DON'T FORGET
(1) Pack way more film than you think you'll need.
(2) Your itinerary!!!!
(3) Enough cash so if you forget something important, WHO CARES buy a new one! LOL!
(4) Tape your favourite TV shows while you are gone. (Eco Challenge is on during our trip, so we'll tape it)
(5) Remember where you packed things. I KNOW I packed a bunch of different sized baggies and in Florida I could NOT find them ANYWHERE! I found them while I was unpacking at home.
FORGET IT AT HOME! (What you won't need ~ waste of space)
(1) Shampoo ~ they give you plenty in resorts
(2) Blow dryer
(3) Iron
(4) Clothes that don't match two or more things ~ you'll have better luck with mix and match stuff.

LOL ~ big pink shoes!
Also bring all confirmation numbers and telephone numbers of folks back home. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself on where the hospital is and tele # of clinics.
Bring your fav treats from home in case you can't find them in WDW. We brought one box of ds fav Arrowroot cookies and he went thru them in 2 days, we could not find them ANYWHERE! I also love a certain candy and brought 2 bags.
LOTS of hair ties and clips! I hate it when I forget a hair tie ~ if I don't wear a hair tie in my waist length hair on Space Mtn, I get off looking like a clown ~ can I borrow your pink shoes?

1. Diet Mountain Dew (for some reason the bottom half of the country just doesn't seem to carry it-especially in New Orleans area!)
2. Diabetic necklace - of all things-one left on kitchen table-one on my desk at work-I should have called and had them mail it to the motel-we went to 4 different pharmacies and of course they had every kind except diabetic.
3. Bandaids (not at home but left them in the motel room - both in Disney and New Orleans)-I am a blister person and should have had enough smarts to put them in my purse.

It isn't a very good look:jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: :jester:
LOL,
Roll on the floor,
LOL (which is what I suspect people did when they saw them)
Don't forget to photocopy your tickets in case you loose them. It is the only way they can be traced.
Also, don't forget to bring ME when you go next...LOL
Heck, a girl just has to try...:D

Thanks everyone, you all have great idea's. My biggest worry is i am going to forget my passporter book. I have everything in there. I am going to make a check list and hold on to that book for dear life. LOL. I have 11 more days and i don't know if i can take it. I am driving everyone nuts. At least i have you people who share the same desire as i do. LOL.
I do want a pair of those pink water shoes. LOL , but not size 11. I really do have to get a pair for me and my son, hubby already has a pair. Does anyone know where i can pick these up. I know it isn't in season for them. Any Idea's?
Bandaids what a great idea, didn't even think of that. This is a great subject, give me some more idea's. This is helping me more than you know.
Thanks everyone.....Nancy

I would stop my newspapers and mail. So everyone won't know i am on vacation. I would have my check list and go through it before i leave the house. I won't forget to enjoy myself and have a great time. I would like to forget to go back to work when i came home. LOL.

Turn your washing machine water OFF. Anyone who has had their water hose rupture knows that you'd better be home when it happens, or your house is flooded in no time. My girlfriend's entire house had to be gutted out and wallboard and floors replaced after they returned home from Disney. We've had it happen when we were home, thank goodness. It took me over an hour to clean up five minutes of the explosion. Now I shut the water to the washer off every time I'm done with a load.
Have a great trip!

a toothbrush. I've forgotten mine on so many trips that I finally found a good sale and put a brand new toothbrush in every single suitcase I might choose to travel with. (Guess it has to do with leaving the toothbrush out to use just before I go and then not remembering to throw it in).
I know for a fact that you can buy a crummy one for $3 at the Carribbean Beach :(

When we went down in 2000, we were camping in FW. I was soooo careful - I made lists and packed most everything up the night before. We stopped in a KOA to sleep the first night and realized I had forgotten the bed pillows for my DH and me!! I remembered the kids pillows, but forgot ours! We had to stop at the Wal-mart off of I-4...2 forgotten pillows cost me over an hours time and $97!!! Never let a husband wander off in that store!!

I am always good at packing everything (I start almost a week before we leave). But one time I opened my wallet and left it in the front seat of the car, realizing it at the airline's counter when they asked me to show an ID! I panicked and ran to the nearest shuttle begging the driver to take me back to my parking lot.
I made it ... barely!

I had the same fear of forgetting something and what I did was leave a piece of paper on my desk with a pen and in the days before the trip, I would remind myself to bring things by writing them down. This comes in handy, especially when it comes to things you need to keep unpacked until the day of your trip, like cell phone chargers, razors, shaving cream, toothbrush, etc.
Try it, and I think it will work very well for you.

I am so glad I read this. I didn't even think about the cell phone charger. I don't plan to use the phone unless there is an emergency but I was going to check it at night for messages.

When we left for the Disney Cruise, I forgot all my good jewelry that I had planned to wear with my new dresses for dinner. I had to buy some new stuff (necklace and a few pairs of earrings) at Downtown Disney before we left for the port. I made out pretty good, though.
Once on a business trip, I left all my underpants at home. Luckily I found a store nearby (and I had a car) to buy more.

I bought my DH some new shorts & pants for our trip, I forgot to pack any belts and just figured we'd buy a new one at disney. Did you know that there was no place to buy any in disney? We checked every store we passed in disney and in downtown. Finally we drove over to Walmart and got one. BTW, wouldn't you know it, on our last day we found a store in Epcot ( Mexico ) that had plenty.

