We have reservations for March 18th and we requested the 700 loop for our 40 ft motorhome. This loop is very helpful as we have a 16 yr old disabled son and it is close to the settlement. Should we call ahead to ask that we are actually given this loop and if so, when and where?

AG ...sorry can't answer your question but I also have a disabled dd and was going to ask you whenever you get back from the fort will you tell me which loop would be better for someone in a wheelchair 700 loop or 300 loop. If you don't mine report back and let us know. Thanks
I have heard you can fax your request 4 days before but hope someone else will chime in to confirm.

OOOPS! The number you want to call is:
Ft. Wilderness Front Desk
407-824-2900
They won't be able to look at your reservation at FtW until the 16th or 17th, so don't call until then. They've been very accomodating each time I've called them.

Terri - If I may chime in here.... 700 would be a little closer to Marina, Settlement Depot, Trading Post & Trail's End than 300 loop. I am assuming that you want a pet loop, too! Although, I know people who have told the front desk that their dogs were companion dogs & were placed in the 100 loop - which would be the closest.

Hehehe real quick side note...my doggie was suppose to be trained as a companion dog but he's so full of play he flunked out after not being able to quit jumping up in my dd lap day after day .

Last year we requested loop 300 because our son was in a wheelchair, it worked the year before pretty good, but a little walk to the settlement. Anyway, they gave us a 300 site this past year but we could not fit in it and they stated there was no other sites in the 300 loop. We ended up in 800 loop and it still worked out for us..

I'm arriving on March 15th. I called down last Saturday (2/23) to request a loop and was told I had to wait until 7 days prior to arrival. I know others on here have requested much in advance of 7 days, but I plan on calling again this Saturday and then the morning of the 15th. Hope this gets me where I prefer.

Do you they not have the special line at CRO for special medical needs anymore? They used to have one when I worked at CRO, if there was anyone who needed a specific location at any resort or special room accomodations for medical or disability reasons, we would transfer them to that line. I will have to ask DS when he gets home from work.
I know I used that phone line when I made ressies back in 1993 for my dad and my family when he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and wanted to have one last trip to WDW, they made sure we had connecting rooms at CB and were close to the food court and bus stop since he couldn't walk far.

Just spoke with DS and he said that the Special Request line can't do anything for FW, so if you need anything special, you would need to request with FW at about 5 days prior to arrival.
