Thanks for starting the new thread - the picture on the old one is priceless - what a good looking crew.

We just returned from diving - boy it is cold. Barkley - you have me beat but it is colder in the water - trust me.

Bruch at Paolos is to die for - go hungry - take your time - savour everything enjoy much. I'll check and see if I have any pics I can post - it is an experience - .....

We have booked Paolos and brunch for Panama Canal but no high tea - we will see what opens up on baord. Booking was terrible - 4 hours and still no Paolos- the system must have shut down, all we saw was fishes. Still the next morning I was able to grab dinner.

OK - back to my heater....

Yes, our friends told me they had troubles getting things as well. They said the system had shut down:confused3 I've peeked in on your site and my goodness it's HUGE! Do you post? I only read through a few. You have a wonderful group and I can only imagine HOW much FUN you'll all have:banana:

Thanks for the brunch tips. I don't even remember seeing it last time:upsidedow But, then again, I was changing diapers and praying for 5 min to myself:faint:

Oh I miss diving:cool2: I did so much of it when I lived on St John. But, the water was warm:thumbsup2

Glad you found the new thread! I'm sure the others will find us die heartspirate:

Thanks Kim for linking me here. I am trying to decide if I should change my screen name since I have a prince who is a year old now! No Disney cruises planned for now - Haley is wishing for her 5th birthday - which is July 5th - mucho dinero!!!!!!!

Where's the nurse - on vacation in the Swiss Alps or something????? :dance3:

DIS NURSE

No.............not quite the Swiss Alps, but close! Did I tellyou all that DH and I went road biking through France last fall? Surely i told you.......left the kids for the first time and traveled abroad for over two weeks.......then one month later did our third 7 night Magic (same itinerary as 2005).

That was once again a wonderful DCL experience but I knew as we getting off the ship that we have to wait until the new ships are built for me to book us again. AND FOR GOODNESS SAKES THE SHOWS NEED TO CHANGE! DCl has so much repeat business that it shocks me they don't chnage them up a little. I man there were a few tweeks in Twice Charmed, but that was about it! We even saw the same darned live stage entertainers! AGH!:scared:

Loved the cruise and our shore excursions on St. Thomas and St. Maarten! Went to St. John finally and then over to the French side of St. M to the NUDY:scared1: beach! Orient beach was lovely!:thumbsup2

We leave now in three weeks back to the Riveria Maya area south of Cancun! Great all inclusive resort in Playacar, near playa del Carmen.

Get this.......just bought airline tickets for this coming Thanksgiving to go to La Paz, Mexico (Baja) and sail with friends on a 43 foot yacht/catamaran for a week in the Sea of Cortez! Woo-hoo! You divers can be proud of us that this summer we'll become dive certified and begin that sport as well. We are going with a friend who used to own and sail a yacht out of La Paz, knows all the ropes, and is an experienced diver. Should be an adventure!:woohoo:

Until then...........DIS NURSE has some serious overtime shifts to pull to catch up to her appetite for vacations!:cool1:

Too cool some of you are rebooked for upcoming re-visits to the Magic! I hope you say hi to her for me...........I will miss her if i never sail on her again..........I would even choose her over one of their new ships if she had a different itinerary and shows! I am guessing the new ships will come out with some serious pricetags!? Maybe the magic is all that we can justify financially and I will get to see her again. I did notice this last November that she is looking tired. That ship has seen a lot of use and abuse!:confused3

Talk to you soon...............

Morning All - when I have time, I'll see if we can publish some of our infor for the first cruise on the first page of this thread --- Somewhere I have the list - and maybe one or two of the key photographs. I think it needs to be edited into the starting post - beu we can work on that.

I am thinking of the names, the photo with us wearing our green bracelets, that type of thing......

