This is a question for all of you who stay at SSR when you go out to Orlando. Can you tell us where you shop that is near to the resort?
Thanks

I've never been a huge fan of Wal*Mart for groceries, but there is a huge new one on Palm Parkway which is so close to SSR, it would be silly not to use it. Do you want directions for the main route or the back route?
There's also a supermarket at the Crossroads which is easy to get to - it used to be Goodings, but I'm not sure if that's still the case. I know they sold most of their outlets to Winn-Dixie.

I think which ever route is the best thanks Deb !!
It's our first visit to SSR so we'll be finding our way round a bit.

We find Publix to be much cheaper than Goodings and not too far away, just up Vineland Ave opposite the Premium Outlets. Or if you go down the 535 there is another Walmart, which is quite new and large!

OK, well let's go with the main route. I've got a bit of an obsession with finding all the alternate routes, but it's probably no quicker. Well, maybe a bit quicker, but definitely not shorter.
As you exit SSR, turn right onto Vacation Club Way and then right onto Buena Vista Drive. You will come up alongside Downtown Disney Marketplace (on your right) and you need to bear left at the lights onto Hotel Plaza Blvd. You'll drive past all the non-Disney onsite hotels and then reach another set of lights at the US 535, Apopka-Vineland Road. If you go straight across at the lights that will take you into the Crossroads Shopping area. To get to WalMart, turn left at these lights and then move over into the right-hand lane and take a right at the next lights onto Palm Parkway. WalMart is on the left-hand side just around the point where Palm Parkway becomes Turkey Lake Road (I'm guessing about two miles).
There's also a Winn-Dixie on the Apopka-Vineland Road. Instead of turning right onto Palm Parkway, carry straight on at that set of lights and it's about half a mile on the right.

You cannot loose using those directions from Deb. It is one of the few routes I finally managed to memorise and a pretty easy drive too. I would go for this over Goodings personally.
