Any recommendations for a good/cheap/close to eurotunnel B&B in Folkestone.

One that does breakfast really early would be great too !

I think there are some "stop over" type B&Bs but I am not sure.

We are staying again at Holiday Inn Express at Canterbury. Nice hotel and only 20 minutes or so drive from Eurotunnel.
Breakfast is included which means we are set up for the day :)

We stay at Travel Lodge in Ashton - about 10 mins away from Eurotunnel. They do serve breakfast there but possibly not that early.

To be honest if its so early will you really want breakfast. We often take cereal bars or hot cross buns and a small tub of butter and either eat these on the train or in the car at the other end. You can also get breakfast at the terminal - not sure what time things open but we got a croissant there at 6.00ish and they were serving hot breakfasts as well.

The other option is just to get to France then stop somewhere on route for breakfast- most of the service stations do a breakfast of drink, croissant, roll and jam

Who did you book the journey through? if it is eurotunnel direct you probably won't get a ticket, just a booking reference you have to type in.

You have to check in at least 30 minutes before your departure.

Thanks for all the advice !

Anyone stayed in Folkstone itself ? Its nice and close to the tunnel ..... and not so much of a mad dash - but what is the accommodation like ? Would it be better to stay at the Travel Lodge type place instead ?

Don't want to spend a fortune on one over night stay (would rather save it for Mickey :)

Thanks :)

Do I assume you mean you are going on Euro tunnel (driving) as opposed to on Eurostar (which is for passengers)

If so it goes from just outside Ashford so the travel lodge where we stay is very close - about 10 mins away and on a leisure park with several restaurants including Frankie and Bennys, Pizza Hut, Burger King etc

Ha ! Sorry I have totally confused you and myself.

We are driving via the Eurotunnel and not Eurostar :)

5 weeks to go and I am already in a tiz !

So ... anyway ;) if anyone has any B&Bs in/near Folkestone that would be great.

My dad stayed there a few years ago and said there were lots of B&Bs along the cliff looking down across the harbour - do cheap accomodation and breakfast from around 4am - cant find any on the t'internet thou and he can't remember what the name of the B&B was he stayed in !

Sorry cant help you with Folkestone but if you want to be near by the terminal you will probably find Ashford is nearer than Folkstone anyhow

Thanks for allthehelp ... for some strange reason I thought the Eurotunnel (drive not passenger) went from Folkestone and that the Eurostar (passenger) went from Ashford.

Good job I am looking at it all now rather than on the day we need to go - can just imagine driving round Folkestone all confused :)