Glad to see you all:scared1:

We are all finished up with our planning for our next Magic cruise:cool1: I'm really looking forward to seeing her again:lovestruc Our friends are bringing her back for the 15 day trip:scared1: Not sure I could do that one, without being in the Royal Suite with 3 bedrooms, and the butler:cool2:

Just after we return, we will begin packing for Hawaii:beach: Rented a condo right on the beach of Kauai. Looking forward to seeing the Napali Coast, and some diving as well. I can finally add that to my book:thumbsup2 We are also going 'tubing' down a river:cool1: It's been some time since I've been in the water. The last was Catalina, and it's so beautiful there. But, nothing will ever compare to living on St John, with all it's warm water:woohoo:

Disnurse: what did you do while you where on St. John?

I'd like to ask you all what was the one thing you wish could have done while on the Magic, that you didn't get to do! For me, ummmm, I'd like to take a swim in the adult pool:laughing: I know, it's a simple request:sad2:

hello all-gotta post so i can keep up to date on all your adventures!

no trips planned for us though we did do a week at disneyland last month. dh had a freebie round trip voucher for alaska/horizon (when he got bumped from his flight home from victoria b.c.) so we used our dvc points and took advantage of safeway's hopper promotion (buy a 3 day/get 2 additional nites free) and ran away. it was nice to see sunshine again-and we got to take advantage of the big $$$$$'s google spent to entertain their employees when they rented out and closed magic kingdom one weeknite. while we obviously could'nt get in, we could clearly see from our hotel balcony the massive fireworks and lazer light show they popped for:thumbsup2

the one thing i wish i could have done on our '05 magic trip? taken up permanant residence in the spa. daily hot rock massages, those nice big showers, the orange flavored water, soft soothing music-and those killer heated stone tile lounging chairs:love:   they need to just rename the place 'the mom's club' and let us check ourselves in and stay all day:love:

Oh, Kauai is killer! Where are you staying? We stayed near the Coconut Marketplace and it was awesome. We had to make almost daily visits to the Guava plantation for more strawberry guava juice (to mix with vodka) - Yum! The helicopter tour we did was fanastic and the catamaran snorkeling deal was pretty darn nice, too. It's just such a laid back island, it's just about perfect for me ;)

My latest list was pre-hurricane and someone else updated it for me. I cannot seem to find the actual list - but this is a start....also I think I need to find the photo and add it to a link so you can post that as well.

We are staying on the South shore. We got a really nice condo right on the beach with a really great pool.

Doing a catamaran/snorkeling raft trip:woohoo: I'll have to find the Guava Plantation and check it out. I'll have one for you;)

We can access the Navy Facility on the West coast too. We were hoping to get the cottages over there, but there all booked. But, we can still get on the base and check out there beaches:cool2:

Guava Kai Plantation was the one we visited. I don't remember exactly where it was at, but much closer to the north shore than the south. I remember driving by, or stopping at, the shave ice place in Kapaa alot :)

We also did an intro dive when we were there. We dove in the same spot that the catamaran snorkel tour took us (Koloa Landing). The dive was more fun 'cause I got to bring a fiancée back to the surface.

I'm still trying to picture the catamaran raft... How does that work?

I think I may need to come with you to show you how to properly make the strawberry-guava drink :)

We have been fortunate to have visited Kauai three times. The first was the more tourist oriented activity. The second two trips we stayed in the State Park in Waimea Canyon and hiked.

We took an auto-tour - there are great guidebooks at the airport - my hint is to grab one of everything. I recommend a venture into Waimea Canyon as well as the helicoptor tours. The Kauai'i Museum is much worth a trip as well.

Go to the Lilauea Point National Wildlife REfuge and Lighthouse and look at the frigatebirds and albatross.

We were not diving then, but I want to go back now.

eek, almost forgot - the Kuaii Brewing Company - great Beer - try the IPA.....yea.....what does it smell like AWOL - BEER....

And the coffee - yummy ---- sigh!!!!

Have fun...

And since we are giving tips - Mabye you can help with our upcoming cruise - we are taking the Magic to the Panama Canal - We will have many sea days.

