If money was not a concern........
What type of Savanah view room would you choose based on the view from your room and NOT on amenities or services provided?
Standard Savanah View Room
Deluxe Savanah View Room
Concierge Savanah View Room
and why?
This will help me decide if I want to upgrade our room or not.
Thanks

Based on view only, I'd go with a standard savannah view room. I've been on both the 3rd floor and the 5th floor - concierge level. It was nice having the bigger room. But if animal viewing is what you're basing your choice on, request a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor so you can be closer to the animals. You're going to love it!

concierge savannah for sure...we were on the 5th floor arusha savannah/kudos trail side. Our view was excellent...we saw more than enough animals...most of them just a little ways from our balcony.
The service and in room treats were wonderful...the concierge lounge snack treats/drinks are very good.
I would love to do this again soon.

last time I asked a CM at CRO about the difference, all I heard was that the price difference correlates to the size of the room. Savannah view is savannah view

There are differences in views in that concierge rooms are 5th and 6th floor only. Also, having a concierge room does not guarantee savannah view, there are a few rooms that are pool view. I've never seen anyone on the boards request savannah and get pool, but it is a possibility. I believe that non-concierge deluxe savannah rooms are also only on certain floors, but I may be wrong about that.
We had a wonderful view from the 5th floor, Zebra Trail. I highly recommend Zebra Trail, as Arusha Rock Savannah is the only place to see both zebra and giraffe. But if we go again, we'll probably skip concierge and ask for a second floor room--I think it would be great to see the animals from that level.

Well, if you call CRO and ask a CM to clarify it for you, you'll probably hear the same response. The views are the same, what makes some savannah view rooms pricier is their sizes, and all the nice benefits that concierge brings about...

If I understand the question correctly, it is asking which rooms are preferable based on view alone.
The views are not really the same since you can't get a 2nd floor view (which it seems most find preferable) when you book concierge--concierge rooms are 5th and 6th floor only. You may not even be able to get a savannah view when you book concierge.
I thought we had a wonderful view on the 5th floor, but next time I'd like to be closer to the animals, so I'd book standard savannah and request 2nd floor.

Are we saying that a deluxe savannah concierge room is larger than a deluxe savannah room?
I didn't see that difference noted anywhere.

No, they're the same size. All concierge rooms are deluxe rooms.

I understood the question was, among savannah views, what is the difference between prices...
If that is so, the price difference is merely based on the size of the room because a savannah view is a savannah view. Even if you did not notice extra few square feet, Disney surely did.
And in any case, if anyone could not beleive it and thinks that a deluxe savannah view brings more giraffes closer to your window just ask a CM at CRO and they'll tell you that the price is solely based on viewing room size.

No they aren't. We were in a concierge standard savannah view room last December, and it was NOT a deluxe. There were only two of us, so it didn't really matter.

ducklite--that's interesting because the room we were in was so small that I couldn't believe it was a deluxe. And I couldn't imagine the standard room being smaller. I asked the concierge sitting at the computer in the lounge about it and she told me that all concierge rooms are deluxe. Maybe we really were put in a standard room.

Yes, the price difference is based on the size of the room, as well as concierge or non-concierge. The view difference is based on what floor your room is on and what savannah your room overlooks. What floor you're on may be determined by what type of room you book.

This is ludicrous. If anyone wants to clarify, just call CRO directly, I am ready to give up on this one. Savannah view is savannah view, wherever they plant you. The fact that some rooms are higher than others does NOT increase the price of the savannah view rate. And this I inquired about and received a confirmation right from a CM who asked her supervisor while I was waiting on hold!!
Deluxe savannah price only refers to a rate for larger rooms. NOT a better view! Concierge is likewise, you pay for the extras, NOT a different savannah view.
You may get a room on higher level but you don't have to pay an extra penny for that. Only if you are getting concierge or deluxe size rooms! And if fact, choosing a higher or lower floor is a matter of preference.

So, what is the size difference between standard and deluxe? Is it a noticeable difference? I'm used to having a DVC studio or 1-bedroom suite. Should I go with the deluxe to lessen the cramped feeling, or should I save my money (DVC points, actually).
Thanks

This is not what I said. Yes, savannah view is savannah view, wherever they put you and the price is the same for standard savannah view, no matter where that is.
I never said that you can pay more money to get a better savannah view. In fact, the opposite. I personally think the better views would be in the standard savannah rooms. That's just my opinion, which is what the original poster was asking for, others may disagree and give their reasons why so the poster can make his or her decision.

Again, I did not say that you can pay different prices to get different savannah views.
The question was "What type of Savanah view room would you choose based on the view from your room and NOT on amenities or services provided?"
The type of savannah view you get at AKL MAY be determined by which type of room you book. If you book concierge, you will get a 5th or 6th floor room. You will not get a 2nd, 3rd or 4th floor room, unless it's under special circumstances, such as what happened with Preshi when they moved her from the Poly. Likewise, with the deluxe savannah view rooms, I believe those are also only on certain floors, but I'm not sure of that so someone would have to ask about it specifically.
If someone was asking which room is the best for viewing animals, I would say that if you want to see the animals up close from the lower levels, you should not book a concierge room. If view is the most important factor to you, above amenities and services, in my opinion the concierge rooms do not have the best view. They don't even have a guaranteed savannah view.
So the type of room you book does matter if view is your most important factor. Of course CRO is going to say that all savannah view rooms are the same, but that's a generalization. My comments were independent of how much the various rooms cost. Obviously I'm not explaining myself very well so maybe someone can step in and do a better job of it.
