really boring the last time we were there. Hopefully the changes will help keep me awake! I hope the Star Tours ride will eventually get updated too. The only thing that made the ride fun was watching my seven year old ride it for the first time. I wish they would quit talking about updating it and actually do it!

I vote for the Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland. I sat there and nothing happened. Just people all around me eating turkey legs. You're not even supposed to bring food on a ride. They...

What...? Really...? Not a ride?...........What do you mean it's a restaurant?

I concur. Hands down, the one attraction I warn people away from. And sometimes they just don't listen, only to tell me later: "You were right about Stitch. Bleh."

I know everyone seems to love it BUT I can't STAND the haunted mansion! It scares the bejeesus out of me. I will go on any rollercoaster but I hate ghost trains with a passion. My poor Mum has to go on it alone if she wants to. I have been once and came off in tears! I was mortified with all these little kids going past and laughing at me!!! :lmao:

The COP,Sounds Dangerous, Narnia, TTA and the Ellen thing over at Epcot are past retirement. DH always threatens me with one of the above if I'm "misbehaving" :rotfl: Then I make him ride POTC 5 times in a row! :rotfl2:
I would hope that with the announcement of the new rides at that park across I4 and the addition of the Harry Potter, that WDW will stay true to form and blow them out of the water! I would rather see the investment in newer and updated things (or for a Space Mt upgrade) than maintenance on the boring stuff that, have you ever noticed...there's never a wait?? there's a reason for that! :rolleyes1

There were serious plans to get ride of CoP, but people kept freaking out so they haven't gone through with it yet. Its a really large space, and its closed a lot during the slow season, so I don't see that staying around a lot longer.

Jungle cruise is one of my favorite rides when I get a cool skipper. I have been lucky the last few times, and I think its fun when I am with a big group of people. Its just a silly ride. Its not interesting when they just stick to the script, but there are not a lot of rides left that there is human interaction like that. They even seem to be phasing it out of the Haunted Mansion. I wish I was a jungle cruise skipper.

I don't like stich, and I definitely don't like stichs great escape.

I don't really dislike any rides or attractions. Some we do seldom like The Swiss Family Robinson Tree House and Stitch. I hadn't been on Stitch since its preview but I have to admit we recently went on it again. It didn't see as bad but I certainly won't be rushing to go on it again anytime soon.
I like Tiki room and the Jungle Cruise I love the corney jokes. Once in a great while we visit the Hall of Presidents maybe for a comfortable cool place to rest lol. My dd and I recently went on the river boat while dh was in the smoking area it wasn't crowded and we just sat in the bow of the lower level and enjoyed a break.
On really crowded days we do the less exciting attractions so we don't stand in a line forever. It's easy for us because we have the passes and can always go back and do Splash MT and BT and SM another day.

Well when you listen to the Carousel of Progress song over and over for about 20 min. you want to take an ax and tear it down. COP broke down and we couldn't leave and we sat through "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of everyday. There's a great big beautiful tomorrow and tomorrow is just a dream away. A man has dream and that's the start. He follows his dream with mind and heart. And when it becomes a reality, it's a dream come true for you and me." "There's a ..."

I love CoP it and the Tiki room are part of my must rides. Though I wish they'd revamp the final room in CoP to be a bit more stylized and futureistic.
I couldn't stand the Nemo show, even DD found it dull.