Barkley - yes, I did listen and have a hot stone massage on the list.....But what else must we do? I want to watch a movie under the stars, and in the LBV theatre. I am not yet tired of the shows and formal night so that will be fun.

But fess, up , what are the secrets that we need to know --- Panama Canal Day I am planning on reading - we have the book The Path to the Sea - and will try not to fight over it.

So, hints please - We did book brunch - but High Tea was all booked up.

:rotfl2: I bet it tastes like beer too!

Don't forget your nuts - Muana Loa macadamia nuts!

And for sea days, I recommend talking a friend into a cat 3 upgrade. This makes a very nice place to hang out and much more cost effective than doing it yourself. If that doesn't work out there's always the deck 7 aft or just hangin' by the pool (or Diversions :drinking1 ). I'm guessing that you'll be plenty busy with just Diser events!

Another note - MOON publishes Hawaii Island Guides - there is an All-Island Guide and Guides for some of the islands seperately.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GUIDEBOOK...

It provides great summaries of the history and culture of the island and out of the way spots to visit, even some hawaiian words and common phrases.

A must have book...(at least in my opinion....)

you might find that with more sea days they will have more activities schedualed than on the other cruises. when we did the 7 day that had to get re-routed and cancel stops because of a hurricane there were more schedualed things than on the regular 7 day. dh and i went to a couple of the cooking presentations-those were pretty interesting, they had several spa presentations as well. one thing i'de probably take along is my laptop or portable dvd player and kick back and watch stuff i'de been planning on but had'nt gotten around to (did this when we spent a couple of days on amtrack last year-got one of those full season releases of a tv show at the rental place back home).

i can't remember the name of the place, but back by the area where the ship sold their liquor and cigars was an adults only bar that had a very relaxed atmosphere. we went there several evenings and realy enjoyed listening to the music-it was generaly some low key jazz.

if you enjoyed the hot stone massage and have'nt tried the heated tile lounging chairs in the spa-they are awsome. dh and i both end up popping for one of those duration of the cruise unlimitted use passes for the use of the spa stuff (if for no other reason-i think the showers in there are so much better than the ones in the staterooms, much roomier and better water pressure. on the formal nights one of us used the room shower and the other used the spa shower making for getting ready much easier).

give a call to one of the concierge desks at one of the hotels in the area you're staying-even if you're not staying at a hotel you can access great information and maybe even find out about some activities at the area hotels that are available to non guests (when we stayed in maui the hyatt had an anstronomer who did star gazing sessions on the hotel roof with these massive telescopes-non guests of the hotel could reserve spots for only a couple of bucks more than the guests paid). we also got some good info. on scuba for dh by directly contacting some of the area padi certified shops and by dh hitting some internet scuba boards for the area-he found out which dives were the best, which to avoid-and which of the charter companies were preferred by the locals who use them most often:thumbsup2

We should get everybody together, have a little mutiny on the Magic, and sail her to Hawaii!!! pirate: Don't get me started on the Passenger Vessels Services Act!

The Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886 (sometimes abbreviated to PVSA, Passenger Services Act, or PSA) is a piece of United States legislation which came into force in 1886 relating to cabotage. Essentially, it says:

No foreign vessels shall transport passengers between ports or places in the United States, either directly or by way of a foreign port, under a penalty of $300 for each passenger so transported and landed.
Any vessel subject to the Jones Act counts as a US vessel. Under the Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886, 46 App. U.S.C. § 289, foreign-flagged vessels cannot transport passengers directly between U.S. ports. The handful of U.S.-flagged cruise ships in operation are registered in the U.S. to permit cruises between the Hawaiian Islands, or from the continental U.S. to Hawaii. The Passenger Services Act, however, does not prohibit foreign-flagged ships departing from and returning to the same U.S. port. Nor does it prohibit foreign-flagged ships departing from a U.S. port, visiting a foreign port, and then continuing to a second U.S. port. However, in order to embark in a US port and disembark in a second US port, the vessel must visit a port outside of the USA. Nor does it prevent a ship from taking on passengers at a U.S. port and then returning them to another U.S. city by ground or air, or vice-versa.

