I know in another thread some were saying certain spots in Windsor Palms were stinky. Is there any issue like that in Windsor Hills? Looking at their map they have a dry retention pond. What is that and should villas near there be avoided? Or is all of Windsor Hills great?

The dry retention pond is just a big field. If your home backs onto this then you won't have any neighbors in your back yard. :thumbsup2
We've stayed in WH 3 times and there isn't any place that's bad. If you don't want to be back to back with another home then try for one that backs on the field or lake. We were in the Reserve section the last time and back to back with another home but it wasn't too close, no problem. There's not any outside problems. If you rent in the reserve section there might be construction going on near you.

The place I'm looking at is on Sir Kaufman Court and from the pic of the pool in the back it looks like it backs onto a low wall.
What are the reserves?
It's good to know that pretty much any place is good though :)

There are no places that are truly objectionable like being next to the sewage/water treatment plant. If you're on Sir Kaufman facing south (which you must be because that's where the wall is) then you have a south facing splash pool which is a nice benefit. We rented a townhome there ourselves on the south of Sir Kaufman at the west end, end unit, twice, and absolutely loved it! We overlooked Mystic Dunes (past the wall) to the south, and the dry retention pond area to the west (which is really just a big open grassy field) and had a great 2 trips to that particular townhome!

Thanks for the info! I booked the place last night and am very excited. Our trip isn't until Dec. but it is nice to have a place finally booked so I can stop obsessing about where to rent :surfweb:
Now I just have to obsess about whether to get hoppers or not, where to make ADR's, what days to go to what parks...
