Debbie’s Watermelon Trip Report Day 5 AKA “What do you mean there’s another park besides Epcot?”
Cast of Characters: Debbie (Me), 21, full time college student, part time babysitter.
As you’ve been able to pick up from my first 4 days trip reports, I tend to spend most of my time in Epcot. Although today didn’t go exactly as planned, it was no different than the rest of the trip. My initial plan was to head to Downtown Disney to do some shopping and then head over to Epcot. I promise to keep this short, as it really isn’t much different than my previous days. J
However, after waiting for what seemed like an eternity for a bus (in actuality, 45 minutes), I gave up on the Downtown Disney idea – that can wait until Friday, a day when Off Kilter isn’t playing. J So, I came back in to my room, picked up my Off Kilter photo and took a slow walk over to Epcot.
After the park opened, I grabbed a mid-morning snack at the Fountain View bakery and just people watched. This is one of my favorite pastimes while in WDW – you get to see (and meet) so many people from so many different cultures and backgrounds.
Finally, once World Showcase opened at 12:00, guess where my first stop was? Actually, I took two walks around the lagoon before Off Kilter’s first show at 1:30 – it is such a pretty area that I love to just walk around Epcot.
So, after viewing the first Off Kilter show, I spent some time talking to the band members and finally got Randy to sign my photo – he had been out yesterday, so didn’t sign it when the rest of the band did. I can’t wait to go home and have the photo framed! I’ve been watching Off Kilter for a while now (okay, since January :) ), but I am a huge fan and am very happy to have this souvenir.
Rather than bore you with the rest of the day (I’m sure you can figure out where I spent the rest of the day!), I can tell you that I had a very good day. You could set me in World Showcase for a full day, and I’d be one happy camper. Watermelon! What do you mean there’s another park besides Epcot? More specifically, what do you mean there are other countries besides Canada, Italy and Germany? Wow! Where have I been?!?! :) Between Off Kilter, Masquerade (I have some CM friends that perform there) and ToD, I hardly ever leave those three countries.
With day 4 successfully over, tomorrow is just a few hours away. Will I attempt to make it to Downtown Disney again? Or, will I head over to the MK? Or will I just give up and spend the day in Epcot again? Stay tuned and find out where my next watermelon day lies!