Ok - so what is so strang about this?????
I must use cabotage at least three times a day in a sentence:lmao: So what it it? rotten cabbage:rotfl:

I don't know if this link will work... But, the short story is NCLA was whining about other cruiselines violating the PVSA by making ghost stops in ensenada on their way to Hawaii. They claim that is unfair competition. So, the proposed new rule would require longer stays in the foreign port (48 hours AND more than 50% of the total time spent in US ports). This will be a problem for a lot of cruises other than the hawaii cruises. IF they put it into effect as proposed, New England & Alaska cruises, and possibly others will be messed up. If this is put into service before we cruise, we might be in for some sort of major last minute change, or cancellation, to our cruise. So, I'm paying attention anyways... And not real happy about the source of changes...

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=687517

If the link doesn't work, you can probably google "PVSA Update This is NOT Good" and find the link.

The changes won't make any difference to anything Disney is currently doing...

You all are all too funny and sick in the head!:thumbsup2 Leave it to the old crew to keep up the spirits and ventures about!
We, too, are looking forward to going to other Hawiian islands someday.......although we love the Big island, we are tired of it and need to explore some more. Did I mention that my brother lives on Maui and works for Marriott?............one of the "higher" ups in the co.!
I need to take advantage of that fact!
Maybe next Spring Break!?

Our sailing partners in crime the last two DCL's just informs me tonight that he doesn't think he can wait until 20011 and 2012 until the new ships are built!................he thinks we should go again sooner! AWE.... TWIST MY ARM! I would love to sail again with DCL and the trip itself now is a no-brainer! I do wish there would be something different about it though.............maybe there will be by 2009/2010?

Less than 10 days and counting until DIS NURSE and family are on the beaches of Playa del Carmen!:woohoo: So excited to get out of this wintery weather and go to Mexico!!!!!

Oh.....to answer someone's question about what we did on St. John........that is a story in of itself! One which DCl was so apologetic and actually REFUNDED OUR $$$$$ for that excursion!...............it was a DCL excursion from St. Thomas to St. John (supposedly) and this weird stand-in boat crew took us out on a catamaran and sailed AROUND St. John but never actually brought us there! It was one weird excuse and story after another and the whole thing didn't add up (excuses about wind, weather, etc. when it was a beautiful, sunny and calm day out onthe seas!). Other providers brought their patrons to St. John to snorkel, etc. also booked through DCL that day and we investigated the whole thing.....bringing compaints after that fact to the shore excursions desk and bringing it to their attention. They we agast:scared1: at the co. that did this to us and gave us our $$$$ back! DCL was embarrased to say the least and will never use them again, so they say!

I have always wanted to go to St. John and STILL have never quite made it there! ..........although we tried hard!

So, anyone up for DCL Thanksgiving 2009? I am trying to find out dates and quotes but not sure they are out yet?
We are thinking about it........

Switching out St. Maarten for St. Croix or Tortola isn't enough? :cheer2:

Happy Easter EVeryone/.

We had a beautiful Easter time.

Friday was somber services before heading to the grocery store for the makings of Easter dinner. And while I had all good intentions of posting on Saturday, the flurry of house cleaning, followed by rain, took all my time. I finally completed part of the new curtains and pillows for the porch so I could put away the sewing machine....Admittedly while the house was presentable, the spare room is full of the leftovers I did not get to pick up and put away.

The orchids were cooperating, we had 7 gorgeous bloomers. Our friends came over to color eggs and then for dinner. The fire was not to be, due to the rain.

