Do all rooms in the AB section of POR have trundle beds? Do they charge extra for the trundle bed? We're a family of four going in July but kids are DS 13 yrs. and DD 8 yrs. Son doesn't want to share a bed with his little sister so if we had a room with a trundle she could sleep on that. If I request a room in the AB section, am I guaranteed to get a trundle? I don't want to have to pay extra for the trundle. Anyone know?

When I made my reservation, I was told there was a $15 charge for the trundle.

This is a good question because I made reservations for 5 in a room for our April trip and they made no mention of an extra change for a trundle bed, yet our neighbors, who will be there for 3 days during our stay, got charged the extra $15.

I guess we'll just play it by ear when we get there.

We stayed in an AB room in Jan with 4, and used the trundle bed without being charged. I think the $15 charge is for an extra person (5). Sometimes we have been charged the fee for an extra person and sometimes we have lucked out and had it waived. I think it's just the luck of the draw.

Keep in mind that your room location is not guaranteed; with 4 people in your party you can request AB, but they will not guarantee it.

Good luck, and enjoy your stay!

Isn't the AB section the only part of PO-R open right now? I thought that was the case.

Also, anyone hear if the boat from to DD is indeed resuming?

Thanks

We stayed at POR in the AB section in May 2001, and were given a room with a trundle bed at no extra cost.

Also, I read on www.intercot.com that the Sassgoula boat ride to DD will be resuming, most likely no later than March 24th.

Have fun; you'll love POR!

This is how the trundle fee was explained to me: If you request a room with a trundle, you are charged the extra $15.00/night. If you get a room in AB with a trundle and use it, there is no charge. We have stayed at AB 6 times in the last few years and have always gotten a trundle. I can't verify that all AB roms have them though.

We have stayed at POR in AB section many times and every room we have ever gotten has always had a trundle bed and we were never charged for it. I have requested AB section with only 3 people and we have always gotten a room in this section with no problem.

There is a trundle in every AB room that has 2 double beds. We also have stayed in AB rooms many times and have never been charged for the trundle. I don't even bring it up when we check in! :D

Thanks everyone for the replies. Like I first posted, we will only have four in our room, but son and daughter don't want to sleep in the same bed. So that means either my DH and I each get to sleep with one of the kids or if we have a room with a trundle, DD can sleep on it and DS can have the bed to his self like he wants!
