Pirates of the Caribbean 4

Not sure this is the right place to post this, but I just read it.

Here´s the quote from the Hollywood Stock Exchange, where the film is listed as being in development. "After the blockbuster success of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Disney is gearing up for a fourth installment. The latest chapter is rumored to be about Captain Jack Sparrow and his search for the Fountain of Youth. While Johnny Depp has expressed interest in continuing with the popular role, Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom are unlikely to return. " Has anyone else heard this???

It's been a rumor for some time. Once it's in Variety, I'll fully believe it. Johnny's got quite a line-up of movies he's already contracted to so it would be a little while; which would be good. Y'know what they say about too much of a good thing. A few years between would probably work out well for all involved and bring in more moolah.

There are various, conflicting rumors floating around at the moment. One says that the sequel will involve Capt. Jack searching for the Fountain of Youth, as set up at the end of PotC3. Another says he'll be searching for the lost continent of Atlantis. One rumor says that PotC4 will be downsized in scope to avoid the bloated budget of PotC3. Another says that it will actually be increased in scope to make it an over-the-top epic adventure.

In other words, nobody knows for sure exactly what's going on. So take anything you read on the internet with a HUGE grain of salt. :)

My husband and I both said it looks like there could be another one after watching the 3rd. I know Johnny Depp will be in my area filming for one of his next movies.

Captn' Jack... Yah Baby! All three of my girls love the Pirates. I would soooo buy tickets to that movie. But, I also love Will Turner.

I guess they have enough material for some more movies: Fountain of Youth, Atlantis, ... I just hope they will stop in time before the good gags run out and they make lame movies. Some time between the movies may be good too. It's like with Jurassic PArk: each time one of those came out, a new generation of young boys was ready to be amazed by dinosaurs! :)

The way they ended the third one was soooo setting up for a sequel down the line, but they did it in such a way that they ended the trilogy, ended the story with Keira and Orlando so they will not have to be involved down the line, Capt. Jack is the real big star, all they need is Depp and they got POTC 4! In my mind this is not a question of IF but WHEN? I would say it would be smart not to wait too long but if Rambo and Rocky can come back 20 years later I guess Capt. Jack could have a late come back... but if they wait that long they might need to find the real fount o' youth for Johnny.

From what I understood, Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom were not really interested in being in any more PoTC movies. The only cast member that I read saying anything positive was Johnny Depp. He seemed to be into making quite a few more.

Disney doesn't believe in too much of a good thing. They are all about over-saturation of the market, plain and simple. If there is money to be made, then another POTC film will come. If not, they will rip off another park attraction and turn it into a movie.