Easter Morning we were up early and over to the island for church and breakfast. Saw our friends briefly as we dogge raindrops out of the church. Picked up Mother and it was still raining. Hot cross buns and a cup of tea were welcome when we made it home, to warm her up. She gave us the cutest gift (not a bsket) - egg cups with llitle chicks inside and egg plates so that we can have our boiled eggs and soldiers. How cute.

And more rain.....Sam grilled the best steelhead trout for dinner with baby carrots, asparagras, home made bread and pasta....yummy. All too son it was over.

I hope you all had a beautiful day as well.

Oh, forgot to mention, used Sam's EAster Basket as the time to tell Mother were were heading to the PC - a friendhip flag pin for hislanyard was a give away....

See YA!!!!

Hey Guys!!!!!!! How the he!! are ya????

It appears everyone is doing well! YEA!! And,,, I see we have a new home! Glad I found ya'll - thanks for posting the link! I can't believe it's been almost a year since I posted - see that's what happens when you're in the beach rental business - time evaporates!!!!:upsidedow

It's been busy here, thus preventing communicado! Been on a few adventures - DH and I sailed with friends on the Carnival ship that leaves from the port right beside our house. We were on board and sipping those umbrella drinks less than 2 hours after we pulled out of our drive way (over an hour was spent going through security - yuk). Too cool!! When we sailed by our house as we left port - it was sooo neat!!:cool1: Plus we got the whole enchilada for only $612 TOTAL - and yes, that was an outside gorgeous cabin with a huge picutre window for 5 wonderful nights! We will be doing that again!

Also, made several Disney trips - what can I say,, when you're hooked,, you're hooked!! Went back to our little island off of Mexico for a week and recovered from a looooong summer. Now,, I've blinked and a new summer is right around the corner. But,,, I honestly think my favorite trip was with my 3best friends to NYC. We were all turning 40 - so 4 girls, spending 4 days, celebrating their 40th b'day in NYC!! :cutie:

Barkley,, I take it your dd is doing well?? PrincessHailey's Mom - a new name,, huh?? Well, DS can't quite read yet.. right?? So you have a little more time to think of a new name:goodvibes I saw JayPD was still alive - cool!!!:woohoo: Awol - you're still just as handsome as ever!! CD&F how is your mom?? I remember you were taking care of her,, right?? 4Campers - Kaui is soooo my favorite island - can I go????????? And,, finally,, my good buddy -DisNurse!!! I'm suprised you and DH haven't climbed Mt. Everest by now! I can't wait to hear about your recent trip!

The reason I logged on tonight was in hope of finding a place to stay near Seaworld - we're doing Discovery Cove - soooooooo excited about that:dance3: next month. I know Disney like the back of my hand,,, but the seaworld area is a newbie to me. Anyone have suggestions??

It's so awesome you guys are still out there!!:grouphug:

Maybe, Alaska again. RCCL has a 14 day that starts up there and ends here in SD. But, 14 days sounds like a long trip for me??? Or, maybe, Europe??

We had a nice (4) day trip with RCCL this week. The food was excellent! Kids club rocked! I had many good hours of pool time and a cold one:cool2:

The slide is pretty cool and is NOT restricted to children only. But, I never went on it. :(

Ah, we're trying to figure out the same thing. We are supposed to go to Hawaii and stay at my Mom's timeshare next year. But, the airfare alone may kill that one. And we are trying to decide if we want to do a cheapo/quickie cruise sooner than later or save up for something really cool. I really want to do the Panama Canal. I also want to do a South American trip - around Cape horn and the glaciers would be really cool. I saw RCL was sending Mariner of the Seas that direction for it's repositioning to the west coast, too. And, NO, I don't think 14-15 days is too long for a cruise!

RCCL's 4 day is the one that hits Catalina, right? Did you bother getting off the ship anywhere? I only ask 'cause I probably wouldn't and I haven't been on a 7 day Mexico recently ;)

Hi there! Yes, we talked with the woman about the Mariner coming. It looks like a beautiful ship! Just wish is would go to somewhere a bit different, as we have just been there. But it's easy to get to from home and Mexico isn't so bad. There are so many beautiful areas down there. We are looking into renting a Villa next year for 10 days. We may just do it! Comes with kayaks, cook etc!