My family will never let me live down the fact that after spending endless hours reading my DIS boards to be prepared with every bit of info I would need.....I FORGOT MY PURSE!!!! I had a canvas bag with all my info, tickets, passes & books in it over my arm, and left my purse on the counter! And it wasn't until after my friend dropped us off & we were standing at the ticket counter that I noticed. Luckily my DD had her cell phone and my friend was able to race home & return with it (good thing we were there 2 hours early). Another thing we missed having was an umbrella, we had the ponchos but you really didn't want to put one on just for a quick trip to the food court or gift shop at your resort. Have a wonderful trip! ~:)~

Tape your list of last minute, got to put it in the suitcase right before you leave things, on the front door (or door you use to leave).
Something I usually pack, that is kinda odd I suppose, is a glad plug in. It makes the hotel room smell more like home.

I'm a list person, and I start packing a month before hand, with the suitcase out, I just throw stuff in it as I think about it, and we forgot the cell phone charger, luckily we had the truck charger with us, since I used it daily to call home

I know i am going to forget something. For christmas this year, our stocking stuffers were alot of things we need for our trip. Shampoo, cond. Deodorant, new tooth brushes, floss, body wash, tooth paste. Things like that. so we are all set with that kind of thing. I knew i would forget them, because i use them everyday, and the day we leave i knew i would be out the door fast. But i know i am going to forget. I started to turn off the water for our washer machine after every use. After i read these boards. What else? 7 more days!!!!
I know, i still can't find any water shoes. Do they sell them this time of the year. I live in RI? New England, will i find them around here or will i have to wait and buy them in Florida?

Last year DH and I went kayaking and camping on the Delaware River. I was fully prepared for the long and very rainy weekend. DH forgot to pack underwear. I though it was hysterical and offered him a pair of mine. He tried to go without any...but after an hour was begging for a pair of mine. How does this relate to the DIS. Well, he ended up wearing my black yin yang mickey head panties. It was great!!!
I forgot my sons whole suitcase. Got all the way to the airport and didn't notice it missing until we waited on the check in line for 45 minutes. Needless to say we spent our whole first day at disney buying him all new clothes. Michelle

One thing I am trying not to forget to do for this year, remember to either have someone take care of your pets, if not going with you, or take to kennel. Hate to see how made they are if I forget this AGAIN.

We are leaving in 69 days, and I am having nightmares of forgetting everything. I recently had a dream where I actually started to cry (in real life) because I was down in Florida already, and my husband was still home (guess I forgot HIM), and I called him up begging him for all my PS numbers, and my itinerary!!!
I think the person who mentioned leaving a piece of paper out on your desk for a couple of weeks ahead of time, that is a GREAT tip. It really works. Actually ALL the tips are realy good. Just hope I don't have that dream tonight!!

Mars, 3l5, I've had those dreams too (or are they nightmares?)
Regarding the dog, I'd like to forget to pick my yellow lab up from the kennel when we're home from WDW..
a few more items to remember:
thermometer (hope you don't need it)
antacids (for all that great Disney food)
Tide tablets/dryer sheets if you do laundry there (mine just piles up)
gum (they don't sell in WDW)
Change your camera battery before you leave! Nothing ruins a good roll of vacation pictures like an old battery in your camera.

These are all great, i just remembered one for myself. My brushes, and a spare set of contacts and my glasses. I would hate to get there and i can't brush my hair. What a scary thought. Do you guys have anymore, this is great. It is helping out more than you know. I have on my kitchen table a list of things i am getting from the boards and what i am thinking up as i go along. This way the things that i am using up to the time i walk out the door i can just throw them in my overnight bag.

of what NOT TO FORGET:
Don't forget where you're going, who you're going with and why you are going there with them . :)
I know, it doesn't sound very practical, but if you remember not to forget those three simple things, you could forget nearly anything or everything else and still have a wonderful time.
You see, WDW is magical, but not all the magic is already there. Much of it you bring along when you come. And when you remember to bring YOUR portion of magic and the other guests each bring their portions and all the CM's contribute some, too, and the imagineers throw in a cupful or a bucketload of their magic, then the whole place fills up and everyone is transformed.
How do you think all these DISers became such Disneymaniacs anyway? Not all by themselves---and certainly not by remembering bandaids, spray deoderant and PS's :p

Did someone say your WATCH?
I am the most list oriented person going on vacation, yet I forgot my watch (yes I'm the same idiot that forgot her diabetic necklace). At least it was a different trip. Went to WM in Rapid City SD & picked up a new $9 watch (the one I left at home was an OLD $9 watch). In the summer heat my wrist had been getting a rash under my watch so I had it hooked on my purse-well I threw everything in a smaller purse that I really needed and left the watch on the old one!

Two years ago I forgot to pack my DH's underwear!!:D Thankfully they sold men's underware at the YC gift shop. It was however, $32 for 6 pairs of Ralph Lauren! We still laugh about it to this day!:)

Your Disney Club Card
One time my DH and I went by ourselves. I tried to pack really light since we didn't even have to worry about the kids things. Well, we went up to the ticket booth to buy our AP's, and I had forgotten my DC card. Luckily the CM was able to look up my number or something. We got the discount on the passes, but we could not use our DC for any other discounts.

I started making my packing list after reading this, we don't leave for 4 weeks. But a few things on my list that I didn't see here are: Noxzema, for that inevitable sunburned nose, ears, neck, feet etc. ; swim diapers for 2 yo DS, I can't imagine what they charge in the world, nail clippers (for my DS too) and the babywash for DS, wouldn't want to use regular shampoo for a week. We are also bringing his pillowcase & blanket with Blue's Clues on them.
