I would like to add a collar to a dress up Snow White outfit for my daughter. I was thinking I could sew some velcro to the neckline at the back of her dress and attach a collar to that. Does anyone have any suggestions for fabric or a pattern for a collar? I really don't want something quite as large as Snow White's actual collar, maybe only 3 inches tall at the most. I don't think interfacing will be quite stiff enough to hold a collar up.

Thanks for any ideas.

Joann's carries a product called "Timtex"...probably available other places of course....but it's used as an interfacing for making vases, which of course have to stand up on their own. This would certainly work for a collar as well.

Thank you. We don't have a Joann's in my town, but we do have a Hancock Fabrics. I did not see Timtex on the Hancock's website, but they do carry Peltex Extra Firm Stabilizer and Pellon 50 Heavy Weight Sew-In Stabilizer. Do you think one of those would be about the same as the Timtex?

Sorry, no ideas for you here. But the ladies on the Disboutiques board might be able to help. It's under the Disney for Families board. It's an incredibly active group of seamstresses (and a seam-mister, too!)