Yes, we went to Catalina. We love it there. We use to go before children!! Did get off and walked all around and had an ice cream! Didn't get off in San Diego. DH did to meet with a friend and they walked all around. Got off in Esenada and did a tour of the blow hole. Fun and the girls loved it!

Oh Hawaii....yes, we were suppose to have been there this summer, but ATA went belly up. We can stay over there on Oahu on the base and it's not bad. But, like you said the flight would be way tooooooo much now.

The South America trip sounds awesome! Lot's to choose from! We just have to work around doing everything in the summer now. Can't take the girls out from school any more! I got away with it this year. But, that was extra special as it was the Magic:thumbsup2

I promised a trip report and pictures and only 2 months later - here we go. My plan (hah) is to post these one a day following the days of the week we cruised. We will see - I forgot the passwords this morning.

This year I kept a journal and then typed the resulting scribbles for my scrapbook. The posted pics are from that album (not finished yet, so this trip report will be a challenge).

This is Friday - May 9th....enjoy. As you can see, someone is impatient to get started...And is that countdown timer at 00000....This one Barkley - the REAL Barkely, will enjoy.

PRE-BOARDING **** COCOA BEACH
May 9, 2008 - The day began with coffee and the paper in bed. After the last minute packing, Todd drove us to Russo's for lunch and the rental car pick-up. A short time later and we were in Cocoa Beach at Quality Suites. A hastily grabbed coupon saved us $10, thanks to the nice staff. The accommodations were two rooms, a true suite outfitted with Spring Break freebies. We walked to the beach, Ron Jons and the "First Aid Lifeguard Bar & Grill. Our plans of visiting our favourite Irish Pub were scrubbed in favours of a walk and snack nearby. No holiday would be completed without champagne and no sail-away complete without a call from Jim.
TOMORROW THE MAGIC.

PS - Jim is one of the Dissers from our 2006 cruise....

Well, you cannot post a trip report a day when the home computer acts up and you forget the day one scan...so that I will not get further behind, here is Day 2...Day 1 will be posted later...sorry and all that....

You will note a Cast/Crew member of the day. I started that with this trip so I would remember all the magical staff at the end of the trip. Also, for CC this was the first time we tried the Hike and Kayak adventure.

DAY 2 **** CASTAWAY CAY
May 11, 2008 - After receiving gorgeous set of clear emerald earrings last night, Sam woke me with coffee. We headed to the gym for a work-out (5 mile walk for me) and then the breakfast buffet. Our CC excursion was hiking and kayaking. While we waited we watched Chip & Dale hand out towels to the departing castaways.
Joey was our guide, a good time but you could tell summer is here. We strolled rather than hiked and listed to her explain the history of the island and the native Lucayans. We boarded the kayaks and headed to the mangroves and a stop at a private beach before paddling back through rough at the end of the tour. We made it to Cookies BBQ and a beer at Heads-Up and Conched Out Bars. Before the chow, Chip & Dale entertained the crowd. Tonight was a hypnotist - so funny, paper napkins became dollar bills. Dinner was Lumieres complete with the Beast and Belle. Pieter had hot sauce and milk on the table, ready without asking. His knowledge of classical music is superb. Tonight, time for bed. CAST MEMBER OF THE DAY = Pieter S. Africa - Assistant Server.

I interrupt this serious chatting to bring you a trip report for Day 1 - Sail Away from the Port to the West Coast through the Panama Canal. A trip of a lifetime! Thanks to those on shore who posted the pics of the Magic sailing.

