I see all these threads about bags and shoes, but let's give the hats some love! I'm looking for a new one. I love my current one (http://www.sundayafternoons.com/?id=462111825917&d=single&item_id=WH-CR&c=Women's_Hats&sc=Outdoor_Active&nr=&pc=) but I can't stick it in my bag if I'm not wearing it (wire brim).

I also have a huge head (hat size 7 5/8... almost 24") so it's hard to find ones that fit. That one is actually a tad more snug than I like.

Any suggestions?

I LOVE all of my cheap visors!!! I can get them in lots of colors (about 1.99 at a "mart" store). When I'm not wearing them, I can loop them around my fanny pack strap or baggallini strap.

DS9 & DS wear baseball caps. I CANNOT wear these, I wish I could, there are so many cute ones at WDW.

DD9 wears a cute bucket hat with Tink or Minnie Mouse on it and it keeps the sun off of her ears as well as face.

DD13 is usually too cool to wear any type of hat. Occassionally, she find a cute baseball one or maybe even a visor - since it's okay in softball, it's okay in WDW, I reason.

I'm a baseball cap girl. Got to keep that sun off the face. For our June trip I'm thinking about one of those vented caps, like this:

I usually get too hot in hats. But I like to take a canvas boat-style hat with me just in case I need it. Although I do like that baseball cap that the PP posted about - it actually looks like it wouldn't be too hot to wear.

In the parks I usually wear various bandanas. My hair is thin and I have to cover my head or I get terrible scalp burn.

Good question. I actually want to find a base ball cap for DS-5. In particular I want to get one personalized to say Birthday Boy. But i haven't found a place that does that yet. I was also wondering if thay make baseball caps with mickey ears? Anyone know?

I posted this on a different thread a few days ago. My mom is ordering them for our trip in August and it sounds great:

It's a floppy hat with gel in it that is reactivated to keep your head cool just by running it under water.

I tried a visor on my last trip and really liked it! It was made of canvas fabric (nice and cool), and was joined together with velcro. Not only was it adjustable, to fit any head size, but when I wasn't wearing it, I just hooked it around the strap of whatever I was wearing (backpack, fanny pack, etc.) so it was out of the way, but accessible. It worked great, and was very comfortable (not like the ones that sort of fit onto your head with a "headband" - they often pinch and give you a headache.)

I made sure to get one with a large brim. They make smaller ones, but they don't really shade your face much, so what's the point?

I hardly EVER wear hats, but I'll definitely have my Dodgers baseball hat in tow!!!

Good ideas, thanks! That cooling hat looks like it would be a little too snug for my big ol' head, neat idea though! I may have to look into the visor thing. I'm really pale and both my parents have had skin cancer so I am always extra careful.

DS usually wears this one (http://www.columbia.com/Product.aspx?top=6&p=8184&cat=630&viewAll=False) but it's getting a little tight (he inherited my head).