DAY 1 **** PORT CANAVERAL
May 10, 2008 - The morning began with a call from GaRRy to wish us happy sails. The power outage was unexpected, oh well. After dropping off the KIA, we were shuttled to the gate; checked in and waited to board, #2. We met some new Disney Fans while waiting which seemed to stretch forever. But soon, we heard "Welcome aboard". Side stops to check reservations, wine tasking and tours came next, met more Dis-Fans at lunch in Parrot Cay. Our room was ready at 1:30 so we started unpacking before heading to the gym for a ½ mile walk. The luggage arrived when we returned so we packed between lifeboat drills - "Station T". The first time a station was spot on - no missing folks. A glass of champagne for Capt'n Mickey before SAIL AWAY, complete with red streamers. The Captain did not like the little boats blocking the harbour, such an angry sounding horn. We met Yusep at Quite Cove Bar, he was on the 2005 and 2006 MAGIC. A rush back to the cabin to clean up for the 6:15 show - the entertainment will be a hoot for this cruise. And yes, the mandatory souvenir T shirts and post cards. Dinner was in PC, Pieter and Adrienne are our servers; nice kids and very friendly and efficient. No tablemates yet.
CAST MEMBER OF THE DAY = Ian - Activities.

Hey scarey one! I'm home for just 5 mins, then off to do traffic crossing duty at the school!

A new puppy!! oooooooo, can we see a picture?

Yes, we are going to Mexico again this year! Just really nice to not have to fly anywhere. The Mariner is coming to California now, so we are looking forward to seeing her.

We did DL durning Dec. and had such a great time! Stayed at Disney Hotel and did all the birthday stuff for 4 days!

Are you going this week? Gosh, we should come up and see you:scratchin

Hello to everyone!

Hi folks - we have another November cruise planned this year....As stated, great not to fly - the Magic will be in Port Canveral then.

We had a nice pre-Christmas trip to WDW - I love Candlelight - and the Osborn Lights are neat as well.

No new puppy (or kitty) (or birdie) for us. Does the turtle that fell in the pool count?

Meanwhile, I have not figured out how to retire and continue to cruise, so must spend 5+ days a week at work. But, folks are nice and the rewards are --- well Crusin' to say the least.

Happy New Year All..

Well, we are supposed to head that way tonight. But, the pup is having issues (undoubtedly related to his eating tons of stuff that he shouldn't). So, the whole trip may be off :(

If you didn't make soup, it counts! :rotfl2:

Good Luck Dis Nurse - and howdy everyone....There is a reason Disney suggests not bookign flights that early - you "might" make it, if the ship docks and time and it is not the only time that passengers are not held back - we all know the stories. You could try a taxi (no clue the price) and you might make it, if there is not traffic-accidents etc. (The ride should be about an hour - should be is the key phrase. And then you need to get through MCO. (how long for that?). There is a thread on this that you can find better answers on. My suggestions - why ruin a peaceful vacation because of the stress of the last day catching a plane - unless of course you have to. Sorry....

This is a quote on another thread....

As you said, DCL recommends that you not book before 12:30. However, they book people on 11:30 flights! I wouldn't go a minute before 11:30.

We've been at MCO as early as 9 am. However, we've also had a cruise where the big doors didn't open till 9:10.

Go to breakfast on deck 9 if you don't have main seating. Plan to be off the ship as soon as they open the big doors, and you'll be fine! If you are in the "first flow" off the ship, the bus will be departing for MCO almost immediately (each one leaves as it fills up).

Thanks for all of that!....great info...yeah, I would be taking a chance for sure! The flight is already a done deal....leaving on a thursday at 11:36 (United). Tell me if you think this would work....have a private shuttle waiting for us (not sure what time to tell them).....and run off the ship first thing!.....I have used a private shuttle before to get from MCO to Ron Jon's....was prob more than I needed to spend but it got us there!

Do you think that would be a reliable mode of transportation and more importantly, FASTER?:thumbsup2

Thanks!

Disnurse - cannot help on the type of transport - so sorry - I am afraid you may need to search the main boards. :scared1:
